We already have Spirit of Steam but I would like to see it remade as a modern day section of the WCML From Liverpool Lime Street to Crewe Stations Included: Liverpool Lime Street Edge Hill Mossley Hill West Allerton Liverpool South Parkway Runcorn Acton Bridge Hartford Winsford Crewe Trains Included: Class 350 Class 390 Class 805 Class 807 Class 150 Class 197 Class 158 Class 185 Class 331 Class 323
I highly doubt DTG or a 3P would want to sink time and money into a route that already exists, unless it was part of a bigger project. And certainly, IMHO, the route got boring quickly with steam and running with modern traction would be even more so. Again IMHO if DTG want to revisit Liverpool they would be better doing the line(s) across to Manchester, or part of the Merseyrail network.
