Edward: Edward’s Exploit Old Iron Bertie’s Chase Saved From Scrap Henry: The Sad Story Of Henry > Edward, Gordon, And Henry (Merge the 2 stories) Flying Kipper Whistles and Sneezes Toby: Toby’s Tightrope (they’ve got the bridge) Dirty Objects Double Header/Time For Trouble Duck: Pop Goes The Diesel A Close Shave Triple Header Donald & Douglas Brakevan The Deputation Thomas Comes To Breakfast
Any of the scrap storylines would be amazing with the volumetric fog and spooky lighting! I want more of those eerie night stories in general!
Do you think if they added the mountain engines to WoS they'd have all the engines the same purple color or maybe do a TV Skarloey thing and have each engine a different color? Also, should they keep the rear faces on the engines as I think that was only done in the books as in most scenes their front faces would be mostly obfuscated due to the nature of the railway so the rear face is a way for the reader to see the character's expressions.
I think we might just get Culdee and Patrick/Lord Harry, but if the rest are adapted they may give them enough difference without needing to change the colour scheme. Maybe one of them get a lighter or darker purple. I think Godred has some difference to Culdee. The rear could stay and react in tandem with the main face when using the facial wheel, a neat detail when one face isn't in view of the camera. I personally wouldn't mind the rear face not appearing, but it could feel weird leaving it out. Even kids who play this game will notice it missing, Culdee is one of the most recognisable of non-adapted RWS characters especially with his merch count.
Funnily enough, the Korean edition of Mountain Engines removes the rear faces from the engines. If they retained the rear faces for the mountain engines, should they be a grey face or retain the purple tone?
I wouldn't mind either originally flesh with the rear like Annie & Clarabel or given the grey face treatment. The thing with the Culdee Fell engines is we haven't seen official to-screen adaptations of them for reference. If we get D199, I'm certain he'd get the grey face treatment like with Class 40.
The closest we've seen of the Culdee Fell engines to-screen is the tie-in magazine stories which are more in-line with the TV continuity, and a CGI render of Culdee's face for Take N Play.
True, I forgot about those Take'N'Play renders. I'm not quite sure what other stories I'd like to see adapted though, but maybe some seasonal themed ones would be nice and I wouldn't restrict it to just adapted.
Aside from the RWS stories and possibly even the magazine stories to adapt, they could do some snow related ones around the mountains and how it affects the mountain engines.
I’m going to go with the same predictions I shared in another thread, where Henry, Edward, Toby, Duck, and Oliver will all eventually make it into DLC at some point. With that in mind, here are my top five predictions for stories I could see them bringing in: Edward and Gordon Cows! Percy and Harold Double Header Bulgy I think each of these could work with the characters currently present and mentioned earlier. Edward and Henry being announced or released alongside the story Edward and Gordon would feel especially appropriate. I could also totally see the green double-decker bus being repainted as Bulgy for a Little Western expansion allowing for his debut story to be recreated.
there’s not much action in those stories they could use, hullo twins would be one big cut scene and the missing coach would only be shunting and swapping tenders
It will likely all come down to how that episode goes and how they want to adapt it. A Close Shave might work as trying to slow the train down to a certain speed before reaching a checkpoint close to the barbers and then cutting to an angled cutscene of Duck crashing. I know some people had issues with Emily in the 'Jack Frost' story for the game, but I can get around it. I like to view it as a WoS interpretation of events coming after Emily came to Sodor and since there's no Elizabeth model (hopefully yet, the background towns and roads could do with more life), anyone could be used to deliver the coal to Percy.
