When you read the changelog you know that there was no indication to those fixes so i don't know why you complain about it for this patch.... And no its not fun but its not the purpose of this patch
True, but I noticed that sometimes they sneak some little fixes without mentioning it in the changelog And in the end, I am very happy about the fixes/upgrades released today. Those are welcomed at any time, especially on a bit aged routes
Well, today's patch did add some nice features to the trains. Suspension being the most important one. But yeah, the route itself is still amazing .
Just played SEHS on Series S, I noticed it now has less stutters and the reflections from the sky are looking better on the trains. And I don't know if it's just imagination, but it looks like TAA is less messing up assets like trees (HD mode). Before reading the patch notes, I noted while turning on the headlights, the naming dipped beam, I couldn't remember I had seen this before. Well I was right, from the patch notes: Headlight naming corrected to match realworld terminology: Day Light → Dipped Beam and Night Light → Main Beam It where a few enjoyable drives on this route!
Class 395 is now broken... Was driving the Javelin from Gravesend to Maidstone West on Medway Valley Line with about a mile (just over) it threw itself into an emergency brake application for seemingly no reason. Shut the cab down and turned it back on again only to be greeted with a message saying "close the Circuit Breaker to draw power from the third rail". Only problem being there's no clickable button labelled "Circuit Breaker", at least not that I could find. Okay, let's try resetting physics. What do you know, that did frick all. Thankfully it was downhill so I was able to just roll into Maidstone. I guess that's another train to add to the don't drive list...
It would be nice to see some MVL assets make there way into SEHS, especially the bridge and the updated signal box around Gillingham. For the most part I do appreciate the added suspension on varies trains, they were badly needed.
PS5 Pro I have 39/40 layers installed, I'm only missing Static 385 (EDN needed) I ran one trial service with a Class 395 from Ashford to Pancras Intnl on the HST line During the ride, I switched external camera views many times, and I watched the behavior of the textures and of course the textures in the cockpit. Only when stopping at Stratford Intnl and zooming in with the free camera to the yellow front of the train did the texture slightly blur...... However, if I didn't use the zoom on the camera, the texture held and didn't blur. After arriving at Pancras, the situation was a little worse, there the effect of a slight blur, especially noticeable on the yellow front of the train, appeared and was practically permanent........ the cockpit seemed to be fine However, it is necessary to state that not all the necessary rail vehicles that use the layers for this map are optimized, so there is probably still room for optimization. One test drive cannot be used to draw premature conclusions, but even after the experience of the new Medway Valley map, there is hope that this problem will begin to be suppressed and we will be able to enjoy TSW to its fullest on consoles.
PS4 Still not the slightest remedy for the layering issue in sight. They are well documented and persist since TSW4 (in words: Train Sim World FOUR). Have you given up on this project?
PS4 support is coming to an end, not officially by DTG, but Sony’s main focus now is the PS5. You can expect other developers to jump on that bandwagon too. There’s only so much a developer can do with 8GB GDDR5 Ram in 2026.
True, but if you bought a game back in 2022 and it worked fine and then suddenly half of your trains disappear, that is a different story. If I buy a new tyre for an old Jaguar and it turns out to be defetcive, the dealer should not say "ah, dang it, your car's an old clunker anyway".
Technically each version of TSW dating back to 2018 aren’t really the same game though. Every new iteration of the game comes with new features & updated textures & sounds. This requires more memory now. A route on TSW3 will be less demanding to run as opposed in the latest version of the game, you need to compensate for these changes. This is where the PS4 is struggling. Even 16GB of Ram isn’t enough for this game anymore, I’m starting to notice that a lot with the newer routes. I struggle to hit 60fps. I do run at 1920x1200, ultra settings and screen percentage at 130% with a 165hz monitor.
I have to agree on this one. That is why, for example, I use TSW3 on my PS4 with SEHS Extended. Only the layers that do not crash it. But imagine you started with TSW4, bought the route and the 700. It is all but useless, only seeing half of the timetable in each case.
I wouldn’t be happy that’s for sure. You’re basically buying the same product, but getting an inferior version. If I was in the same predicament as you I’d be using TSW3/4 also. 5 & 6 have really pushed the game to its limits.
