I think I would have quite happily paid £50 if they done the stretch from Dartford to Faversham as well . Would have been awsome. With there quality of work.
Hi. it was the ini engine that caused those routes to crash. I deleted my modded ini file (saved as a back up) and then let the game create a fresh engoine doc. After that, I then re modded the ini file. There were some lines I had to take out (relating to memory usage) but since then its been wonderful.
I'll say again, I'm super happy with this route. I'm not really a fan of the types of train that run on it, but it's so immersive, I've been totally drawn in. I really enjoy freight and that is absolutely brilliant just trundling slowly along admiring the scenery. I mainly play on PC but I have TSW on PS5 as well for when I just want to relax on the Sofa in front of a bigger screen. This is one of the few DLCs that I will add to my PS5 collection as well.
Hi All, Just a quick question here. I'm have a blast on this route the attention to detail is just out standing. Having to go to outside camera just to take in all whats been added. OK back to question. Is there a key command for the DRA button? I have a list of key commands but nothing relating to DRA. I'm on PS5 along with keyboard.
Yes they have. If you want them to predict by what day it'll be fixed, life doesn't work like that. They've said they can't commit to an ETA, it's obvious why (or it should be). They have told you all they know, what more do you realistically want them to tell you? They know there's a problem, they don't know what's caused it, they're working all the hours they can (both Firefly and DTG) to try and fix it.
The last time I enjoyed a new route this much was when Preston-carlisle released. It's incredible, wide array of services, the lighting is incredible. The stations are beautiful, it's a shame about the 375 audio (I'm on PS5) but as others have done, I'm using the 465 mostly until the update is sorted. I'm glad I purchased this on day one.
Yep, great they acknowledged it yesterday, but this was a week after the launch and the only update was from the devs to say a corrected build was with Sony. It’s not unreasonable to ask where the update was, given these are usually pushed out same or next day., and there was no expectation given that it was still experiencing issues. Neither is it unreasonable to ask when to expect a fix - presumably not for another week, given the break; but is it big and going to take weeks, is it something they expect to get on top of by next week… no-one’s having a go, just asking for information about the paid product that ain’t working
This is truly a great route, my only small criticism would be that having 2 of the 5 scenarios at only 15 minutes is a bit too much.
We can't give you an ETA beyond "As soon as it's fixed" currently. Ourselves and DTG aren't even sure what the cause is. So we're having to methodically try each part of our audio setup piece by piece. This unfortunately means we have to wait for DTG to make a Devkit test build, then test it for us. Which has a delay on it, so testing each of our changes is taking a bit. Beleive me, we all want this fixed, It's incredibly stressful our end. But for some reason audio that works no problem on PC and Xbox, is just not playing nice with PS5. We're contacting Epic soon for help at the unreal engine level I beleive.
thanks for the additional info; must be extremely frustrating when the cause isn’t obvious and having to go through the code line by line to test if its worked. Fingers crossed you manage to pin it down soon
I'm sure they'll solve the audio problem soon. Maybe in doing so they'll accidentally solve the volume issue on the 700. Hate to be tiresome, but could someone point me towards the sound mod for this train. I'm mod-averse, but I might just make an exception for the 700. I do rather like it.
Like I said a few posts back, you won't regret it. Just a shame that the 700, like the VP185 HST, has so precious little to do in TSW - though you will enjoy the night runs across MV.
Yes, I did one. It was enjoyable but couldn't hear much, including the very faint on- board announcements. And it was like watching a modern TV rather than the 375 which reminds me of the first set my parents bought in 1951.
I thought they were perfect? Which is it? Are they good enough or do you agree they could do with some tweaking?
Read my posts again. I was talking only about the 700. The scenarios were all with the 375 which ran perfectly, graphics and audio are fine.
My mistake, I thought you meant the 375. You’re on PC obviously with mods, that’s why I was confused as there’s no announcements for the 700 on console.
Hard disagree. It's a matter of opinion of course, but I play this "sim" to get the most realistic experience possible. Of course it falls short in many ways, but I very much appreciate how the announcements were done on the route: realistically. Perhaps to please more "arcade style" enjoyers there should be a relevant setting added to the game.
Great train set One question : I saw somewhere the collectible include something call "Life Ring", what is a "Life Ring" ?
Life preserver, a floating ring you throw for someone to grab when they are in the water. Rettungsring in German I think?
Life rings are what near rivers and lakes . Its plastic ring you throw in the water if someone drowning or in distress in the water.
I must say I've been loving this route so far! PS5 audio aside no cons at all!! I haven't played for nearly a week and noticed an update on PS5 earlier, I'm not sure what it was for BUT I've now noticed when I'm driving either 375/6 or 375/3 I'm not getting any audio for AWS/vigilance peddle. So I'm now constantly driving along and suddenly have the emergency brakes applying because I haven't noticed it . Anyone else noticed this on PS5?
did a 11pm run earlier, and the difference in lighting compared to other routes is night and day. it feels so much more natural and realistic
Finally able to buy and play this last night. Absolute work of art. Thank you. I made the Crouch Valley routes many years ago and worked really hard to bring the line side to life. This is the most detailed line side I’ve personally seen in a route with leaning signs, debris around everywhere and just the vibe of a real life active railway. It’s really impressive and immersive. if you guys made the c2c and class 357 with this level of detail I’d pay hundreds for it. thank you to all of you who made this.
In all honesty, i was even thinking of a Patreon to help with the next release, especially if its a rural Hope Valley (Manchester to Sheffield) through the beautiful Pennines with modern engines like the 185.Honestly., Id be happy to pay hundreds too because the magic these guys would bring to that route would be worth it.
Ahh ok, very strange! I literally tried both 375's and when keying on there was alarm sound, yet the 465 there is? And it definitely wasn't doing that last time I played? Maybe it's specific to the service I picked, I can't remember what one it was now . Anyway, thanks for letting me know. Loving the route so far regardless, amazing!!
Did a great long run on this last night, a 508 (313 reskin SET livery) from Strood to Tonbridge, switched to a 375/6 (which had no audio issues) to Strood, then spawned an ECS working to Rainham in order to route hop to Faversham in a 395, then back on a late evening 465. Overall this has been the best 5 hours I've spent on TSW. Yes, I'm on PS5 and yes I'm also peed off with buying a product with a glitch but it'll get fixed at some point, and I appreciate the time and effort and communication back, thank you DTG/FireFly. My only feedback would be please spend some time researching the South Western for that long awaited and much wanted route from Wimbledon to Woking/Guildford. And a 455 would be nice to chuck in! Cheers
Daft question, but had you turned the safety systems on? They are on by default in the scenarios but off in TT mode
It’s clear we all like the great work and attention to detail by Firefly. It would be cool as we already have JT and AAS concentrating on new routes in the midlands and north if Firefly could concentrate their excellent work in the south to balance things up a bit, by South I include areas to the east and west.
You're assuming that they haven't yet decided on future projects which, given the lengthy development time, they almost certainly have.
Yeah definitely . So I've just got home from work and tried again on a few different timetable services and it's still happening. I've also tried replaying some of the services I've already completed and I know it was working then, and now it's not. And again tried with the 465 and it works fine. The dash lights up on the 375's display showing the safety system activated but there's just no audible bell, press circle and it deactivates. So it's working, just no sound for it???
Just tried this on my PS5, on the current retail build. Works fine for me. AWS, DSD and Vigilance, all correctly play their audio. No changes have been made to this. Also had it confirmed by another friend of mine that is on PS5. So might be something wrong with your audio setup? Do you have the alerts set to come out of your Dualsense?
I might be wrong but I believe on the preview stream one of them said they do not have an affinity to a particular region and will do what they like, wherever that may be. I would definitely love to see some South Western content though, especially if it means they will be sorting out the 455 and it's incredible motor sounds. I could not imagine anyone better for it than ItsYa165.
Ah ok, thanks man! Clearly something to do with my end 100%, so weird that it works with the 465 but not 375's. So can't be anything to do with the dual sense. I've just thought maybe I should try it with headphones rather than through the TV and see if that helps. I feel like making a video now to prove I'm not going mad If I get chance tomorrow after work I'll try headphones and completely restarting the PS5 instead of loading it from quick play. Who knows, some weird stuff going on with my PS5. Thanks all for trying to help, as a first time poster always daunting making your first posts and I'm kind of a noobie to TSW too
Don’t worry about that at all, we’ll try and help you get to the bottom of it. Shutting down the console and booting fresh is always a good idea.
I haven't played much last 6 weeks or so but decided to give this a go today. This is easily the prettiest route in terms of graphics, especially the lighting and attention to detail. Also it looks like one of my major (but very pedantic) annoyances has mostly been rectified which was the size of the location cases being 2/3rds the correct scale and all with the same loc number! I'd love a route with this detail that included Westbury in it. I'd love to drive the new shunt, main and call on routes I designed last year for the real Westbury station E10k interlocking and all the other interlocking control changes I did. Would be awesome.
I keep getting this weird lighting bug on the windshield of the Class 700 since the last update, it wasn’t there before. The windshield flickers a light blue colour. It was present throughout my journey. For reference I’ve added the service and settings I used. PS5 Pro
