    LMAO EXACTLY
Though its unpopular in my generation, there seem to be many people who just don't care due to laziness, using it for homework, social media, ect, and I honestly think a human can do much better...

Earlier in the thread I mentioned multiple save slots, not just because I might want to hop in and out of different routes, mainly because all too often I accidentally hit x on the playstation when the save slot is selected, only to have to exit out to the main menu again because I'd already finished the save. With a sub menu beneath it, would solve many of my issues ha

    It's an excellent point.

For all my disappointment with the choice of UK routes so far would I rather have my favourite routes in TSW2 or TSW7 or 8 when the quality is far better? It's the latter. Maybe I should take myself outside and wind my own neck in. (UK phrase meaning "shut up")

My favourite UK DLC is still London to Brighton but I would have stopped using it ages ago if it weren't for the various mods that improve on the original route and timetable.

Following on from thoughts on the matter in another post, just musing if the UK route could be the southern ECML, bang up to date with the GBR liveried AT300 and the Class 700 (hopefully with improved sound set). Bonus DLC would either be an IC225 set or maybe for us old fossils a Deltic for railtours.

the deltic is so long overdue at this stage. It has to be this years deluxe loco

I would take a 91 over a Deltic for a modern route. If we have a Deltic, personally I want a period route for it not some contrived railtour.

Of all the routes (or section of routes) that I'd like to see in-game, ECML South (London to Peterborough) feels like the most likely to be the next big DTG release at this time. And I'll be delighted if it is. Any route that has multiple types of gameplay is a must for TSW and that the rolling stock roster for ECML is at worst a Class 91 away from being complete seems like an obvious choice.

There's fantastic railtour potential (hopefully a pack with the Deltic) and a choice of express. semi-fast, stopper, metro and freight traffic. That's why I think London to Ipswich will come one day, same mix. But ECML is, to use a football term, a "tap-in" and would be very popular, especially if there are layers for classes 91, 313 and 717.

It's screaming out to be in TSW.

I agree, I'd love a 1980s version with 55s, 312s, 313s and HSTs. But if it's to be a modern version, I'd be happy for a Deltic railtour pack for now and maybe have another section (York to Newcastle for example) set in the 70s or very early 80s to give the Deltics a realistic environment.

In the weather enthusiast community there's always debate over whether it will snow when it turns cold and the wiser heads always say "let's get the cold in first and then focus on whether it will snow". Well, let's get the Deltic on the roster then figure out where it can shine afterwards. I'd literally drive it on every high speed UK line, just because I could. The Deltics are the kings of post-steam BR traction. I'm a bit of a fan!

You could be right with Southern ECML. Makes sense. They should have started the ECML at Kings Cross anyway… just seems a bit odd they chose to start with Peterborough / Doncaster.

I think DTG/other developers have a few very busy or long routes in mind but are waiting for a core that can cope with it.

We saw this with TSC. The extended, re-released version of the Portsmouth Line that included Woking to Waterloo came out around the time that the TSC core was improved. In its early days TSC was incredibly moody, but it's been years since I've had a crash to desktop on it.
Just like TSW, the core is improving and when it's more stable I think we'll see an updated Brighton line, ECML south, GEML, extended mainline routes (Milton Keynes to Birmingham and Doncaster to Newcastle).

    For now:
    - Would like to see the ability to create timetables made a little simpler so all can create their own.. current way through the editor is one hell of a b@ll ache! and that way we can all create a time period we wish with the rolling stock available! its frustrating seeing so many missed opportunities in TTs
    - Low poly statics with all the guts ripped out of them to be placed in and around empty yards for better immersion

What exactly is hard with the editor?

I've found it pretty nice to use, it's very similar to the TSC scenario maker with the only disadvantage being it doesn't sim the TT whilst in the editor (unlike TSC).

I'm really enjoying it, especially since you can timetable shunting movements which is quite prevalent in my 1973 TT.

For me, on the brief work with the TSC scenario maker, I found this so much easier to use then the editor..

What source material did you use for creating the TT? I used a Youtube clip but just didn't get it when I tried the same way and with little patience I have when I dont get something I do tend to chuck it in, which probably didnt help!

I really would like to learn how to use it properly as I have some 2025/2026 projects in mind

I really recommend KTL Rob Powell's series. He breaks down the whole process into multiple short videos. It's for scenarios but it's very similar to making a timetable, the only difference being you don't need to make a blueprint for TTs.

DTG Matt has made a forum post on troubleshooting using the text log, which is quicker than relying on the playback tool. Google TSW Timetable Troubleshooting and it'll be the first DTG Forum link.

If you also use Discord I'd recommend you join the Train Sim Community server, there are 2-3 people in the TSW-modding channel who are in there who are absolute wizards when it comes to TT making and can help you out.

    a very basic idea

spilt the layers into two parts
    One being your ai layer
And the other just static stuff

have them apart by a line just so it’s cleaner

if possible separate wagons from trains so like just having the class 40 and not the other stuff from the br heavy freight pack and the opposite

very optional but would be great to have the ability to make it so some liveries don’t appear on some routes via a livery tab next to layers (this mainly to help manage the ton of class 66 liveries and for people that want some liveries not to appear due to being unrealistic for the time

Anything that makes timetables easier to build gets an upvote for me.
As the traction library for TSW improves, backdated timetables will become more popular (especially for old farts like me).

If it was possible to choose which timetables you want in each route in the same way that layers within those timetables can be unselected then it would stop overloading routes with endless different timetables, which is a legitimate concern for some TSW players.

I would settle for Scenario Planner spawning in random AI same as TSC free roam does. As regards doing a full all day timetable, well that involves firing up the Unreal Editor which is beyond the brain power of mere mortals like myself, who nevertheless found it relatively easy to set up a decent run in TSC or even the old MSTS Activity Editor.

Personally I would love to see a full scale route eg bristol temple to Cardiff Central or London Paddington to penzance with both class 800 and the sleeper train. They should also add the class 43 back again

I can confidently predict that Paddington to Penzance will never be released as one DLC. You've picked the longest regular mainline service there. It's a 5-6 hour journey, it would be in so many sections that it would probably cook most PCs and consoles before you've made it to Exeter. So you want an updated GWE? Reading to Bristol via Swindon, possibly Reading to Bristol via Bath? Cardiff to Bristol, Bristol to Exeter and Plymouth to Penzance (because the existing Cornish section needs completely rebuilding). 6 new route sections at a minimum. You'd probably have to choose too, IET era with Class 43 short sets between Penzance and Cardiff or backdated to 2015ish before IETs or overhead wires beyond Heathrow or a transition timetable with wires finishing around Didcot/Swindon as was the case at that time.

I've said before, I don't really get the excitement for driving for that long, there isn't a train driver in the UK who does that sort of mileage in one go, I think the maximum is around 3 hours, maybe a bit longer for freight. Doing so in TSW or TSC seems completely unrealistic.I tried it on the ECML in TSC and was bored before I got as far south as Doncaster and that was at the 3 hour mark. It's also not good for your eyesight staring forward at track for that long.
In the meantime developers could release 6 sections of routes in different parts of the country with new traction to get to learn. I'd vote for that personally.

DTG hasn't released a 1st Party UK route since Rivera Line, I wonder if the TSW 7 route is going to be the longest ever?

That's true. But even if TSW claims to be a simulator, it's still a game, it's virtual at least, and it's fun to be able to do virtually things you'd never do in real life ! :D

(However, I must admit in all honesty that I rarely do long sessions when I'm sober. :o)

Would like to see the class 37 couplers capable of hooking up to 350s + 378 in formation designer in order to create drag sets as per real life.. I have come to the conclusion that my patience with PC editor is too thin to create a full TT, so thought next best thing for my own enjoyment was to create formations to play out amongst the current TTs itself only to find out you cant couple 37 with 350 or 378s FFS! this game continues to get more frustrating at every turn with the limitations that shouldn't be there

A better save system. Not just more slots, fewer weird system resets, better weather continuity, etc. when restoring and make starting the next timetable then saving remember the progress.

The save system is a core, bare bones feature of any game and it needs to be brought up to a decent standard.

So far as we know, Riviera was mostly built by Rivet on behalf of DTG.

The news about Metro Rivals does introduce a wild card about what might happen with TSW this year. Will they go for a new version and if so will the core still be a free update, or will they stick at TSW6 with a three route content pack?

Of course they'll go for a new version. They've already said releasing a new game gives them more marketing opportunities. Why do we even doubt TSW7 will be a thing?

I've thought for a while now that the core UK route will be ECML:S, it ticks all the boxes. Kings X to Peterborough is 70 miles, so doable. Most of the stock exists in the game, would just need the 700 modifying to a 717. It also works perfectly for a deluxe loco as well, with the Class 91. Would love them to include the Moorgate branch and the Thameslink link section to St Pancras for some other full runs. Other choice I think would be GEML or Waterloo to somewhere.

It terms of the game, forget new features for a year, lets have a proper look at making it as stable as possible, better save options and even stuff like FSR/DLSS. It'd be great too if this was all just a core upgrade and not a "new" version and we don't have to redownload everything all again.

The latest that I heard was that Focus didn't think that moving to TSW7 was sending the right signals.
Apparently they are suggesting that Matt "turns it up to TSW11" to get the maximum bang for his bucks.
(I wonder where we have heard that before? ;) )

Ok my mind on TT building in the pc editor is changing since just diving in and giving it another go.

Thanks for the tip I did find those vids helpful to a degree for setting up and batching..

Still more to understand and get my head around but getting here.. Need to go in for surgery at the start of May so expecting to have a couple of weeks off to recover so the plan is to learn now so can maximise those two weeks of no work and try and complete my first TT

I had to do a double take on seeing the screenshots, looks like real life and for a moment thought it was one of those Ongakukan style drive the video clip games. Makes TSW look like MSTS or Run 8.

    Of course the caveats…
1 Early access, at least two Japanese games on my HD, Hakadote Tram and Train Conductor that seem stuck in development perpetuity.

    2. Hardware. Although my GPU meets the minimum spec., my CPU is too low at I7 4770.

    3. Like much of the JP stuff I can see this coming in expensive, can see £39.99 on the inside of my eyelids.

However it ought to be a wake up call for DTG…

As much as I would love to see more ECML I really don't want it to be DTG that bring it to life. Their routes are just not up to the standard of some 3rd parties.

I think what I’d like the most is for DTG to start doing quality control testing.
