One thing in the modern day railway that will always frequently run wherever you are on the railway network is the Colas operated test trains. This fleet of class 37s, 43s, 73s, 153s and Mk2 DBSOs along with their Mk1, 2 and 3s operate a range of test trains from Ultrasonic to Plain Line Pattern Recognition and the famous New Measurement Train, also known as ‘Flying Banana’. I think it would be quite nice to have these service incorporated into the game as an addon that will cover most modern day mainline routes, with a variety of services using the different stock, I would also like to see the DBSO not just work with a 37, but the majority of other locomotives in the game to allow for free roam versatility. I have some images (not of my own) attached for reference to these test trains:
Could also add in a Colas Thunderbird pack. Colas have two 67s on Thunderbird duty ATM and also had a 70 when one 67 wasn't ready. Could be interesting if faults were simulated properly, would be fun to run on the ECML at a random time of day to haul a striken 91 (it's basically always a 91) and see the timetable play havoc. Does rely on DTG implementing it well though.
Always a great idea to add more locos and rolling stock , don't know myself what's up with the licensing , don't mind unbranded rolling stock but prefer myself were possible to always obtain official branding
I have a colas livery 37 I made myself but my problem is getting the coaches into the consist. I've spawned 37s but the EPX one doesn't couple to the GWR 43 coaches, and the MK1 yellow liveries never show up in my livery list even despite creating some test train liveries for them. Anyone had any success using the EPX (or West Cornwall 37) and using a custom livery coach?
I have noticed that the EPX 37 only will use the hook & loop coupling on one end of the loco, and the West Cornwall Local 37 always keeps its number in livery designer, which I’m not a fan of, then the TVL 37 isn’t even compatible with livery designer, personally I feel that even though there are 3 37s in the game, there’s not a good option for livery designer, and that needs looking at. As for the Mk1s having issues, I also have found that I also have issues spawning in the correct version, there are so many that get across each other and never spawn the one that has been edited, which is also very annoying, and I end up having to make 3 or so copies of the same livery in every single Mk1 possible in livery designer to finally get one to spawn (If I can at all).
