For some reason when I passed by Sunnyside yard it was completely empty with only one train. I could’ve sworn I heard the developer say it would have all previously owned trains. I currently own every single American route and not a single train is in that yard maybe in the next update we could have this fixed

Probably not the place to put this thread but yes for the new NY-Stamford it is a ghost town, with a few runs for NYT out of Penn..if that's what you are referring too

This was done to aid in memory by not overloading since we have both levels of Grand central and Penn station.

It does probably show a need for less poly heavy static models, without the bells and whistles, tinted window carriages and models that one is unable to enter to sit in yards and sidings that are never used (basically just shells of their current roiling stock) to create a more immersive game rather then using the current in game/drivable rolling stock we have but I guess thats for another discussion.. while there are plenty of Sunnyside runs and trains stationary for NYT, LIRRv2 and Morristown should you own any of those

While this could help with inaccessible areas, it would stick out like a sore thumb in Sunnyside which has actual playable services.

I still maintain that Hoboken could probably push 50fps if it was not rendering thousands of passengers sitting in all the unused stock in the sidings.

I honestly think having static scenery freight cars would do wonders on routes that are primarily passenger, especially on the Hoboken DLC when you're passing the bigger yards. Would save having to tie up resources into actual rolling stock, and still provide some realism into things. MSTS used to do this quite a bit back in the day.

The Hoboken sidings, I feel so bad for the passengers. If it was an Amtrak route, and they instead lived in the Amfleets in Sunnyside, they'd at least have the cafe car to get something to eat, and have reclining chairs for when they presumably sleep in them at night when we're not watching.

That's if the cafe car is even open, or if the card machine is working, or if the cafe attendant isn't in a grumpy mood lol

It was a bit of a culture shock when I took the Maple Leaf up to Toronto a few weeks back and the VIA Rail crew took over the train at Niagara. The crew and the border people were so damn nice lol.
