thanks a ton, downloaded that pdf, looks super useful ... anyway, what would happen if you happened to stop there - IRL vs in-game
ok, so I ran the service a couple times, with the help of save game as well... so I approach Stuttgart, go into 30 kph... then I cross a magnet, 500 Hz, so I slow down to 20, just in case... and I even tried PZB Override... and I still get penalty brake as soon as I am crossing between the two locos that stay on different tracks... am I doing sth wrong or is it a bug? edit: I tried holding PZB Override as I was going over the magnet as I was passing in front of the 218 stationed nearby... still got penalty brake... what the hell am I supposed to do? no signage, no signal... just 500 Hz magnet and then out of nowhere penalty brake upon next magnet... like... am I supposed to stop before the next magnet and then proceed?
I have tried even 10 kph over the next magnet, and I still get penalty brake... like... I get the 500 Hz, I slow down to 20, and over the next magnet, I get penalty brake edit: tried multiple times... slow speed... I even tried halting completely before the next magnet and then proceeding super slow... still got penalty brake... edit no.2: definitely a bug... I even tried stopping before the magnet, and then got to crawl at 5 kph... still got stopped so, I sent a ticket... damn, not even removing the train on the other track helped... nothing... will try playing a different service, see if I get the same treatment
sorry for multiple posts, but I post feedback as I go ... so, did a different service, this time I managed to get to Stuttgart Hbf without issue... like, I got that 500 Hz, thats ok, and then my service changed track to the left of those parked 218s (in the bugged service I went to the right, towards the bugged magnet), and proceeded at 20 kph towards my platform, and flawlessly stopped at the buffer anyway, just OCD-ing over stuff, there is a loco symbol on the right screen, is there supposed to be the lightning or not? cos in some videos I saw it just white/blank, and in some there was the red lightning... I know it is the train line power, but I wonder which is the correct state to show (and if it matters in-game):
My guess is that either you messed up with save game (which still breaks scripts on most locos, not sure why people keep trying to use it), or you messed up with illegal release from monitoring
RB 19963 - Heilbronn Hbf to Stuttgart Hbf... this one, no matter what I did, I got penalty at the magnet after the 500 Hz one... tried a different service and that one sent me to another platform, but I didnt get penalty on the second magnet
nope... I tried the service like 3x like restarted it, still got the penalty as for illegal release, also no - I had a PZB monitoring and I didnt mess with it, it released on its own, then I got the 500 Hz magnet, and even though I was going 20 kph for the second magnet, I still got penalty brake (released on its own also on the other service I tried, but didnt get penalty on the second magnet after the 500 Hz) I will try one more run on that specific service, just for the peace of mind
just to confirm, ran the service again, got the penalty again... going 20 kph under 500 Hz restrictive... so this one is definitely bugged
Yes, I can confirm there is something weird in the PZB behaviour when entering Stuttgart hbf platform 4. When I drove RB 19963, I've firstly got 500 hz magnet which did not cause emergency stop, but it started to count speed from 65 kph. Few meters after this I was zwamgsbremsed (my speed at that moment was 20 kph). Then I've tried to go from Stuttgart depot to the platform 4 and I've just got 500 hz magnet (without ZB), and was not stopped until I stop in the station. It is all just weird.
What is not clear to me is why, once in Heilbronn, bringing up the TSW route map shows a station to the NE as Suelmertor. I cannot get there on foot in free roam. That is Heilbronn-Sülmertor as the first station towards Neckarelz ( which will be where the proposed Neckartal route ends.) Is access to Sülmertor station part of a Mastery reward ? Is it hope that Heidelberg trains will one day reach Mannheim ? The RE trains thru Sülmertor are Heilbronn-Mannheim trains. And there is a pedestrian overpass now just SW of Sülmertor to link academic buildings for students and staff. It is very noticeable after crossing the river IRL.
That's something I noticed on a couple of newer routes, the inclusion of stuff on the map which isn't accessible or even completely built. Two good examples on this route are the harbour area of Heilbronn, especially the northern end, and the industrial area west of Ludwigsburg. Both are accessible, but they look rough to say the least. Same thing on Liberec-Stará Paka for example. On the map, there's a load of small branch routes, industrial connections and a couple of small stations around Liberec, but only a small part of it is accessible/built.
I drove the IR 2403 from Heilbronn to Stuttgart with the BR 218 locomotive. I switched to photo mode at the Neckar bridge in Heilbronn and at the station in Bietigheim-Bissingen. When I tried to switch back to the game, I was teleported below the map. I couldn't get back into the driver's cab and had to restart the service both times. I didn't have this problem at Stuttgart Hbf. I also noticed lighting issues in the Prag Tunnel, where some sections of the tunnel are as bright as day. While the overall performance of the route isn't unplayable, it's unpleasantly choppy throughout the whole route. I'm playing on PS5.
The under-the-map bug after photo-mode happens to me, too quite often. Seems kinda random, sometimes it happens, sometimes not - I have it on any route with any loco. But you can get back to the cab by pressing the "1" key. Sometimes the game is also still in kind of a "pause" mode, when coming out of photo mode, then I have to press "esc" for the menu and a second time "esc" to go back to the game and it will run normal again.
Thanks for the tip, but I'm playing on PlayStation without a keyboard. I've encountered this issue on other routes before. Usually, reopening photo mode and returning to the game fixed it. But this time, nothing worked.
I believe it might be either for the AI services to have some paths to go to or possible areas that might have been worked on but didnt make the final cut due to time or whatever restraints, I guess
Of course, I can't say for certain on PlayStation, but I assume there must be corresponding keys or key-combinations for the same functions. Maybe those help, too. (On PC, 1 is the cab-view, 2 the "orbiting" outside camera, 3 the closer outside view, 8 the free camera ect ... I guess/hope on PS there is a key or something for those things, too)
Just wanted to point out, on the Wittenberger Cab the "HS aus" (MCB off) indicator light bug introduced with the patch at the start of April is still there...
On the original timetable, with the BR 110, the second of the two AE 1371 services (the one starting at 09:55) can't be completed. It requires me to move the loco around the train, stopping at the little track stump 446 at Kornwestheim. While this track 446 has got an OHLE, it has no power, leaving me and my loco stranded there. Doesn't seem to affect AI trains though, since I've seen AI driven locos do this service without a hitch.
Maintalbahn still has a broken service for the BR 363 (EZK 54874) in both timetables, despite multiple people having filed tickets about it back in the day. Mittenwaldbahn still has a couple of broken preparation/dispatch services in the BR 111 part of the timetable, despite multiple people having filed tickets. Sadly, tickets are not always what they're cracked up to be All the issues I noted above have multiple mentions in the respective feedback threads, mind you. Didn't help much, obviously. But I'm not one to give up hope quickly
That's why I asked exactly that in the last roadmap Q&A Matt's answer gives me hope that we might see the 294 there... someday.
You, too? Thought it was only me. I do wish the 110 would get more services in the 2000 timetable, since they were very present back then. Kind regards. PS. The best way to draw attention is by writing here. Had similar experiences with the Ticketing system
There's a workaround for completionists: 1. Drive to the track stump 446, stop there and trigger "Objective Completed". 2. Change cabs, do NOT sit down and wait until the "Do you want to give up service blablabla ..." message appears. 3. Answer "YES" and position yourself close to the driver seat. 4. The AI driver will now take over and drive you close to the train. He'll stop 2m before coupling. 5. Now point to the AI driver and take over the service. The AI driver goes ........*pooooof* 6. Now sit down, take control, couple to the 8 vehicles and .......... voilá. You won't get any action points but completed at least the service.
I've already completed almost all the services with BR294 using the replacement mod. And the unofficial mod works perfectly.
Since positive feedback is feedback too: Sometimes it's the smallest things which bring me the most joy... I wanted to mention this a couple of times already, but always forgot. When doing a double heading service with the 140, the second loco's traction power always stays a bit below the leading one's. Just as it should be, great attention to detail
I'll put this here beacuse I don't know where else to put it... Just noticed a little typo in the Bnrdzf 463.0 cab car... been using this one on so many routes over the years, how come I didn't notice it earlier? I'm a little embarrassed now, actually In the PZB block, the "Befehl 40" indicator light actually reads "Befhel 40": This has spread across all versions of the cab car from all routes, except for the diesel version included in the 218 pack.
Can anyone tell me if a comprehensive livery mod exists for this route? I like the idea of the route and especially the 140, but not in Verkehrsrot (which very little rolling stock was yet wearing in 2000, chiefly the 101s and 423s since they came from the factory that way)
So doing the journey with the 147 and going to heilbronn and I get a bnrdzf 483. Why does this function probably i cant use the run up only the power %.
The 147 is not a tap changer loco. So you can only control it using the tractive effort percentage domain control on the cabcar. The same happens with any modern locos like 146,101. Only the 110/111 and probably the 143 derivatives you would control via the tap changer.
First of all, thanks for fixing the "HS aus" indicator light on the Wittenberger cab That's the positive side. The negative is that the update introduced a new bug, also on the Wittenberger cab... The traction indicator is completely broken now. On Stuttgart-Heilbronn it doesn't seem to work at all, while on Frankfurt-Fulda it works fine for traction, but when braking the indicator also moves to the Fahren/traction side instead of the Bremsen/braking side. Also, when neutral, the indicator is now slightly inclined towards the Fahren/traction side.
I can confirm that the traction gauge does not work with a class 111 locomotive propelling the consist. Also the voltage gauge always shows 15kV whether pantographs are up or down. However with the 145 expert propelling the consist everything seems to work OK. Line voltage correctly corresponds to pantograph state & traction / brake gauge works as expected. So in fixing the 145 the 111 compatibility has been broken!
@A Brailsford But there wasn't an update for the BR 145 Expert at all. That's because this update was removed from the list of available updates on May 28.
I've noticed that too. Also, the door handle does not work at all in the cab car. It does not move when opening the doors.
Finally got this route and I really like it. I'm so glad you were able to add mixed rakes of n-wagen. Some observations. It's a shame you can't walk from the high level to low level at Stuttgart Hbf - this would have been really neat. At the very least I'd expect to be able to hop between the two but that doesn't seem to be possible. Twice I've been told I've found a toy car collectible, but nothing appears visible. There is an invisible wall stopping you going up the stairs to platform 1 at Lauffen.
Getting quite blurry textures in the cab of the Wittenberger cab car which makes it hard to drive. Also saw a G6 on an AI train - I don't mind a bit of leeway era-wise, but...
One thing, in particular about the original timetable: While it's great that the BR 294 does sub in for the 363, it can also bug things up bigtime. For example, I just did service FZ 55545 from Kornwestheim to Heilbronn. For these types of long distance services the 294 is the much better choice, while the 363 is much better suited for all the shunting stuff at Kornwestheim or Stuttgart. But since the 294 is a bit faster, I arrived at Heilbronn early and was let in via track 42 of the Heilbronn freight yard, and had to stop there because my destination (Heilbronn Hbf platform 8) was still occupied by an oncoming freight train, FIR 51177. Said train couldn't leave the platform though, because its route takes it along Heilbronn Gbf track 42 too, which I was occupying. Classical Mexican standoff. Once I deleted my own train (!) FIR 51177 could leave freely. Would work much smoother if the timetable were designed so that the 294 would be the sole option for the long-distance freight services, and the 363 relegated to yard duty. This way, both of them would be in their natural environment
I drove EX-1884 - for some reason, the performance was very sluggish, with the speed topping out at 60 km/h until I reached Ludwigsburg. On the completion summary, there were countless speeding icons despite the red line being well within linespeed. It's almost as if the service was capped at about 70 km/h, even though it's a 101 hauling coaches rated for 200 km/h.
From today's update notes: Stuttgart Heilbronn Wittenberger cab car can now correctly control BR 145 Expert and BR 101 Expert locomotives Update to ensure BR 111 control remains fully functional If the second sentence was aimed at the Wittenberger cab too, nothing has changed... With the BR 111 in the rear, the traction/braking indicator still doesn't work. And the OHLE voltage indicator is still stuck at 15 kV too.
However, that would make the line freight services available only for 294 DLC owners. Just make a mental note to keep your speed down to- what is the 363 limited to, 60?
My mistake, sorry... completely overlooked the date Well, that's how the game works... to quote from the release article: The full list of additional layers is as follows: BR 111 Dosto services from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn BR 425 services from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn Mixed freight services from Ruhr Sieg Nord Shunting substitutions using the BR 294 locomotive from Train Sim World 6: Deluxe and Special Editions ICE 1 and ICE 3 traffic from Kassel-Würzburg ICE-T traffic from Frankfurt-Fulda IC traffic from the original DB BR 101 Add-on Auto and Nachtzug trains using stock from Bremen-Oldenburg and Linke Rheinstrecke DB BR 218 services, using Linke Rheinstrecke coaches AI DMU services from Niddertalbahn ÖBB EC AI traffic from Semmeringbahn BR 423 services from Frankfurt S-Bahn Turning the 294 from a sub to a layer wouldn't make things more complicated (or costly, from a DLC point of view) as they already are for completionists The 363 has no business being on main line duty anway, at least in that era. And with a 400+ tons freight train no less. I know it has seen wide use for stuff like that in the past, and even passenger services on smaller branches sometimes, but from the 90's onward it has pretty much been relegated to yard duties (which it excels at, to be fair). Meanwhile the 294 has been designed with those kinds of services in mind, hence why it's a bit faster. Actively limiting my top speed when I shouldn't (I'm enough of a hindrance on the mainline with 80 km/h already) isn't the best option in my eyes.
