Metro-North’s M2 and M4 EMUs were long-lived and legendary, and soon these classic electrics are coming to Train Simulator!

Now let's see them make an M3 for the Hudson Line or the TSW LIRR route.

It could be possible now for TSW. Not saying Definetly. But lets see what Dovetail is gonna do.

Lol are the TSW regulars coming back to TS20 for the M2?

To be fair it is made by Reppo so I don't exactly blame them :)

To be fair when I rode a train through Belgium for the first time (it's mandatory there to honk when entering a tunnel, and that line has LOTS of tunnels) it kinda changes the experience. In retrospect differently than at the time. At the fist time I was still excpecting the emergency brakes to apply next and then a collision with whatever got stuck on the level crussing I assumed ahead. Didn't happen though. And at the third time I was more like, Bruh?! What's happenig here? Murica much?

Took me a while to recognize the corelation between the horn and the darkness of a tunnel shortly after.

We railfans of this game also request the LIRR Main Line or entire system wide, with M1/M3 EMUs, also the Metro North Harlem Line with the M1A/M3A EMUs, and the all the current equipment of the entire MTA New York Railroads

Both liveries are available so you don’t have to use stripes on the M4. Also I wonder why they didn’t do an M6, it’s just a different door chime and window frames are black.

I thought the M2 came with the old livery and the M4 came with the new striped one. Does each unit have both liveries?

I hope they come with both, the article says “two authentic liveries”.

It's really not a big deal, like at all. It's nothing a switcheroo of consist can't fix.. remember that the only difference is there is a married pair, and 3rd car without the conductor's cab.

Yeah, it always seems like when it's something that nobody really cares about, it releases right after the announcement. But if it's something that people have wanted really bad for years, it will take like a month for it to come out after the announcement. Idk.

Yeah, that's right on point. Literally nobody gave a damn about Totham and they released it right when it was announced. It's kinda annoying that this is the first add-on that I've genuinely been hyped for in months and I have to wait for it. It would be nice if we got actual release dates to prepare for it.

I say within 1 week to a month. As the last few US loco dlcs took that long to release (SD9043MAC,GP40X, and ALCO FA)

I hope theres plans in the near future for the M1/M3 to be made for the Hudson Line and for the LIRR in train sim world 2020 but this is a step in the right direction. I plan on using this for my NY Penn connection from New Haven to NY Penn

I wonder if Reppo has plans to make the Budd Metroliner or the Amtrak E60.

I really hope somebody from Reppo sees this. Both would be incredible. If they don't wanna make a full Metroliner MU consist, they should at least do a Metroliner cab car to simulate Keystone trains. I hate having to use Metro North cab cars on my custom Keystone consists.

This is something you are totally not alone with. In fact, I thought I was one of the very few if not only one who thought and noticed this, too. Hate to say it, but, I almost have a strange feeling, being that is something I've been wanting to see in TS for a long time now, that this will find itself being delayed over something that could've been addressed, avoided, or some unforeseen circumstances, like a steam issue. I'm really looking forward to finally operating this thing in TS.

As for the Keystone cab car, they could do what they more than likely did with the M7 for TSW and just port the model for TS, where it would be for more useful.

I'm absolutely dying for both an E60 and a Metroliner, as well as the M1/M3! Maybe someone will be able to edit the M2's model and livery to make that possible?

It’s the end of the week, so my guess is if it’s not next week we might not see it till the beginning of February.

This is amazing news. I can't wait for more Metro North content. This will be a huge plus for Train Simulator. I am really glad to see the Cosmopolitans in the process of being developed for Train Simulator 2020. I have a good feeling that at some point in the near future, maybe we could see an M3-A for the Hudson line, being that the M1-M6 basically share the same body design. Hopefully, it may be possible to introduce the Shoreliners without center doors into Train Simulator.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but an M6 would probably be next, as it’s just a numbering difference, black window frames, and a different door chime.

I think it could be done by anyone who knows how to mod/repaint, so we might see something like that after release. I would go for it to complete the collection, M2/4/6/8.

From what I know, there are little visual differences with the M6. The M6 featured LED marker lights like the M7 while the M2 and M4 have bulb marker lights.

And the fact that M6 has door chimes, the neither the M2/4's had. And that the window frames were painted black to give the illusion that the windows were bigger.

I wish they'd just release this already. I'm getting annoyed that all this random stuff that nobody asked for is coming out but we still have to wait for something that we actually want.
