I am happy with the steam locos we currently have and I would happily pay for more.

Off topic, but of all the past and present locomotives that could be studied for source material, surely steam is the most, and affordably, accessible?

Maybe the issue wasn’t replication visually, or mechanically, but just getting the personality of a furnace on wheels correct, and all the possible characteristics of it!

Hoping an AI S stock is made for the Richmond extension, it’d feel empty without

I'm happy other people are starting to notice this, most stations on the BML back in TSW2 had this issue so I'm disappointed to see it back in TSW5. What makes this even more frustrating is that stations like Hampstead Heath and Homerton have fully modelled entrances and exits, so I'm not sure why other stations were had just the platforms modelled. Highbury and Islington is very disappointing as well, the ticket hall area is not modelled which makes the scene of no passengers even worse. West Hampstead also needs updating as it is shown on the route as how it looked about 7 years ago. I hope this is looked at asp because this route has so much potential.

I regret that they haven't made courses only to Clapham Junction, even fictionally. There's a nice holding platform there, the one where we maneuver when entering the depot. Things like that annoy me, the whole point of the simulation is the full train run. It's good that the author will extend the route, great news!

I’m not an expert so I wouldn’t notice if the steam physics were on point or missing some critical element, that would make someone who’s more educated on steam to cry wolf.

I also didn’t find anything wrong with the steam trains, I thought they operated/performed as expected. Even though steam isn’t really my thing I still enjoyed my time with it.

I‘m super happy with the extension announcement. Richmond is more appealing to me than the other branch as we haven’t really ventured into that corner of London in TSW yet. I genuinely think this will increase the sales of the route a lot, as many users had the opinion “looks great, but I want an end-to-end run” at release (including myself). I hope the numerous bugs are taken care of as well. If all of that happens, it will be very difficult to resist a purchase once the extension comes out.

And at the same time actually finish the DLCs before releasing them!

I know this may sound a bit mad, but I would love to see both existing LO routes merged like in TSC.

It would allow for some great freight runs between Wembley Freight Yard and Dagenham Docks. I think the Class 86 would be a very welcome addition, probably in FL green. Tap changers + varied signalling, what is there not to love?!

If only DTG had the ability to add this feature for people who own the existing routes. The same could be said for Glasgow to Edinburgh and Fife.

Or BML and ECW, RSN and RSO, Reisa to Dresden to Chemnitz, Worchester to Boston to Providence, Barstow to San Bernardino to Los Angeles to Lancaster, Carlisle to Preston to Blackpool and Trenton to NY Penn to Hicksville or Long Beach.

Lots of connections if they could.

I think the issue with 'connecting' routes is, for example ECW and BML, you'd need three seperate routes. The BML, ECW and the two merged as a 3rd complete route.

You would need to make a seperate 3rd route to account for players who own one but not all the 'parts' of the completed route - you'd then also need to sell that seperate routes to recoup the development costs. I don't know too many players who would pay another $45/$55 for a route/s they technically already own.

Otherwise you'd have a situation where people who own one part but not all parts would be unable to play any of the parts at all (merge existing routes into a mega route) - spending Dev time making a seperate version of the routes merged into one, that players would need to re buy (discounts not withstanding that's not ideal - or you link them by adding a route hop markers so it's a-la-carte.

Ideally you'd also want to fix longstanding core issues before undertaking such a large task as "merging routes" - let's have empty trains in depos and routes that don't crash on current gen first

Remember the years and eras need to match. A lot can change in a couple of years. Then you have to basically remake both dlcs to use the same graphics and tsw standards otherwise it just looks odd. Then signaling has to be redone, timetable remade, et

Bumping this thread with some new updates and screenshots
[IMG][IMG]Incredible Trains: "Progress has been steady, but I'm looking to also bring the route up to the current TSW6 standard, adding announcements, train faults and temporary speed restrictions, but waiting to confirm the option to use real announcements [first]". He's also noted looking at key fixes from the original release alongside this update to support performance and improve the experience, but we'll keep you informed of what changes will come once Johannes has been able to complete his work on the project.

Is it possible for him, as part of his improvements to the Class 378, to include the correct cab dials and gauge lights, as well as the correct traction sounds?

My thoughts too. Kudos to Johannes for following through and I might yet support the route when it turns up in a sale. But it is just another identical electric bus stop route with which TSW is already swamped.

Just got this route in the Winter Steam Sale...... Really impressed with it so far. My only gripe so far is all the (IMO un-needed layers for some of the crossing routes which I've disabled. My own personal view and preference is to be in the cab as you would in reality and I've never been bothered about things being perfectly modelled 100s of yards away that from the cab you never see. With all the layers enabled I was getting big fps drops around St Pancras and the ECML areas but as soon as I disabled all the layers relating to them everything for those couple of locations was fine with no drops in fps. (I've kept all other layers including those for each end of the route where i may be out of the train on the platform changing ends etc.... and where trains on those other routes could then be visible). I also had a few CTDs near these locations but again these have gone when I remove layers that aren't seen from the cab so must have been related to something spawning in etc.....

As I say it's my own preference and I know others like to leave the cab and see trains running in and out of St Pancras and other locations..... so each to their own.

Also looking forward to the extension so as to be able to do complete end to end services which I always like the ability to do. (Is there any further info on when it will be completed at all)?

And one last question...... I'm sure I saw a mod to add the branding to the Anglia stock at the Stratford end????? Although I may be totally mis-remembering that.

I'm hoping they'll do an unbranded AWR livery for the 350 for SWR services at Richmonds. And maybe the IOW trains for the District line like they are doing for GWE

Might be the most exciting thing on the roadmap for me personally.

Extension, official TfL announcements, and optimized performance sounds perfect to me!

All the 378 needs now is an authentic sound set, rather than the generic Electrostar one

I would love a backdated route when it was Sliverlink 313 and Line went to North Woolwich pre 2006 my childhood of the line

I hope Johannes puts a few more markers in this part of the route so we can use it to its full potential.
The first part was lacking a bit with the loops at Stratford and Caledonia Road as well as it being difficult to use crossovers without the signalling stopping you.

Why not try the best of both worlds in a scenario or two :)

I assume the 710/3 will layer onto this route. Bit surprised that it didn't layer on the route originally

Really looking forward to the in-cab CCTV. I think that's a game changing feature (although I know it's very expensive performance wise).

If I remember correctly, only one diagram will be a 710 with the rest being 378s.

I always wanted the 710 to just substitue into the route, but they are not compatible for substitution :/ But with the extension there will be a 710 replacing one 378 throughout the day :)

What about the wanna be 710/3 that was added to WCMLS timetable? It has 5 coaches, so in theory could work as substitution.

I had no idea 710s were being used. It seems it's usually 2 or 3 services per day.

I know there was a proposal to build 6 x 710s for the Mildmay Line to release the same number of 378s to increase the service levels on the East London Line. I assume that plan was abandoned.

Not abandoned! Highbury & Islington to Crystal Palace goes from 4tph to 6tph in December.

6tph to Clapham Junction is May 2029 at the earliest, I think.
