ROUTE MAP: The Aylesbury - London Marylebone line is a railway line stretching approximately 39 miles (46 miles counting the Princes Risborough branch) over half of the route goes over the London Underground Metropolitan Line from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Amersham. From Marylebone the line runs through a series of tunnels as far as Finchley Road, from where the line runs overground and runs parallel to the Metropolitan and Jubilee Lines. At Neasden Junction, the Chiltern Mainline to Birmingham diverges to the west, while the Aylesbury line continues north parallel to the underground lines. The line then joins the Metropolitan line tracks a few yards south of Harrow-on-the-Hill station and shares this track with the fast Metropolitan line services to Amersham from Baker Street. Beyond Moor Park the line to Watford diverges. Then from Amersham you’ve now left the area of London, running through the Countryside of Buckinghamshire. STATIONS: (LU) meaning London Underground exclusive station LONDON MARYLEBONE HARROW-ON-THE-HILL NORTH HARROW (LU) PINNER (LU) NORTHWOOD HILLS (LU) NORTHWOOD (LU) MOOR PARK (LU) RICKMANSWORTH CHORLEYWOOD CHALFONT AND LATIMER CHESHAM (LU) AMERSHAM GREAT MISSENDEN WENDOVER STOKE MANDEVILLE AYLESBURY AND AYLESBURY VALE PARKWAY (Princes Risborough Branch) LITTLE KIMBLE MONKS RISBOROUGH AND PRINCES RISBROUGH ROLLING STOCK: LONDON UNDERGROUND S8 STOCK TFL (NEW) London Undergrounds S Stock runs a majority of services in the timetable, between Chesham and Amersham as far as Harrow-on-the-Hill BR CLASS 165 DMU (CTN) (REUSED) This DMU would run the full length of the route and the Branch to Princes Risborough, Chiltern Services on the route between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Rickmansworth go non stop and don’t stop at any Underground Station. KEY LANDMARKS ON THE ROUTE: London Marylebone: The Terminus of the Chiltern Mainline and the main hub for all Chiltern Services Chesham: The Furthest London Underground Station from London, and the terminus of the Metropolitan Line Harrow-on-the-Hill - Amersham section: An Interesting section, and one of only places on the London Underground network where Underground Trains run on the same track as National Rail Services. CONCLUSION: In Conclusion, a route such as this would not only be a first in terms of Chiltern being in TSW, but also a case of killing two birds with one stone by Including the S Stock for Underground Services. There is a wide service variety, with short form services on the Princes Risborough Branch and long haul services between Aylesbury Vale Parkway and Marylebone. The Appropriate price for a route such as this would be £29.99, however, judging by what DTG did with NEC Stamford, by including the M8, it could be that this route would be £32.99 due to the S Stock and amount of stations. Hopefully you all like this Suggestion, and Thank you all for Watching!
I would make the Metropolitan line go as far south as Finchley Road as it is the last stop on the Met and Jubilee lines before they all diverge. So that way we have more of the Metropolitan line to uncover.
Nice suggestion though I’m torn on era as I loved the old A60 Met Line stock and I also travelled over both the Aylesbury and Banbury lines quite a bit on the old Class 115 DMU’s.
S8 as then you can layer it onto the Mildmay extension + GWE-R along with ai use for the Goblin at Barking as the S7 which can mix in with the current D-stock we have or replace
This line seems very overlooked so i would like to see some of it, me personally i'd like a little further north like around Banbury
Now that Jimmy Saville is gone/disgraced, this could be done as a fundraiser for Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Howzat!
