Hi everyone! Just letting you know on Monday I'll be going through and updating any tickets that are already made and working on getting new ones created. Other than the stream that afternoon, it's all ticket and reporting work for the Stamford. I apologize I haven't been visually here the past two weeks, but our team in particular has been crazy busy, so we haven't been very chatty, just rushing from one thing to the next. We haven't said it, but we have been getting some tickets in as we can. DTG Harry has been utterly amazing at reviewing the tickets and making notes on already submitted ones for issues y'all have posted. I'll update in here and the other platforms if there is a ticket in, and if I can see the status. Also, shout out to our Beta Team for getting a lot of tickets submitted for us on release.
My only issue with the new route is the lack of a P32 as of now and the in-cab signals are a pain to deal with I have a console but I'm still hoping a mod gets made to disable it
During the morning peak 125th utilizes 3 platforms for inbound to central but the PIS screens and station map don't reflect any inbound services!
An update for anyone experiencing the random penalty breaks: I did another run and made absolutely sure to not trigger ANY overspeed warning, basically playing it safe with yellow signals. The problem did not happen at all. However, right before arriving at New Rochelle I was going 20MPH when the alerter brought me down to 15MPH. Shortly after that overspeed, the glitch happened again. I don't know if this will be patched, but it seems to only be tripped when you get penalized at least once during a run. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem!
Yeah once you learn the route or any for that matter. US safety systems are alot more easier then german/Europe.
I had an issue with an M8 service n°1508 (6:54 am), a train was stuck at Greenwich station and brought everything to a halt
It's not hard to learn I just enjoy time to time casual drive without constantly being on guard I don't mind in a timetable service. If that makes sense
There’s two reasons for this. One is because all inbound trains at 125th do not have a specific arrival time. Second, real PIS boards in 2015 did not show inbound trains.
This is known as issue because of the way the AI train spawns in and is near platform so it tries to open the doors. Temporary fix spawn in 5 minutes before
This may be part of the issue that a couple others have experienced - the brakes are getting stuck on. I think this was more the issue that I reported in an earlier post which I thought was an ATC issue. I've gotten better at anticipating ATC speed changes, and ATC stops aren't so much a problem for me anymore... ...Yet I'll be braking for a station - well under speed, and going between 'coast' and a light brake application. Sometimes the brakes won't release, and then the train brings itself to a stop very far short of where I need to spot it. There is no alarm, I'm far below the speed limit, and nothing to indicate what is causing the brakes to stay on. Once the train stops, the brakes reset themselves, and I'm able to continue on. But it is still pretty frustrating. Is this a bug or user error? Something else: I've noticed a few red signal problems in some timetable runs. On a northbound local run I did last night, there was a bottleneck near Rye because a red signal ahead caused an AI train in front of me to stop, causing me to stop, and causing an AI train behind me stop. There was no traffic ahead of the red signal. Curiously, the game 'dispatcher' said that the signal could not be changed because the "player train appears to be off-path." (Later on, I couldn't finish the scenario at Stamford because of another red signal with the same message.) I waited for around 10 minutes and nothing happened. Finally I got out of the train, went to the train in front of me, and de-spawned it. Then the signal turned green and I was able to continue on my way. I then saw further on, around Cos Cob, a similar situation unfolding with southbound AI trains. I was playing a southbound run a few minutes ago, and around Rye, saw an AI train cluster-F situation unfolding on the northbound tracks as I went by. Just a couple other random very small things: The headout views are reversed on the keypad. Pressing the left arrow puts your head out the right window. Pressing the right arrow puts your head out of the left window. This one is especially minor, but it'd be cool if the Raildriver binding was updated so that you have to pull the Raildriver horn button back, like IRL, instead of pushing the horn button in.
So the clip he provided went into the mianus one, but I checked the video and those wires are not missing at Pelham bay draw bridge, they actually go straight up into the tall towers . But as the other missing ohle wires are known
For me personally, this is a huge drawback. Seriously, It could have been added as a layer to the same Morristown and this would have at least slightly compensated for the inflated price.
Basically he tested it to make sure the doors open with free roam and they do. We checked AI service and they worked also.could have been the MC not being place in at least min brakes but best option was to try again since we ruled out anything wrong with doors
The brake issue you are experiencing is going into coast while the new speed hasn’t been met is actual correct but is going to get a patch. To avoid this penalty don’t put the mc into coast until you are under the new speed and have acknowledged
Yes, the wires just go left, but the pantograph goes right. Panto miss the wire - that's the message.
PLEASE FIX THE BROKEN SPEED CONTROL/100% TRACTIVE EFFORT ON THE ACELA - ON CONSOLE Sorry for caps. This has been broken since 2023 and mentioned time and time again but never fixed.
Its activating in certain circumstances where it shouldn't. Bottom line is whenever you encounter an ATC drop, immediately move the master controller to around 60% braking range, observe the brake rate light illuminate in the cab, then you can acknowledge the alarm. Do not release the master controller back to coast until you are underneath the ATC speed.
This stopping for no reason is wearing thin now. I slow to get to track speed and boom it brings to halt no alarms no warning and all green signals.
Hello I am new here but I have some feedback. Have played a couple of DLCs and lurked but never made an account, am from the NYC metro so these routes are particularly interesting to me. Run 1333 in the morning: I get to Grand Central and open the doors but the run never completes. Sat there and waited 10 minutes and eventually quit and went back to the menu. There is also an evening run, that I don't remember, maybe 1750? (Grand Central to New Canaan) Where an AI train gets stuck by Harrison and delays everything. Same thing happens on the opposite side, AI train gets stuck. I have to go and manually delete both. Lastly, just a comment on the signaling. How come when I get within 1 or 2 stations of another train in front of me, ATC forces me to go slow (45 -> 30 -> 15 in some areas), while I have AI trains tailing me extremely closely? How come AI trains are allowed to tail closely without speed restrictions, while I am speed restricted to 15 mph when I do not even come near the train I am tailing? This was not an issue in LIRR2 - you also were allowed to tail closely and speed limit was only restricted when you get really close. These speed restrictions make some schedules very hard to adhere to - such as the run I mentioned above (1333) where I am running roughly 5 minutes behind another local train.
every time someone reports an issue anywhere else we all have to be mind readers and not report them here it seems like.
I’m currently playing on PS5 on the Acela There’s nowhere to turn the safety systems on looked at the back wall, but there isn’t a switch to switch on ASCES And ATC I don’t know if it’s a bug It’s abit annoying when you want to complete medals such as platinum I hope there’s a fix for this train locomotive
You stand up walk to other side off cab open in door safety are on your left just below you 3 switches. Turn them on.
On stamford, avoid playing services 1225,1231,332,and 570. these services use platform 110 at GCt lower level which the unload doesn't seemed to register. I have put in a report for it
At this moment, i would suggest not buying it yet. It is quite undrivable/frustrating with the acses/random penalty breaking bug . Furthermore fps is quite good, but suddenly it turns against me and fps goes below 7 and the game CTD's also, doing 2 runs = CTD I've started at least 15 services and i ended maybe 4
This has happened twice now: approaching GCT, cruising through the tunnel at 60 MPH, clear signals, and about half a mile before the 10 MPH speed limit, the in-cab track speed suddenly drops to 10 and I get an immediate penalty brake. Is this part of the known bug that is to be patched?
It is not a bug. You crossed the ACSES penalty curve. Because it is a large drop in speed limit, the curve is really long and starts early. The best thing to do is to begin braking early and you should stay under the penalty curve.
Most trains inbound to Grand Central at Harlem 125 St, don't have arrivals because they usually what they called "Drop off only". It may not be the real answer but that's Metro North in real life. So that's probably WHY you don't see arrival times on the PIS like that
Is anyone else getting the thing where any time they pull out of Grand Central, as they pass the end of the platform, a wild MissingNo. appears in their cab for a few seconds? Doesn't seem tied to any loco or service, M3, M7, M8 all seem to experience it in the same spot just beyond the platform end at all times of day. I'd call it excellent creepypasta bait, because it's precipitated by all the in-cab display screens flickering off and on for a moment, before the glitching out begins, then just as abruptly ends. Something which if DTG could replicate deliberately could make for a cool halloween scenario someday.
I hope I am not going off on a tangent but I definitely want to take time to thank DTG, Rivet, Cactusjuice and all the developers and beta testers involved with the NY-Stamford route for their hard work, research, expertise and effort on the NY-Stamford route. In my opinion, this is the highest quality USA route that we have to date for TSW. I saw the entire livestream from DTG and read the deep dive articles and must say, I am really happy with how well crafted this route is. In my book, it gets 100%. I am amazed that we have both levels of Grand Central Terminal featured, with the complex NY-Penn Station/West side yard nearby running at a smooth frame rate. The updates that were done to the layered trains (CSX SD40, M3A, M7A, ACS-64, Amfleets and Acela) are definitely a warm welcome and the Metro North M8 is superb. I really like how it operates, sounds, especially the horn and announcements. The scenery overhaul along the Harlem/Hudson portions of this route came out really great and the run up from NY-Stamford as a whole across the Amtrak's NEC and Metro North's New Haven Line is amazing. The city skyline, and the revamped Penn Station with the inclusion of various Platform announcements and AI train horns at various times all fits superbly on this route There are so many scenery details in this route and I am really impressed with how the devs were able to build it in a way where it runs very smooth. This definitely should be the standard for routes going forward for TSW. I definitely look forward to what future patches for the NY-Stamford route will introduce and can't wait for the next set of USA routes. With how well this route did, I really hope at some point we can see a potential extension up to New Haven, as well as the Hudson Line and a Harlem line remaster. I definitely look forward to running many services on the NY-Stamford route and enjoying all of it's features and upgrades. I give this route a 10/10
I don't know if this was reported, but the road numbers on the M8's on the front sides seem to be broken as both A & B ends have the same number (Example 9426-9426 - when in reality it should be 9426-9427). The number in the middle of the car, however, shows the correct road numbers. The operating screen also seems to be bugged with the same issue, including showing the train number as in this example "94269426"
07:27 am Harrison to Grand Central train is stuck on red signal near Harlem station forever, seems like a bug
This stopping for no reason is wearing thin now. I slow to get to track speed and boom it brings to halt no alarms no warning and all green signals. Or am I missing something.

You know what might help with diagnostics here? If people post logs of their runs using Beentrain's Thirdrails plugin. Should show exactly where and when these brakes are hitting people and that info can perhaps help in putting together a picture of any pattern to it.
