I've noticed that the NJT Multilevel Cab car will not apply traction until the brakes are in release, and with a considerable delay, leading to an inevitable rollback. This makes it difficult start even a small upward grade, and impossible if you are stopped in the uphill approach to NY Penn. I feel like the cab car will let the traction load up when in EP-hold to prevent roll back, similar to how you would start uphill from the locomotive. Am I missing something?

The only solution I've found is to release the brakes and apply a fair amount of power (e.g., setting 5-7 on the power control). The train will rollback for a bit until the power kicks in. Then it will slow down, stop and start accelerating forward as normal. This will work, although I can't imagine it's the 'official' way of performing a hill start.

Me too. I can't exit from Denville. Small uphill and curve (more friction). What can we do?

Disabling EP-Assist solves the problem. EP-Assist is to prevent roll back in upward grade. Sometimes it works well but sometimes let the locomotive braked all time. I don't know exactly why.

Now it works. Maybe it's a bug, an incorrect starting configuration. You must release brakes in locomotive:

    - Enter locomotive
    - Put inverter lever
    - Select Neutral mode in inverter
    - Push On button in brake control
    - Release the brakes
    - Push Trail button to configure the locomotive brake system as pasive.
    - Put the brake lever in Handle Extraction mode

Now you can drive the multilevel control car and, whe brakes are applied locomotive are applied too, and when brakes are released locomotive too.
