Yes, please not another Electrostar era line. I mean the rework on MV is excellent but I would like to hammer a CEP/BEP and VEP. I would also suggest an 80’s route extend through to Folkestone and include the Harbour branch.
This I would love to see. If you set it around 1990, we might eventually see some 421 and 423 VEP slam door trains at long last and spare us from the "Not another Electrostar line" chorus for variety. In addition, you could also include Dover Marine Station and the Western Docks, which closed in 1994.
Firefly studios A future project that should be highly considered. Pointing fingers at Firefly since they currently released a Southeastern route. I would love to see this happen and would make for an interesting route. Sign me up.
A slamdoor EMU really should be considered at this point to satisfy the older generation of rail fans. Keep the route modern though with modern rolling stock, but include an alternative timetable for the train in question. Keeps everyone happy that way.
I agree and desperately miss those trains having commuted to work and traveled on Slamdoor EMUs from Norwich to Bournemouth on one axis and Folkestone to Bletchley on another over the course of 34 years. They are an essential part of the Network South East area history. I want to fall in love again with their sounds, clatter, grinding motors, noisy compressors and bouncy seats. It's a shame TSW won't be able to recreate the smell of grease, hot brake blocks and BR standard cleaning fluid.
Nice, however I'd like the route to go to Cannon Street and Charing Cross. We've been starved of third rail main lines out of the capital since Victoria to Brighton, and with the busy timetable aside, you're left with a route with quite poor scenery. The bar needs to be pushed higher, also having it in the slam-door era would make it more exciting (for me anyway).
All that effort and money being spent on AI and yet big tech still can't give customers the things they promised us in the 70s.
I have suggested Hastings to London Charing Cross in the past, but sometimes I feel like I wasted my time in doing so. Yes, the full length is about 1 hour 47 minutes depending if its slow or fast service, but there are also services that terminate at Tunbridge Wells from London and you could even do the 1066 service terminating at Tonbridge to split up the distance.
You've probably not wasted your time and you are not alone. While I've correctly predicted a couple of routes before they were made, none of my actual suggestions have come to TSW....yet. I think the Hastings line would be a great route, I love the TSC version. I think it's got a good chance of being made at some point. This may be the sort of route they want to tackle once we have a more robust game core (for the console players in particular). Keep on advocating for what you want, you never know what's on their wishlist and South Eastern's area will get more content, I'm 99.9% convinced it will.
