by this i mean a route you may not have played for months, maybe even years but once you gave it another try it reminded you why you bought it in the first place, and you played it for days on end and was your go-to route until you’d got bored of it again? for me it’s wcmlos, it was nice when it came out but i got bored of it after a few runs, played it again on wednesday and I’ve now done 4 full-length runs a day every day. the 87 is a thing of beauty and if it wasn’t for preston crewe coming out soon, i’d be picking up the 86 as well. we definitely need more BR electric in tsw, coming from someone who was born 20ish years after the route is set (1986 i believe?) and has grown up surrounded by modern emus and never really understood the hype about the BR days
Definitely the Morristown line for me. I remember trying it when TSW6 first came out and was mega excited for it but the frame rates were just too low! Come February 2026 and once I got a new PC, I never stopped playing it, it was so fun and I love the ALP-45.
this one’s a very underappreciated route, i think lots of people assume because it’s dtg and a US route it’ll be mediocre but it’s quite an impressive piece of work. i’m a big fan of the alp-45 too, sounds great and very powerful
This is a good topic, as it came to my mind today! Cathcart Circle has been fired up for the first time in a long time. It was the first ever “remaster” of sorts and it is fantastic, fix the Class 380 brakes and it will be even better, as the unit apart from that is faultless!
another great pick. yeah, the brakes as well as lack of passengers really damages the experience unfortunately
Also another vote for Cathcart Circle. There's always something happening, Glasgow Central feels alive with the constant train movements.
Linke Rheinstrecke for me. The views never disappoints, the era of the route is amazing and the BR628 is so fun to drive on this route.
Edinburgh to Glasgow for me, mainly for the HST’s and giving them a good thrash on a different line, as I mainly only drive them on GWE and Riviera with them. I know this route is inaccurate in places, but I still enjoy it for what it is.
Euston to MK. At first it was meh, and of course the timetable was not complete. After the fixes I really got into it and drove many miles on it.
I only got into Cathcart after the release of the 380 and the remaster. Like you said, really busy environment and always something to see.
same one for me, i’ve accumulated 6500 miles (not sure if this is a lot!) but it’s my most driven route in terms of miles by far
Even at an average speed of 100 miles an hour that’s 220 hours in game on this route. After checking my drivers log my highest average speed on WCML is only 64.64mph which would be a whopping 340 plus hours. I tip my hat to you sir
how have you got that many? i assume lots of 390 runs, the 350 is good but it takes about an hour to complete the same length if you’re running slow
having a broken leg and not being able to do much so I just killed this game and picture just show you.
Liked it too ,driven lots on it , until passengers disappeared at Euston , which they don’t fix ,is a shame!
I’m enjoying SEHS at the moment. The 395 with the French in-cab signalling is unique and makes for a fun drive IMHO. I’d love to see a 92 on it…
I've got to give that honor to Tharandter Rampe. When it first came out and I first played it, I wasn't particularly fond of it as I felt like there were a lot of things missing out of the route. However, now all this time later playing the route again, I find it fairly enjoyable. It's definitely got It's downsides and questionable choices but I do like the scenery.
-_-LivvuAurora-_- you beat me to the punch... I just wanted to mention Tharandter Rampe too Over two years ago I bought it mainly to get my hands on the 612, but didn't do much with the route itself despite enjoying it overall (The 143 isn't my cup of tea and the Dosto is just awfully boring). Recently I rediscovered it after months of not using it. And fell right back in love Yes it has its issues and is quite (out)dated at this point, but it feels very unique among the other German routes. Travelling along it with the 612 and its tilting mechanism is lots of fun! And I can recommend using the 145 for freight there, it fits the route very well and attacking the gradients takes some planning ahead Not the freight service from Dresden to Freiberg around noon though, that one's broken...
Vorarlberg. Did play it some time at the beginning of TSW4, then forgot about it for a while. I did visit the region on holiday and got back into the route after that. I like the service patterns, the ÖBB 4024 is a great unit to drive and the freight services are pretty good.
Going to add one more to this “The Berninalinie”. I played this for the first time in like 10 months last night, and was mildly upset for passing a red signal half way through the route and spading. Over one hour of my life wasted I forgot how breathtaking the scenery is and tranquillity it offers. I didn’t even realise they fixed the safety systems on console too so that was a nice added bonus. I’m going to try and complete a full run tonight, this time without spading
Antelope Valley Line. I think I played it a total of 3 times since the release of TSW4 and had never done a full run of the route. I recently did a full return service and it was tremendous!
And I kinda switched to München - Augsburg now as I got excited for Ingolstadt - Nürnberg. It's better than I remember (except the old lighting of course )
Arosa Line. Haven’t played it much but recently went back to it and I had a really good run with it. Enjoyed it. Even though the scenery is needing a major upgrade it is one really good pleasant drive. It’s cool starting from the bottom and just working your way up to the top of the mountain. It actually feels rewarding. I really do hope we get a TOD4 upgrade for Arosalinie one day. Great route.
I recently started play blackpool branches again. I played it alot when it came out then just forgot about . You know other routes come and got push aside. Its still such a great route.
