    Introduction:
    The class 319 is an electric multiple unit (EMU) passenger train designed for north-south cross-London services, primarily operated but Thameslink. Built in two batches between 1987 and 1990, these dual voltage trains can operate on both AC overhead wires and DC third rail. The class 319 was first introduced in 1988 and has on various services, including flagship expresses to Brighton. Some units have been converted to class 769s and 799s:
