i feel like somethings gone wrong in the update process, not the contents because b2c is still running exactly as it was a couple of weeks ago, blurry textures are still occurring immediately after leaving birmingham new street tunnel
Smethwick Galton Bridge platform 3 doesn't have a OFF indicator in game. It has one roughly halfway up the platform
On PS5, I drove a few services with the 350 from BNS to Wolverhampton. Earlier, the blurriness problem would occur here without fail, about when passing Soho depot. The improvement is noticeable. There seems to be a difference between the original timetable and the modern (class 805 timetable). On the original timetable, the blurriness is still very noticeable (better than before though), on the 805 timetable they are hardly there. Just some light jaggedness of the text on the 'max speed 110mph' sticker in the cab, which disappears once you clear Smethwick Galton Bridge. So much better than before, hopefully you can tweak it a bit more in the future.
Because we can't have nice things if it means the console users are missing out, nerf the PC so we all get an equally naff experience.
But that is the saving grace for PC, it should still not be relied upon by devs (not singling out AABS for this) who release shoddy DLC with incomplete timetables and then hope that modders fix things for them to bring it up to the standards expected. Look at the absolute mess that was Fife Circle, it should never have been released in that state but modders did come in and bring it up to a much more enjoyable state but the downside is that console users are missing out there. My gripe is despite DTG repeatedly saying that they are not nerfing the PC version due to console issues, they clearly are and what's worse is that the latest round doesn't appear to have fixed the issues in the first place. Oh and just FYI, usually when DTG release an update/patch they end up nerfing the mods until the modders can go back and fix them...
And how do you come to that conclusion? Birmingham-Crewe has improved a lot through yesterday's updates. I'm actually able to enjoy it now it's running much better.
Any chance the Reduced AI timetable can be labelled as Reduced on something, similar to how the SEHS Reduced one is?
That's based on what a lot of feedback on here has been, with various screenshots supplied. Being on PC myself I didn't have any major issues aside from a few spawn locations being off. I loaded it up last night and the railtours are gone
Had been enjoying this route as recently got it in the steam sale, but not enjoying it now. And it hadn't given me any FPS issues. Although, the lack of paths on this route for scenario editor is a bit pathetic. I had hoped a 3rd party developer would do better than DTG.
It doesn't. The Rail Tours are gone and I'm waiting for an answer from Kezz as to why they were removed.
Yet another instance of forced updates breaking or reducing quality of routes that people already own and were using without issues. Surely the tech is there to allow people to decide if they want to install the updates or not. With regards my own situation I bought the route a couple of weeks ago, have had no issues with it at all, and now have had it updated with fewer services and so reducing the quality of the product so as to try and rectify issues on a totally different platform I have no interest in…… I’m past the point where I can get a refund so am now stuck with something that isn’t as I bought it or was sold to me. Great PR!!!!!
It is quite ridiculous to change what people have bought and paid for, there's certainly a case that could be argued this is foul of consumer law. Particularly when these changes are made long after any refund window has passed. In any event, why not just do as has happened with other routes in the past and have the reduced timetable alongside the OG as an option. The railtours actually allow you to run the route with some decent motive power... The bottom line is, DTG and the 3P's should not be blundering through and creating behemoth DLC on a flakey engine, then taking panic measures post release to fix the problems their own code is causing! Amateur hour. I think people will be treading very carefully around Trent Valley given these developments.
My understanding, based on a quote from Kezz is that different timetables won't solve the mounting issue on consoles as it loads/mounts per route not timetable. I do feel for AABS as it's quite clear that they are taking a lot of flak and being forced into making some unwelcome choices because DTG are woefully incompetent, it seems that everything they do/say/touch turns to turds and I'm almost convinced that they are actively trolling us at this point.
Fair comment, and as you say it seems TSW is now a runaway behemoth that no one at DTG is able to get a grip on the code. Regardless of where the blame lies this situation does mean any route coming out - even Trent Valley and the JT Preston to Crewe are no longer a Day One purchase, particularly where an ambitious timetable is being attempted.
The most annoying thing is that even though you play on a PC, you still, for some reason, are affected by the "problems" of consoles that you don't even have. And these "problems" are "solved" for you by cutting down the content that you had. Why should I, a PC gamer, care about the problems and quirks of underpowered consoles?
Maybe you shouldn’t care but I don’t really care about the very few issues you hallowed PC players get to experience. You have it pretty good overall so maybe don’t complain so much. You may have lost a rail tour or two on one route but for many of us on consoles we have been without a working sim for a very long time and much of the content is borderline unplayable and certainly not a great experience. We all pay the same for the content, apart from PC players getting so many more discounts, and you have to accept the game is not PC exclusive and deal with a few tiny compromises while we deal with the biggest brunt of the issues. Think of it as being part of an unfair society. We all pay the same in and you get a better deal. Be thankful for that.
What nobody from AABS or DTG has yet explained is why the PC and Console dlc content must be the same. All we've heard to date, and credit to Kezz for fronting up, is that's the way it is. I'd really like to hear a very clear explanation why as a PC user I've now got , and have to live with, less than I originally paid for.
The problem is that everyone complains, but everyone keeps buying. Stop buying until DTG understands and fixes its hundreds of unresolved problems.
Well to be fair given how things are going downhill quite rapidly at the moment I'd expect it to only be a couple of months before someone just reverse engineers TSW, patches it properly and plops it online for folks to enjoy oh and without DLC restrictions so it makes it a lot easier for others to make content for it. They don't appear to have learnt lessons from early video games, look at what happened with Nintendo and Sega trying to control their market with too iron of a fist... (yes that's consoles vs games but the point still stands).
The updates despite the duplicated timetable have made the route much more stable and less laggy around smethwick gb etc. My main concern for LTV was the idea that like many DLCs it would get one update/bugfix then be ignored. These updates though taking a while to come out are making me feel much more happy with the developers behind this DLC. I hope the launch of LTV is a bit smoother but as long as we get updates to get it to this level of playability I'll be happy enough not to moan! Also if we can fix the 350's so they all have the same braking ability that would be great the 350/3 for example is so slow to brake, it takes forever especially in rain/snow but even in bone dry weather the braking is very weak compared to the 350/1 The only problem I noticed on a 350/1 service was after I closed the doors (at the end of the timer not before - I know how the door system works in this DLC) it made me reopen and close them again. I believe it was 1F60 - I just really really wish we had the WMR 730 to fully utilise the rollingstock on the current day timetable. It's such a lovely train IRL and I'd really enjoy seeing it in game. It would fit into many existing DLCs such as WCML:S, BCC, B2C and upcoming LTV. It really is needed before they ruin it with the terrible GBR livery please! Give me my beautiful purple and orange 730!
Uh, why should I care? It didn't concern me. I play on PC via Steam. What does PlayStation and Xbox have to do with me? Is it really impossible in 2026 to separate builds for different platforms if it works on the Xbox Series S?
It's called parity across systems. DTG do state this on their streams. We on consoles also have to now play with less than originally advertised with the removal of railtours and some services.
We've only lost the 87 railtour for PC from what I have seen for B2C?..Dont know of anything else being cut for PC users? Unless the 2019 TT that came with the route originally has been cut down (I only use the Evero TT for B2C) Thats why for the 805 TT we have two, one is with the full compliment of AI while the other is heavily reduced...while over on WCMLsth for the 805 the Reduced only has one variant of the 350 available to use and I believe a number of underground services have been removed, while the original hasn't been cut back at all
So just played a run from Birmingham to Crewe in a 350/1 as soon as i got out of Birmingham New Street tunnel completely blurry this was on the new timetable.
Unless I've misread the change list, you are correct. On PC it should only be the 87 railtours cut as driveable services, the reduction in AI services on the 805 timetable is for X-Box users only. EDIT: Clarified the AI service reduction having re-read Kezz's post.
Still getting blurries at Wolverhampton, a Class 323 of all things parked in P5 blurrier than an Xrated movie being shown on freeview TV
Biggest difference for me (on PC) is the removal of the static stock, most notably at Crewe. In the first version of the DLC the old Crewe Diesel depot was relatively well populated, now it’s empty. Same for the carriage sidings. They’ve been gradually cleared out until now there’s nothing there at all! I get why the statics were removed, but every time I pass those places I’m reminded of what’s now missing. A minor gripe, I suppose - it’s better to be able to experience those locations than not at all, but I do feel slightly cheated it has to be said. I feel like something that I’ve bought is gradually being degraded as it gets “fixed” - for me there was no problem at all in the first place, so I am starting to dread updates… especially when I have no choice about whether or not they get installed
If they keep removing stock and reducing timetables I can see TSW7 being called "Forgotten Lines of BR" where you can walk up and down old track beds looking at the weeds.
Xbox 2W00 on the “reduced timetable” has no PIS on the platform or the train - just states LNR also why was the timetable / stopping info not been updated? Smethwick Rolfe Street P2 Smethwick Galton Bridge 3 Sandwell & Dudley 2 Etc drives me insane A) how hard is it to have Platform 2, Platform 3 etc B) if it isn’t possible at least have it uniformed in the same way
Xbox Also the blur is no different on the reduced timetable so you might as well experience the full timetable with the same amount of blur
I’m really enjoying this new update the downside since the update the AI Trains on the class 350 Stopping Services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham new Street are always running late because they’re not reaching the target speeds and some of the semi fast are not reaching the target speeds either other then that the crashing and blurry textures seem to be pretty much sorted sometimes when you zoom in its blurred only for about five seconds I’m playing on PS5 on of Service head-code number is 2W04
Just tried an 805 run and the cab is full of black rectangles on the buttons. This is on a clean rebooted PC (Steam). Words fail me
Another weird one - overlooking the black rectangles I just drove 1D87 from Stafford to Crewe. Got to the carriage sidings and was briefly held at a red signal. When it went amber I couldn't apply power. Pan down/up, reverser off/forward etc didn't fix it. Never happened before - no fault messages or anything obvious, just a complete lack of power. Erm....?
Is this a 350 service? If thats the case this bug is very old and ongoing. Its one version of the 350 im not 100% sure which subversion. If im right it's the one from DTG not the rebuild version from AABS. So the west coast south mainline one.
With regard to the buttons in the cab having black marks on them, if you are on PC might I suggest trying to verify the installation (on Steam), it might just be something which didn't get installed correctly during the patch. It's a long shot but since it seems to be a random bug affecting some and not others, it might be worth a shot
