This route kind of already exists as part of the Glossop Line route, but that's set in 2023 as oppose to the BR era.

This route was a little bit more than 40 miles long, and as seen on the map, ran from Manchester Piccadilly to the now closed Sheffield Victoria station. Included motive power would need to be the Class EM1 and EM2 electric locomotives, which would become Class 76s and 77s under TOPS (total operations processing system).

To work the local passenger services, the Class 506 should be included.

Timetable layers would depend on the time period that the route is set. If it was set in the late 1970s, layers could include motive power and rolling stock from Northern Trans Pennine, WCML Preston-Carlisle and the Class 86/2.
Ai only services at Manchester Piccadilly could be the Class 87, 86, 101 and 47. Ai only at Sheffield Victoria could be the Class 45/1, Class 47, Class 101 and Class 08.

If the route was set in the 1950s, Ai only layers all over the line would just consist of the Jubilee, 8f and 4f from Peak Forest, and maybe for some playable services.

Woodhead route was one of my favourite routes in TSC, but only the version that had all the passenger stations open. Didn't quite like the later iteration with most of the stations closed down.

i would love to see the line to Wath included in this, as heavy freight would be fun in a Class 76. As this route has been suggested 6 times already, I doubt DTG have any interest in building historic routes from the BR Blue era. I hope that a 3rd party developer like Just Trains decides to make it
Anyway, here's a history of the Class 76 and 77's

Day One, please. IMHO the Glossop Line should have been built in this era, not tedious modern day, then it would have been a good springboard to push on across to Sheffield and Wath.
