This is absolutely infuriating. I hate the immersion breaking traffic light coloured stop marker, and now in Wonders of Sodor, I have to toggle it on, unpause the game, pause, toggle it off again, and then resume play. This should be a one and done toggle, not every single play session! CORRECTION: This needs to be done after EVERY. SINGLE. STOP! Was this game even playtested before release, or was the entire Q&A budget blown on replacing Matt's cat ears for his pink headphones!?
I haven't owned an Xbox since the 360, but I'd assume in 2026 developers can set up mode shifts on controllers, or at least allow for them. On Steam I play with an old PS3 controller, and to make for a better experience I've mapped the main HUD elements to buttons on the controller, so that I can just enable or disable them by holding down one of the joysticks and pressing the relevant button. Assuming it's possible, surely it wouldn't be a huge undertaking for DTG to set up mode shifts within the game and the ability to change button assignments. JB
