I'm considering buying Mittenwaldbahn on Steam, but performance on TSW is inconsistent, so I wanted to check if I can expect Mittenwaldbahn to run smoothly or suffer from stutters before I make my purchase.

Runs well for me, better than Shap even.

Had a busy weekend so didn't want to buy anything I couldn't directly play with, but now I've purchased Mittenwaldbahn, and I gotta say it runs quite well. Lovely route and an amazing loco. I quite like these old electric trains.

It runs quite well for me on PS5 with all layers installed, completely playable even at the big stations.
On Xbox, there has been a pesky crash issue since they increased the draw distance because people were complaining about being unable to see distant scenery (see the dedicated feedback thread for the route).
Haven’t heard of any big issues on PC.

Haven't had an issue with it. Runs smoother than most. Granted while a good route, there's less traffic which I think is the cause of much of the issues in TSW.

It ran fantastically for me. I moved platform just to play that route (from Xbox to PC) in January and it’s gone right into my top 5 routes.

I “completed” the journey mode with very few issues. I have my FPS capped at 50fps, graphics on high preset with a Radeon 6700 12GB. Not sure if this is just me but the journey mode appears broken as not all scenarios are in it, and there are only 19 journeys but hey ho.

I’m now having issues with other routes (namely Stamford) and as I’m newish to PC I’m scratching my head a bit. But, Mittenwaldbahn, great! The Krokodil is an absolute belter once you get used to it. Became my favourite non UK loco very very quickly.

It ran decently for me even on my old potato PC. Haven't tried it on the new machine, but I anticipate no problems.

Far more challenging is learning how to descend grades in the 1020 without cooking the brakes....

It’s a lovely route, very scenic, and runs fine. Anyway it’s single track most of the way and they are always smooth runners.

I found the e-brakes relatively easy to use actually. Not much more challenging than going uphill. Still quite a fun drive and it keeps you alert.

A lot depends on the train weight. A modest train is no problem, but if it's heavy then on a long downgrade you can overload the dynamic brake circuit and it will automatically shut off- oops!

Ah right, I only did those small passenger trains yet. Good to know about the heavy freight trains. Sound like an extra challenge indeed :)

Performance on the route is pretty decent to be fair. No real issues. There's a lot of trees but i ran it fine no a 2080ti a few years back at 1440p
