Came across this signal between West Drayton and Hayes & Harlington on the GWR. There is three of them near each other. Just would like more info on the name and its function. Thanks in advance.
It is a creep signal, used around the country for loading or unloading coal / stone trains at loading and discharge facilities. The signal is showing a 'proceed slowly in the normal direction' aspect, 3 horizontal lights would be a 'stop', and 3 at 45° was 'reverse slowly'. The shunt radio always took precedent though, if they said stop, you stop! We used those at Fiddlers Ferry too, so should be in the upcoming Crewe DLC.
