You're told that the patch notes aren't finalised and then you go off on a whole paragraph about the patch not being finished, despite the fact that the patch had already been published at the time of your post. I'm no fan of DTG's methods but that's just whining for the sake of whining. And no, I am not Hentis. People are allowed to quote other people's quotes to put their own reply into context.

It's opinion.... Or am I not allowed one of those either?

If DTG are giving partial information to the Ambassador's who are then passing on these provisional patch notes to the end users, who's going to get the hump when they've watched someone who's hypothesised what else could becoming?

At the end of the day if the patch isn't locked in by the time the announcement was made, and Ambassadors given the green light to talk about it, then the patch would have to have been delayed due to the console certification process.

When I made that comment, the patch had just been pushed, and the patch notes had been pushed to the seperate Announcment forum, and I didn't have that window open.

Thanks for your input on my replies and I'll take no notice of it for future.

jivebunny - Maybe if you don't like my replies or posts you mute me.

So you don't watch any speculation videos? Or never have participated in any speculation threads on these forums.

Sounds a little like your jealous some people got info and access to things before you.

Isn't it strange that official DTG ambassadors, a branch of their PR strategy, get early access and announce things first? Very strange indeed.

    Watch out Beta testers.

And was this “wrong build” business just a smokescreen to cover over putting out exactly what was intended, sadly a plain low quality add on?

The ambassadors agree with you on this one! We've been discussing the need for an up to date list. There is one (not that I could find it when I just looked lol). Last time I saw it some of the people had left and there are new ones since.

What is the point of refusing to drive it when you have given them the money? They don't know you are refusing to drive it!

If you are using steam you can map extra commands to buttons. I have configured the controller to send Q as well as B when the B button is pressed. I also configured a double press of the A button to send 8 so I could get switch to static view easily. In general there is a lot you can do with the tool and it might be useful in general for people with dexterity/mobility issues. Xbox has the Elite 2 controller which has similar options. Not sure if PlayStation has anything similar.

It was another poster who said they refused to drive it.

My point was that they have already purchased it so if it's some kind of protest against it, it is a bit late.

It doesn't, at least not quite. Sony's equivelant would be the Dualsense Edge which was really only about having a couple extra buttons and being able to swap out the sticks for different grips, alter the resistance in the triggers ect. Same concept as the Elite 2 but only half as executed. You can remap controls on it but I don't think you can add new ones, it's more just being about to swap the X and O inputs for example.

Instead for accessibility Sony opted to license this release made by Logitech, with all the buttons able to be swapped out for different labels and the mapping able to be changed. Again though, only within the mapping available to standard controllers.

    I hadn’t noticed because well it’s just a game.

You see I’m not a full on train enthusiast, I just enjoy the game and have a slight interest in trains.
    Nothing more, nothing less.
Why I feel for DTG at times because some members complain just about the littlest of things.
When in a legal sense as long as it works, a fair representation of a model and does the job then what’s the problem.

Nit picking is something no company will entertain.
Real facts or problematic products that again create issues for players.

If I was to nit pick them I’d be here all day. Some don’t have time for that.

This is no offence to you. We all have our individual preferences and rights. In my case ECW newest update did nothing to fix the livery issue. All work missing, can’t re-download for the system still recognises the missing livery’s in the system.
Yet I do wonder if some members or the wider range of outside opinions do pull DTG apart or form a strong opinion based on minor issues or variations.

Ie the noise of the community banging on over this that and the other. Thus losing all control the real problems.
It will make finding any solutions that can be advantageous to both DTG and its community very hard.

    ✌.

By making an educated decision like most things in life.

If it ain’t an official announcement on official sources then it’s fake.

I agree we live in an Ai age but I’m sure it doesn’t mean T Rex still lives on. YouTube is full of misinformation, why would anyone go there.

Attention Attention. I could easily set a YouTube channel up but I’d be joining the masses not escaping them.

Yep it’s just about making an individual choice or decision.

Surly it’s not about holding hands now on telling the public what to watch and what to think.

    This is crazy.

If DTG don't want to use the forum because they don't want to respond to legitimate complaints, that's their prerogative.
I have a woefully incomplete list of bugs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1W7AmfxQzcX5HbXXpqFEJAsp36SpDzdulac2fAs8Xt1k/edit?gid=0#gid=0 Do you think it is acceptable that these bugs remain unfixed?

Thanks to you too. I made an error message getting back to the other lads.

They explained. Like I said to them I’ve not really noticed. Probably because it’s pointless noticing, to raise awareness would be a waste of time in most cases.

I do appreciate what JT has done for fans tho and it appears it’s not always 3rd parties fault. I do bare this in mind so has to be my best route I’d say. A decent product for the length and content. 9/10 if you just wanna drive some iconic locos on such a beautiful route location.

    ✌.

Surprised anyone manages to read through it all to be honest, it’s frankly just spam & this user has long had a weird personal vendetta with DTG. It’s a shame several people gave them the attention they’ve been after for a while now.

Shutting down the forums might be a bit drastic. I don't want to be limited to Discord, Facebook and other social media to get TSW news.

But I'll admit, between the childish, playground arguments and certain folks trying to dominate discussion with long -winded TLDR posts lacking any relevance, I too am losing my desire to read or participate in the forums.

Perhaps some sterner moderation and a limit on words per post might be in order. But, as it stands, I'm rapidly losing interest.

Having looked through that spreadsheet, some of those bugs are genuinely insignificant so for those, yes, I honestly do find it acceptable because it isn't a big deal. A patch for those can just be slipped in when they're looking at something else in the area, so to speak.

On the other hand, admittedly some of them aren't so easy to look the other way from. In those cases no, I do not find it acceptable that the game exists in that form but I won't go harassing or smack talking the developers because of it. I report the issue and ensure that it is known (if someone else hasn't already) and then leave them to it. If it hasn't been fixed or addressed within a few months and I can't see any reasonable delay such as a different issue being tackled instead (Console blurry textures, genuinely unplayable issues in newly released content ect) then maybe I go about reminding them in some way, maybe pinging a CM or asking in the roadmap Q&As. You don't see me creating "Are you taking the p*** DTG?!" forum threads and you never will.

If a bit of content is bugged and annoying you that much then don't bother with it. Play a different addon. Play a different game. Ask for a refund if you're so inclined, "vote with your wallet" as they say. It really isn't that big of a deal.

With that said, on this particular matter I'm done discussing it at this time. As I stated in prior messages I simply have better things to do than, and no energy to, be involved in a long drawn out back and forth on this platform especially. I respect your passion for the matter but I do not share it, and I will leave it at that.

I agree. While I applaud DTG for not censoring criticism unless someone really steps out of line, the forums are becoming a place that I rarely want to participate in these days.

What with some people's made up facts, conspiracy theories and some posters general attitudes, it's just not useful anymore. A lot of the people that were genuinely helpful aren't here anymore and the forum is worse for it.

So many times I start writing a reply and instead of posting it, I think why bother and close my browser.

Discord is no better. The rare times I ventured their I was made to feel quite unwelcome.

I didn't notice it either until I read it on the forum and now it irritates me. However, I'm more looking forward to the Preston Crewe launch and hope that Class 86/47 freight versions will be added as replacements on the Preston Carlisle route. No negativity, I'll not whine on every forum and just wait for it to be fixed. If it's not in this patch, then I'll wait for the next one.

Or you could use there support services and get ignored.

We users/ customers buy a product, if has fallen short of expectations then after sales should be available.
But to gain some clarity here then how many user have used the support services to no avail?.

I’m one. DTG support failed to reassure a customer. Do I not have a right to say when something isn’t right yet the community say no.
It’s just for fake conversations to fit in or belong.

Nothing actually gets said and nothing actually happens. Ironically we are having these conversations and so DTG are now taking things seriously.

From Bad can only be Good. But it takes the hard talking before anything changes.
Is the community at this point. Had enough and want a change.

Or run back to comfort or leaving feedback hoping DTG will act.
Hoping never changes anything, it’s designed to keep a person still.
Yet when a person stands or takes action then that’s when things start to happen.

And the look at this is by anyone’s standards if the information on document of course is true, then is it right players have a gaming experience ruined. Remember each and everyone has their own concerns about TSW.

Getting to the roots of what are real and not are key.

    ✌.

Perhaps we're playing different games. I've been playing for quite a while now, and I certainly have my own list of nitpicks that need to be addressed, and whether they're being addressed or not. If not, I just don't play it. Does the Vectron DB have an issue with incorrectly awarding points for security systems? Well, there's the BR145 Expert, and there's the BR140. I will ride them. We've been waiting a long time for a patch for the BR194 package - you can play on it now. All problems and confusing situations can be found on Google. Sometimes it takes a little time—but what can you do, the game is slow and not as simple as it seems. I already accept the fact that I need to figure out a specific situation as a given. No one will hand you everything on a silver platter. I recently encountered a problem where the Class 08 does not return the brakes from vacuum mode to pneumatic mode by moving the toggle switch. It turned out I just had to press the pressure release lever and everything worked. I spent about an hour on it. Is this a problem? No, it's a feature of the game.

Me too. I could be here all day complaining about what DTG hasn’t done or not.

It doesn’t fix anything or make a difference.

We just expect what’s been said by official sources such as JT or DTG.

I’ve been playing this game for years so given up waiting. If it comes it comes.
If not then each time it just puts me of buy anymore DTG products. Save the cash and walk away.
What’s the point on wasting hours on leaving comments in a comment section across many sources fighting for the attention.
Lost like all the rest. People wasting hours of their lives. You’ll never find a powerful person in a place like that.
Save up or invest not live online 24/7.

And to be fair to DTG or 3rd parties the game they do what they can, I wouldn’t be driving or using the game if it was S#%t.
It’s not. There’s so many issues if looking back at such a large collection of DLCs can in turn make using the game a nightmare experience with lag, blurring, sudden weather changes/lighting effects the list goes on.

A shame because it’s this opinion that can often lead to confusion that TSW is bad full stop.
It’s not, just has quality issues some members (Once loyal members) are no longer prepared to deal with.

If it comes to the old story of rivet counting then I’m out.
A general grievance about product quality and after sales support is a different matter tho.

Finding the facts in all the noise. There’s too much noise.
So any real information is getting lost.

It’s happening everywhere. Only the few have a clue what’s going on behind the illusions.

Anyway might call it day mate. The Wolfs are fighting so I’ll bid you farewell for now.

Oh and to boost the positive I used CC to created these for users.

Or you can just play on PC like I do and all the above problems just disappear and there's not much left to do, except maybe counting rivets.

Part of me really hopes that consoles lose access to TSW, for no other reason than to demonstrate to people [EDIT - Jan - Insulting] what happens to a product when it loses over 50% of its customers.

Hey folks. Appreciate this has been lively thread, but I'm just checking in to ask that you keep things respectful here. I will lock the thread if we continue to get more reports of insulting language used towards other community members, staff and ambassadors.

As always, we want to hear feedback that's both constructive and positive. "This is bad and I hate it and also I hate you, random forum person!" = not constructive or helpful. To anyone. You can have disagreements, but keep the sass at a minimum please.

    Let me correct something first.

I was kinda of speaking from a younger perspective that might be put off or blame the game when it’s not the game.
Ie confused when basic understanding of how a train works is beyond comprehension.
They just see it and treat it as a game.
It’s hard saying without being brutal but here we go.

Are some users taking to the streets complaining when there nothing wrong with the game at all.
I don’t just look past the other media content. So I see how some online players make a meal out of driving a train.
The screen full of drive aids etc. it’s like Blackpool illuminations.
So if it’s a child or parent looking for answers then they might find confused players or content that covers a two hour subject.

It might look bad putting users off, thus damage reputation when it’s got nothing to do with the game.
Any people that lack understanding can turn to frustration because they don’t want to look bad or admit their a little dimwitted publicly.
Hence the game takes all the flack when its users not having any basic knowledge or skills to drive a train.

In fact here’s a true story about how even a skilled technician with GCSE and all that couldn’t get a class 66 on to another track.
He texted me saying the game is bad, I asked why. He explained the train had to be a fuelling point but the train can’t reach it.

I asked if had changed the points..

It went silent. I seen him the next day in work red faced. He never bothered again because he said it was too complicated.
He was the main technician for all the brewing equipment. This is what the game is up against.

This was back in when TSW2020 was around just before TSW2. I watched Matts plays TV driving a 69 I think.
I know he likes to fool around playing with tractors and his mates, miss that from Matts old content. I’m kid at heart myself.

Have fun, has Matt lost his way and so has the joy for TSW in him and the community.

    Anyway I’m going of track.

So to be fair to DTG there is nothing I can’t drive or stops me from doing so. Bar WCML south. It’s doesn’t load or is stable to commit time.
I do think you have raised a good point.
It’s something we the community has to be mindful of.

And DTG too. People that don’t understand or can’t appreciate what the game can deliver to a professional level player.
I mean hand a class 395 to most with all safety systems on and no track assist, just a blank screen for the full experience and they probably can’t even find the door switch.

Get upset and blame the game, most love to complain just for attention and so get led along by YouTubers that fed a false narrative.
It’s wrong and I would agree with you or anyone that DTG or TSW shouldn’t be victim or harassed just because someone is thick.

Why I say and kept saying about DTG working with proper TOCs. Helps audience understand more about rail infrastructure, SAFETY!!!.
The younger audience that might want to be a professional driver.

DTG working with TOCs could help remove misunderstandings in players.
Thus improving their reputation and ability to help promote RAIL SAFETY FOR CHILDREN!.

Come on DTG, Wake up. Ideas boys ideas. Think outside the box. Look what can be done.

    Sorry mate, Passionate that’s all.

DTG can do something but what can I say.

I tried in 2025. All the emails to DTG and to TOCs and even charities.
Ignored any ideas of creating a better environment for train enthusiasts or the TSW user.

The Rail sector and Rail simulator industry work as one.

    ✌.

    Fair comment.

But I’m not on PC. I have a large collection of DLCs.
In a way I’m still emotional invested if I like it or not.
Add the fact the game can be good for most players that see past the small nitty stuff and it’s hard to give up just like that.

I will say something if it isn’t right and yes TSW has some issues depending on the individual.
But I’ve been playing more and more TSW to get more of a feel for what’s expected or being said.

It’s not horrible, it’s not broken, The evidence of thousands or miles, hundreds of completed scenarios screams out I’m not fully broken or dead.

If anything I believe that many narratives are now clashing. All fighting to be heard or number one.
Some say it’s bad some say it needs work and prepared to wait. Have a grumble and jump back on TSW.
Others seeking followers or revenue from YouTube will again jump on any trending topics that offer some form of entertainment.

Bad publicity is better than no publicity. But is it warranted?.

And what would pulling TSW for console actually achieve?.

So I’m not brain dead, just a fool. I’ll accept that if accepted labels are true.

    ✌.

Are you looking into any updates for missing liveries on ECW?. News on AWS for the class 90?.

If the topic is updates then when are they coming for those individual asking?.

I can respect you as a staff member but can you respect me or us as consumers still waiting. It’s not personal, I’m a customer asking questions.

I emailed to discuss privately and failed. Will not chase you (DTG).

Please, you must appreciate that using support can leave consumers feeling more frustrated.
So many people take to media platforms and make it heard.

The problem with decline in early product quality and poor customer services.

    ✌.

Well... yeah, obviously. Everyone has their own strengths in knowledge and expertise. I'm an engineer/DIY person by trade and education, you wouldn't then expect me to know the ins and outs about how fishing works for example, the subjects are completely unrelated. And if I as a result have zero real knowledge on fishing, you wouldn't then expect me to master a full blown fishing simulator in a matter of minutes. Then again on the other hand, I wouldn't expect a full blown fishing simulator to be as simple and easy as the fishing minigame in Red Dead Redemption 2 for example, so there's expectations on both sides that must be adjusted at times.

What's going to happen? Will they take away all my content, which is still worth several hundred hours? Or, oh my god, will they give me blurry textures?

It reads a lot like a posh Google translate attempt.

I'm pretty sure it's fully and genuinely written like that. The wording is too coherent to be translated and there are too many grammatical errors to be AI

If you are using Steam and your controller is connected go to TSW in your library and you will see a controller icon to the right of the play button. Click that icon.
    Click edit layout
Click the settings cog to the right of the B button
    Click add extra command
Select the keyboard at the top of the screen
Click on the Q key on the virtual keyboard
You should now see the B button has two commands B button and Q
    Close the dialogue box

I have never harassed the developers or defended such behaviour.
Well, frankly, it is highly unlikely that your methods will generate any action.

Never accused you, or anyone by name for that matter, of doing that. We both know it has happened, doesn't mean I was saying it was you. Let's just set that straight first of all before that string goes any further.

As for the rest, again, I refuse to partake in the subject any further.

So the patch isn't being held back because of this, it is in active testing and we hope to have it out very soon. Blurry textures can be caused by a wide range of issues. More external factors you introduce on to a route (for example, layers) makes it harder to resolve so as we have mentioned previously, it isn't for us to fully resolve however we have made a wide range of improvements to the route as a team to decrease the chance of them showing and improved general performance and stuttering. We hope to have more info very soon but we have been working hard with DTG to ensure we can deliver the patch ASAP.

Ultimately more layers you have = more chance of blurry textures and those trains ultimately need to be optimised by respective parties across the board to really resolve the issue of texture memory being bloated but of course theres also things at core level that can be done to also help.

Not wanting to stir the pot but I just think this is another excuse to keep people’s true feelings or opinions becoming more mainstream.

Not sure what DTG doesn’t like but if the community is full of grumblings that’s because it’s DTGs forums full of disgruntled customers.

The most iconic thing about is that when just question are asked by DTG ambassadors (No names mentioned) then half the comments left on that video tie in what the public feels.

If DTG don’t like hearing the truth then don’t treat consumers in such a way.

    Simple.

    ✌.

Fully agree. Knowledge of the world around us. Enlightenment for some.

For clarity I tend to look at the situation from a commercial sense.
I’m no CEO or business man on paper yet have gained some insight into the large workings of a financial institution or systems.
    Information.

Games are mostly used for entertainment. However in the simulator market there will be hobby elements to why a consumer would purchase. Ie I have my eye on new Truck Sim games, and Transport Fever 3.
No fancy online games or main stream games like GTA or many others.

So a personal interest, hobby related.
Now that’s fine for people with the ability to understand the basics, even more.
However is that market quite small compared with say those interested in football.
Ie is it cool for a kid to say they like trains or TSW if they get mocked, even bullied.

Could be if taking into account the social aspect to it all. (School, friends, relationships).

Now let’s take the free game pack and bring that into the mix.
I feel this is where the wider problem may fall out of context with what’s actually happening

Now let’s say many people see the advertisements and so take the free game pack.
They might purchase one or two DLC be at full price or on sale, taking into account this person may have no interest or basic understanding of what they’ve bought.
Sucked in by the free game packs. Training Centre.

Yet regardless of the Training Center many don’t have the inclination to be patiently learning about basic training operations.
Ie my engineering friend, He liked the look of TSW and wanted to play but he just didn’t have the right mind to stick with it because there is that hobby element to it.

Have to be interested to stick with the game and franchise.

Those that do will. Myself in having some back ground experience of trains yet have no real interest in railways as a full on enthusiast.
Why you won’t hear me talking in fancy lingo about times tables etc.
Haven’t a clue all that I’ve picked up is the information needed for LD. Depots code, classes and build dates all shorts of deeper information.
That’s all, no more, no less. It’s relaxing to drive trains. I do enjoy it and still here after 6 years.

So I will speak up if something ain’t right. Quality and consistency, after sales experience.

However not all have common sense, it’s might sound hard but it’s a fact of life.
    Natural selection.

So away from those with an enthusiasm and passion/ common sense then the game/ franchise may be unfairly criticised by some that get frustrated. Not because of the game, but because they lack any awareness to what it takes to drive a train or fully grasp track points.
Coupling up, finding the buttons to open the hatch. Or turn of TPWS off to pass red on a controllers say.

If a player is un experienced then to them the game is broken because they can’t fully understand or appreciate the game to remove any negative aspects from their experiences.

Is this the reason for such conflicts when any discussion try’s to focus on a key issue yet gets dragged down into the gutter by those that are more inclined to engage in egotistical nonsense because to talking is not most want. They just want to be heard like the rest.
    The noise of the masses.

Hence the game might take a bad rap, and the community becomes full of egomaniacs, not sensible debates by those not interested in a smear campaign but still be willing to engage with TSW or the forums in whatever light a person wishes or has a right to do unhindered.
