The problem is, from the cheap seats over here, DTG also seem to be ignoring the polite, constructive and well reasoned feedback too. And it’s inevitable the collapse of Metro Rivals, the lack of support for TSC and seemingly increasing lacklustre support for TSW is going to raise concerns about the state of the company by paying customers. To paraphrase a quote from the movies, “Welcome to the layer cake son.”

That's my main gripe at the moment. Right now, on the feedback forums especially: If I post some issue I have no idea if it has been noticed/acknowledged by someone who is in position to do something about it. In connection with the duration it currently seems to take to fix about anything, this takes away my motivation to post any issues at all.
Once again, TSG shows how it should be done. They are usually very responsive in the feedback forums of their works, and seek a dialogue with the community. Just look at the forums for the E94 pack or the BR145.
This I'd love to see more often from DTG too ;)

These CM messages that issues have been logged usually only happen once per thread anyway, so they feel equally pointless.
I mean, would it blow the budget if a CM would go through a feedback thread, let's say, once a week and then post a short list of which new issues have been logged? Would show the community that they are being listened to. Feedback goes both ways.

Although I have to admit this would work the more... demanding... part of the community into a frenzy. I can already see the usual trolls jumping up and down their keyboards if some logged issue hasn't gotten fixed within 3 workdays.

I've said in the past, I do wish that the opening post in each official feedback thread was updated regularly with a list of known issues that have been raised, and their status (i.e. 'under investigation', 'fix in testing', 'QA cleared for next available patch', etc.). Otherwise giving feedback just feels like so much shouting into the wind.

SimRail do something like this in their Bug forum. They will actually mark items as open, label duplicates or note if not regarded as a bug. They are then updated as necessary. Without wanting to cause any upset this is exactly what the large establishment of CM’s should be doing.

Even if they had an extra reaction just "acknowledged" or just drop a helpful react. Just something because as said you just don't know what's recorded and what wasn't

When the ROG 37 came out I was in the feedback thread on day 1 or 2 saying there was no journey mode and asking about that. But it wasn't until weeks later someone else mentioned it on the forums Matt popped up and went "We weren't aware of that, will get it sorted immediately" and there have been a few instances of this over the years.

I think this is one of the main concerns people have, DTGs lack of communication and sometimes even acknowledgement of an issue that upsets the majority of the player base, a simple thread as mentioned above would help alleviate a lot of bad feeling, even if said thread said such and such an issue is going to take a while to fix due whatever reason, i personaly would feel more listened to even if i had to wait for a fix, and surely this would benefit DTG themselves having a central point where detected bugs could reside, you can even expand on this and hold polls on what fixes the community would like to be addressed soonest.

Considering it’ll be a modernization of an ageing sim and will probably break even more, Train Sim MAX, at least it won’t kill people when the bugs inevitably pile up.

    :D:D:D

I’ve been here coming on 5 years now, and the pattern is clear:
    • “new” version every year - everyone moans, I get the free version and wait for a compelling DLC
    • much-anticipated DLC is released - console players bear the brunt, PC players mostly happy apart from the rivet counters
    • DTG promise fixes “soon”
    • fixes get forgotten or swamped by platform incompatibilities in next DLC
    • more moaning, bans, e-war
    • repeat
My survival strategy is to mostly avoid the day one hype, read between the lines of all the moaning, and just enjoy driving the routes that work for me. It’s just a game. One I enjoy more often than not, and one that I take an occasional punt on if something shows up in a sale that looks interesting (WCMLS, ECML, Riviera, Cardiff). I’ve only bought a few day ones, those being the routes I absolutely know I’m going to enjoy (looking at you JT and All Aboard!), and so far that’s kept my blood pressure just right.

    YMMV

TSU will definetly support mods, but not at release. There will be a post-release update soon afterwards integrating mod support. While there is no specific timeframe for this feature, it is aimed to release a few weeks after the full release of TSU (maybe it will also release the earliest with TSU5 or never, but nobody needs to know that).
TSU will also have a World Editor, although this feature is also not ready for the initial full release. There will also be a post-release update soon after release, adding this important feature, together with comprehensive documentation.

This statement is not unrealistic, exaggerations aside.

A video game is generally considered "current" or modern for a period of five to ten years after its release.
However, this time frame can vary greatly depending on the quality of the title, its genre, and post-launch support.
This of TSW (and UE4) is pretty much the limit.
After all, the defunct MR NY would have been developed with a current engine.
And I'm not saying TSW is horrible.
    It's just had its day.

In simulation games, engine age i think is fairly irrelevant, take modern DCS for example, it still uses the same engine (although updated and modified) from back in the Lock On: Modern Combat and Flanker days, to be honest i think most 3d engines used today are at best modified and updated versions of there launch selves, kinda like how modern car and truck engines are still at there heart the same as the 1st internal combustion engines, as for UE4 as engines go, it's not a bad choice, it has good support and a long history over many games, but as a base for a simulation I'm not sure if it was the right choice.

This video (in cloudy weather) is enough to understand what state the graphic resolution of TSW is in 2026.

What is there to learn more about?
Pictures (a video in this case) are worth a thousand words.

OK, I'll file that conversation under "pointless" then.
At this point, this thread might as well be renamed to "Community, are you actually trolling DTG" :o;)

With all due respect, if someone has trouble understanding you, perhaps instead of sarcastically wishing them a wonderful day, it would be a lot more helpful to perhaps try explaining what you said in a different way
