Do we really need another Class 730 thread? A quick search reveals quite how many, including this one just last month which you could have posted in support of, or even added to your own minimalist one from 2 months ago. Also, AI-written posts stand out a mile, "completely transform the modern commuter experience" and all.
Not to mention it's another soulless modern EMU with a postage stamp front view that looks even smaller than the Class 385! We need a 310 or maybe a 321 for a retro timetable and a half decent forward view.
i think we do need another thread for it. you could easily make the argument of ‘there’s already a thread, use that to increase demand’, but many threads nowadays go off topic and end up in people bickering about this, that and everything else. i think 10 threads with 25 replies is much more useful than one thread with 300 replies, half of which could be nothing to do with the title
Hard disagree. One thread with a lot of interest has more impact than a number of threads with minimal replies. Anyway, don't take my word for it. I asked about this subject in a stream a while ago, and the response was very much 'quality over quantity'.
To be honest at this point, with their in house route building capacity looking to be severely limited, I wonder if DTG even look at this section of the forum any more. Or does it just serve as an echo chamber these days?
i’m not convinced they do. take the thames valley branches for example; it looks really good from what we’ve seen and i’ll probably get it on sale at some point, but i hadn’t seen a single person request something like that
Well there have been requests and suggestions for the branches but integrated into GWML along with an extension to Oxford.
A very good point. I suspect it's used to gauge what the really, really popular suggestions are for the inevitable yearly release, but beyond that?
on reflection i probably picked a bad example, but there’s several others i could point to. glossop line, mannheim kaiserslautern etc, who requested these?
