Get ready to celebrate the 200 year history of modern railways, with the GWR HST Farewell Pack Add-on, bringing all new gameplay and iconic HST power cars to the Great Western Express Remastered and Riviera Line routes!

    GWR HST Farewell Pack
    [IMG]

As a tribute to the HST’s final years in service with GWR, as well as a celebration of 200 years of modern railways, the HST Farewell Tour Add-on will feature new timetable services, thrilling scenarios, and include seven iconic HST power car designs that were worn by the GWR HST’s, along with two Mk1 HST Barrier Coach designs.

Here's a full summary of the power car designs within the pack:

    • Class 43 power car 43002 ‘Sir Kenneth Grange’ (BR Blue and Yellow with nameplate)
    • Class 43 power car 43093 ‘Old Oak Common’ (GWR Green with OOC vinyl & nameplate)
    • Class 43 power car 43185 ‘Great Western’ (InterCity Swallow with nameplate)
    • Class 43 power car 43187 & 43188 ‘Welshman’ (GWR Green with white dragon vinyl)
    • Class 43 power car 43188 ‘Welshman’ (GWR Green with yellow dragon vinyl)
    • Class 43 power cars (GWR Green with vinyl ‘GWR’ logo)
    • Class 43 power cars (GWR Green unbranded)

In addition to the designs above, the Mk1 HST Barrier Coach will also be available in both blue and green liveries, featuring buckeye and hook coupler types, allowing players to perform stock moves between the HST’s and a wide range of stock in TSW. You will also be able to hand place end of train lamps on the Class 43s, Mk3 coaches and the barrier coaches.

    Scenarios & Services
The pack will contain six scenarios, all inspired by real-world events, ranging from depot open days to helping crowds of passengers from Dawlish get to the air show while keeping your cool on a hot and busy day. Keep an eye to the skies!

From the first passenger run of ‘43002’ in BR Blue, to the unveiling of ‘43093’ at the Old Oak Common depot open day, and of course the final HST runs out of Paddington. These scenarios have been made as authentically as possible, even on the smaller details, such as creating dynamic weather patterns based on the real-world weather of the day the scenario is based on, timings that match the train's schedule that day, and even exact unit numbers where possible.

Taking a close look at the timetable, as a general note, all of the seven power cars will substitute into any existing GWR HST service across Train Sim World 6, both for player-driven and AI. Extra unique services are also included for both the Great Western Express Remaster and Riviera Line routes, that make additional use of the power cars and the Mk1 HST Barrier Coaches, giving players the opportunity to drive empty stock moves using the new stock.

We just wanted to finalise it before posting, but it'll likely be just me and Liam as Matt may still be on annual leave! :)

Of course, my point was that you've referred to tomorrow as "next week".:)

No ScotRail Inter7ity ? Or are they coming as/with something else, or did I just make up in my own mind that I thought they were on their way too. Would make a welcome addition to the sparse Fife Circle line.

It does! I'll be learning the ropes so I can make sure to show off everything Matt usually shows off. I'm nervous but very excited to be driving my first preview.

It also means I'll be a little quieter so I can focus, so everyone who enjoys having a break from my voice can feel relieved I won't be yapping my way through it! ;)

    I couldn't agree more
no new sounds, no modeled engine room
there's nothing that justifies the existence of this pack
to me, it's no different from the GBR class 802

The big difference for me is I’m happy to support this as a “tip jar” for Liam’s incredible work on GWE Remastered.

Same here, I think Liam deserves to receive something for all the time and effort he put into the GWE remaster. I'm looking forward to this pack!

Looking forward to this. The HST is by far my favourite loco so I'll enjoy it. Extra variations of the liveries, additional timetable runs for them and new scenarios makes this one of the better value gameplay packs in my opinion.

The fact that that it's from Liam who gave us the best remaster we've had so far for free, means I will certainly get this.

I think that's a tad harsh when there's more than you'd get in a usual gameplay/livery pack, which is a new livery and 5 scenarios.

With this you get 7 new power car variants, plus the full GWR and FGB HST sets, a new barrier coach wagon with 2 variants, 6 scenarios and new timetable services on 2 routes and compatibility with all route timetables with the GWR HST.

I would mention the updated audio and new interactive features, like the manual lamps or working Mk3 toilets, but those were already ported from this to GWE HSTs as a free update so you can freely mix and match what you like without compatibility issues.

It’s looking like it’s going to be separate from this pack. I thought it would have been a part of this pack but not looking like it… which makes me think the Scotrail HST might be coming with a route. Here’s hoping. And we are still waiting on it being announced so hopefully that’s not too far away also…

GDG Liam just for clarification, does this pack give the full FGW blue "dynamic lines" livery to the Blue HSTs and MK3?

It includes the unbranded blue version. We tried to get the FGW license again but no luck still.

Thanks for the reply, still day one purchase for me. Will be nice to see the HSTs doing the full Riviera line in their full 7/8/9 coaches

New liveries, New services and new scenarios plus a Mark 1 barrier coach to enable new formations.

The run down of services by HSTs out of Paddington and the final day is something that is dear to many enthusiasts that was there and is a part of Railway history.

This isn't a cash grab like the GBR 802 which doesn't offer anything new.

Sadly I need to pass on a day one purchase here, not because I don't think it's worth it's price, but last month was rather packed and this month I'm on vacation for two weeks, there's not much cash left for DLC.

Will get it next month though at full price, it's too fine a pack to not get Liam what he deserves for his hard work with the remasters and the HST pack.

Also two Welsh dragon liveries? How could I pass on that to begin with?

    Well done Liam, well done!

It's fine if you don't see the value in the pack, but that doesn't mean that others aren't allowed to see value

Wait, there are working toilets inside the MK3 coaches? Is this already in the game? Had no idea! :D

Also, I normally don’t really buy gameplay packs, but I’ll definitely consider this once it’s discounted. Will add a nice splash of color to many routes, comes with unique services/scenarios, and directly rewards Liam for the great work he has done with various remasters.

I feel like for this pack we really need a WCL V2, extended to Plymouth, set to modern day and with a TT to last year of ops for the HST, and/or mirrored to/with Riviera line to truly represent its use

£12.99 is too steep for what is essentially a livery pack.

At the time detested by spotters but loved by the public, the IC125 is probably one of the few good things that BR did in the 70s. I will surely pick this up. To be honest I spent more on a KFC yesterday.

A bit of a shame 43172 Harry Patch livery wasn't included in this pack.

This one was down to licensing, being a FGW livery, so we couldn't use the livery or artwork.

Yep, bad mistake on my part. In my excitement of all things HST I somehow managed to miss the glaring "GWR" in the thread headline !

Fortunately I spend much more time on the remastered GW route and Riviera than I do on Fife Circle these days, so this will definitely be getting snapped up tomorrow :)

It would be interesting to understand why the license holder would not want to support a livery for a train that already exists in the game, that theoretically needs little more than an artwork sign-off by them. GDG Liam do they give any specific reason, that you might be at liberty to share, or is it a blanket "no, goodbye" ?

From what I understand they would rather be represented as the brand they are now than what they were before. This includes FGW branding as a whole and the FGW 'Harry Patch' livery.

I now have already blurry textures on GWE and have to disable layers to get rid of it. On this moment I only have the layers from SEHS and IS 2022 enabled, as soon as I enable WCML I get blurry textures. What is the point of bringing extra DLC to the route on console when blurry textures are still an issue?

I appreciate the work is still going on, however releasing DLC's making the problem worse on routes is maybe not the most smart move. First fixing the issue on a route and after that releasing the DLC would be a better idea in my opinion. For now I'm holding back on buying new stuff, the release of the BR147 reminds me again why that's a smart idea.

The issue going forward is until you sort this issue, the gaming experience is going to be diluted for everyone. Consolers will suffer with the blurry textures and pc players will suffer with leaner timetables and low res, poor textures as seen on the latest 90 release. You need to decide who your target audience is rather than try and capitalise from everyone. These issues have gone on for so long, it really is very poor that there’s no solution to it by now.

Considering we are over 4 months in since it was a priority and we have yet to see one blurry route fixed I don't buy it.

I don't believe you are since you have repeated the same thing for the last 3 roadmaps and still nothing.to show for it on our side.

Looks to me like its business as usual and those with blurry textures oh well. Lets just keep telling them what the problem is and say we are fixing it and showing no proof.

Let be fair here a bit the Czech route, NYC, and MVL don't seem to be affected by blurry textures. But honestly they don't have enough variety of stock to have been a problem like the routes that have the blurry textures anyways.

So i don't buy you are working on it anymore. I think they were wrong and hit brick wall and are now trying Plan D.

I didn't know about poor textures on the class 90, is this because of optimization or is because of something else? The route from Firefly do not have blurry textures and I also haven't seen anyone complaining about low quality textures.

Well, DTG sells the game to both console and PC players, so both are their target audience. I suppose losing one of them will be an issue because of the loss of income. Timetables become larger, but also route choices do enlarge the problem, often it's going wrong with blurry textures and performance issues around those big cities. The reduced timetable on Frankfurt S-bahn was not really a big success, a lot of console players complained about it and didn't buy the route. They choose to include Flughaven Fernbahnhof and Frankfurt HBF Hoch, well this was not needed for the S-bahn trains. In my opinion they better leaved those out and instead made a simplified low texture Frankfurt HBF, not accessible and only as distance scenery. This would give room to some AI traffic on the route and this route is about S-bahn anyway and not about IC, ICE and regional trains.

The problem with blurry textures started with TSW5, so that's around 1,5 year back and nothing has changed. So I'm totally with you and do not buy any new stuff. I have almost no TSW5 routes and no TSW6 routes because of this, the GWE remaster made it again pretty clear why I better do not buy new stuff.
