Went on the line today, I'd say I'm impressed. Station modelling was spot on when I do the comparison with the screenshots, to the point where ALL shelters, signs, benches, help points are on the very same location in real life, with the only exception in New Hythe where a standalone sign is in place of one mounting on the wall in real life. For the sounds however, Attached (zipped) is my recording for the exact same stop sitting one row behind the announcements trailer, and I do have the following complaints: The interior sounds, despite sounding fantastic, is too crisp in the relevant trailer. The real thing should be more muffled as well as extra touches with the HVAC units. The announcement is bad, and if you compare it's day and night difference. Start from 1:50 mark in the recording. Lastly, that's the mastery layer.
The words of the announcement are pretty much spot on. We weren't trying to match the voice, they're copyrighted and would be a licensing nightmare.
I understand the licensing stuff, but the announcement audio themselves are just weird, like too fuzzy? Especially the "New Hythe". Also is it possible to implement the "ding-dong" sound?
Sounds fine to me. If this is the level of feedback the devs get after release, it's truly one of the best routes ever made
I'm really looking forward to this releasing. It looks amazing. I would like to ask, does the GSMR work in Free Roam (Timetable/Service Mode) for your own Free Roam Service? Thank you.
I double checked the number…it’s 501 playable with the caveat that all the 375/6 services are also able to be driven using the 465/9 should you wish. These do not appear as AI. re The GSM-R, it works wherever as it is independent of the timetable
Also granted we own SEHS, will we see the /9 and /6 375s coupled up together to form 8, 12 car trains like irl?
how many of them are the silly little ones that dtg like to beef the numbers up with that are like 2 minutes long from a siding to a platform and vice versa etc.
Not long to wait now… Clear the decks, finish up any other saved games, Railroader back on the digital shelf etc. Strange how I’m so pumped for an Electrostar route but, well, these are hopefully going to be super duper much improved Electrostars and having rewatched the Medway Crompton cab ride (albeit set in a slightly earlier era) at the weekend, the route itself promises to be a gorgeous driving experience. One handle Vern is waiting at Paddock Wood, driver’s key in hand.
Im looking forward to it looks great but dont know much about it. What kind of route would compare it too is fast or slow or abit or both.
Think the maximum speed on the MV itself is 70 MPH, Fawx or Jetwash can confirm, hard to compare with anything we already have in the game but maybe an electrified and all double track Blackpool branches. Or West Somerset again with double track and faster running. Some of the stations are far enough apart to give a decent intermediate run so it’s a bit more than a bus service!
Splitting hairs possibly but that 100mph section is not the Medway Valley Line, it's a small section of the Kent Mainline. So Vern is technically correct because the MVL is 70mph max, but so are you because the MVL service uses a bit of the mainline.
They are (I assume) train movements that exist IRL. If they were omitted, there'd be people complaining about that. Who'd be a developer, eh?
Well, purchasing a route populated by one handled Electrostars is not a " Road to Damascus" moment for me. I'm buying it because of the provenance ( Firefly ). This is not the kind of route I would normally buy but I've a feeling that these guys have put together something special. I'm counting on it.
"Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a 375, no escape from reality Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see I'm just a one handle boy, I need no sympathy Because it's easy stop, easy go" With apologies to the late Mr Mercury. Kind of hoping these guys will be up there alongside if not ahead of JT with this - no pressure!
Will we be able to get a preview of this route on xbox on stream, not even a full run just would be good to see the optimisations you guys have done in full swing
I'm going to support this release and Firefly. Yes it's more of Kent and it's not a line that at first glance excited me. However, this route in TSC is actually a lovely drive. Stations with real character a nice mix of SE England countryside and urban landscapes and some realistic end-to-end runs. The preview screenshots look really good too.
