Hello folks, EDIT: As noted by Alex in this post, the release of the DB BR 147 and the showcase stream have been postponed. I will leave this thread open, so please feel free to continue asking questions. Tomorrow, March 31st at 7 pm UTC, we will showcase the upcoming DB BR 147 loco Add-On. If you have any questions, please post them here. We will gather your questions beforehand, but please understand that we might not be able to answer all of them. To make things run smoothly, please use this thread for questions related to the new route only. After the showcase stream, we will timestamp the VOD on YouTube, post a summary of the questions and answers, and close the thread, as it will have served its purpose by then. Looking forward to seeing you in chat! All the best, Jan
As time goes on, will the DB BR 147 layer onto more routes? If so, which ones could we expect it too? And as an update (hopefully sooner), will we also see the modelling of the engine room?
In preview screenshots for the articles, the external detination display for the service line only showed the type of service (eg. RB or RE) without the regional line number (eg. RB20 or RE1). Will that be added before release, or be in the first patch?
Will it substitute for BR 146 services at least for the player? This is basically my buy or not buy criteria. If it only runs on Stuttgart and future routes, then its a sale filler for next steam sales.
Why are you removing TGV services "across all platforms to ensure the gameplay works as you’d expect"? Considering you mentioned "we have identified performance issues that are limited to console platforms" just one paragraph beforehand, it is likely that the two aspects are connected. How does this line up with your often mentioned "consoles do not hold back the game"?
Thats prototypical for Stuttgart and Baden Württemberg. They introduced Line numbers only a few years ago, definetly after 147 times. (edit Looking it up and ok they came in steps between 2019 and 2021) Before that each regional train was displayed with its train number on the platform PIS and the loco only said RE/RB/IRE whatever.
So what’s the LAMPOIL factor behind this add on? What’s the incentive to buy another modern German electric locomotive when the game is already quite well provided for in this respect?
- Can the 147 be used as substitute for both player and AI services (where appropriate obviously) across many older routes similar to that of the 146? - Would you ever consider an IC2 variant? - Can you promise the 147 will perform to an acceptable standard for the Stuttgart route post-optimisation on console (i.e. no video memory errors, minimal to no blurring etc). This route has been one of the worst performers when it comes to memory, blurring and optimisation on Gen 9 console - which is such a shame as the route itself is good in my opinion. - Will the route be updated to reflect a more modern timetable; the most obvious example are having more modern-style road cars etc.
Good afternoon folks, I've edited the first post, but will create another message so people won't miss it. As noted by Alex in this post, the release of the DB BR 147 and the showcase stream have been postponed. I will leave this thread open, so please feel free to continue asking questions. All the best, Jan
Let me be ask then.... Why is this month such a mess?! It is so frustrating to experience this whole sh.t show!!!
Why do you make timetables not a bit smaller, so that it run smoothly instead of going to the limits with timetables, that leads to cancelation of whole locos and trains. I think that's the problem with the 147 timetable for Frankenbahn. And we had that problems with München - Augsburg (München Hbf is mostly empty) , London Commuter (Addition of prototypical train the Thameslink is impossible) , New York - Trenton (freight layer was removed) and Frankfurt S-Bahn (reduced timetable with empty Frankfurt Hbf om consoles) already.
the loc is ok but it would be so nice to substitute it on all other germans roads I dont have lubeck or stuttgart then its not worth
I'm very confused about the on-board LZB equipment in DB BR 147.0 locomotive. Why doesn’t the real DB BR 147.0 locomotive have on-board LZB equipment, but in the game there are LZB switches in the cab and LZB-related information on the driver’s DMI display?
How do you restart after emergency brake? I put the pantograph back up, closed the MCB and held line power as well as waiting five minutes but the traction will not take power and shows the box in the HUD as red. I tried turning everything off and back on again twice but it still does not move, it only rolls back. I turned off safety systems but it makes no difference.
Well, this is a QandA thread so my question, why the hell can't this loco just substitute for your average any-passenger-loco service such as everything running with a 146 in all older DLCs?
That's the only reason that prevented me from buying it so far. Will probably wait for a sale and by then hopefully there will be a substitution mod available...
Because it never ran any regular services on many of the routes we have in Tsw and even the already available substitutions like on HBK are already very unrealistic. Especially the comparison between 147 and 146 is pointless given the amount produced and age gap between them entering service. A similar situation would be to ask for the 430 to layer on all 423 services.
So what would be the issue with player selectable only, but not naturally spawning, substitutions of the sort? Even with the 4xx EMUs there's been historically loans between different DB nets, when needed. With locos, even more massively so. This is a GAME after all. I'm not saying they need to appear by themselves, just to be selectable. I'm pretty sure there's many other period or location incorrect (by the rule) substitutions, that could technically be or have rarely been done.
There are many incorrect substitutions in the game, thats true. Still, to increase that number by choice will only make it worse. This is a SIMULATOR after all. Additionally, most of these are caused by DTGs very very limited rolling stock options back then. What do you think why the 406 runs on DRA?
Why doesn't the 147 layer on SKA then, we clearly have Flix Vectrons running around so it can't be the wrong timeframe?
From what i know, 147s first started service there last year or at least the year before. However in one of the preview streams there was a mention of Joe already considering to add it at some point. Still, just because the 147 isnt much younger than the 193, it doesnt mean the 147 can layer everywhere the 193 is used, as the kind of locos to operate on regional lines is often still done with either 146, 143, 114, ... or new EMUs.
