Hello everyone, I present to you my itinerary project from Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Chambéry, which is located in the French Alps, more precisely in the Savoie department, known for its breathtaking mountains and its large alpine ski resorts. You have probably already seen this project on my TikTok (@netroxtsw), and today I decided to post it on the DTG forum because it is starting to make good progress. Presentation of the train route : This 105 km route, located in the French Alps, passes through the mountain valleys. This route includes 11 stations, with the three main stations being Chambéry-Challes-Les-Eaux, which is the busiest station in terms of services, Albertville, which is a station with a small peculiarity that you will discover later, and Bourg-Saint-Maurice, which is the terminus station that leads down to the ski resorts, which also has a peculiarity: it is connected to the "Arc en Ciel" funicular that goes straight to a major ski resort in the valley. In terms of service, this route mainly includes so-called 'TER' (regional) services, but also freight for the Pomblière chlorine plant. It also includes TGV services and night trains in the winter. The landscape and the environment: Discover a breathtaking landscape through the French Alps, passing through numerous tunnels, bridges, abandoned old train stations, and picturesque valleys, as well as urban areas, fields, and vineyards. On this route, you will mainly follow the RN90, an important national road for the valley's economic activity, as well as the Isère, a large river that grows as you descend to the lower valleys. Start from Chambéry at an altitude of 270 meters and climb to Bourg-Saint-Maurice at 850 meters above sea level. New picture! Currently building the Môutiers Salin station! I'll show you the pictures once it's well underway. You can notice that the scenery has changed from the TSG model to a mix of DTG and TSG because I find the TSG scenery too bright or too light.

I wonder too ! If I recall correctly, Île-de-France trains were used to provide extra capacity on this route during the peak season in the past... I seem to recall V2N (hauled stock), Z2N (double decker EMUs), and even Z5300 units...

Nice catch there ! The first image likely shows a VO2N (rather than a VB2N), the most notable difference being the door-opening mechanism (push-button on VO2Ns, lever on VB2Ns). Most likely one of the trainsets that operated a good part of the peak-hours outer-suburban ("grande couronne") services from Paris Gare de Lyon to Laroche-Migennes, from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. At that time, these trainsets also occasionally operated additional services between Dijon and Paris. The CC 6500 locomotives were not equipped for push-pull operation, that's why they had to "changer d'bout" every time they needed to head back in the other direction !
