They defined a colour to identify playable sections and then elected not to use that colour on sections that are playable. But "you and others" finding it totally unambiguous apparently holds more weight than "me and others" finding it ambiguous

What could this be? a teaser for AABS next route?

 

Hopefully as in Shrewsbury to Pwllheli, though I'd settle for Wolverhampton to Chester!

 

Maybe ATS are doing Shrewsbury to Nantwich…

I hope so as Crewe to Shrewsbury on that bus would be a nightmare in real life!

 

There are a wide range of options from Shrewsbury, due to the fact that 2 or more stations link up with Shrewsbury from AABS releases

three options that link with other routes AABS has done.


1. Birmingham NS - Shrewsbury with the WMR Class 196 DMU
2. Crewe - Shrewsbury via Wrexham General with the TfW Class 197
3. Crewe - Shrewsbury via Nantwich with the TfW Class 197.


Third option imo, is the most likely, as it could end up being a continuation, like how Trent Valley is a continuation of WCML Birmingham - Crewe.

it could start with Crewe - Shrewsbury, then continue with Shrewsbury - Cardiff Central.

 

whilst i've long called for the rail scene to better reflect real life, having us drive the replacement buses is a step too far IMO...

 

Less than 12 hours now until console gets this. I`ve stayed up that long doing university assessments.

 

So many options for a Shrewsbury route. Be nice to have Shrewsbury in the game.

My personal preference would be a Shrewsbury - Birmingham International or Coventry route, utilising the stretch between Wolverhampton and New Street that's already in TSW.
Extending to International would also allow you to run local EMU stoppers, longer Avanti and LNWR services, as well as a nice run for the Voyagers.

 

Best bit for me about Crewe-Shrewsbury is that it opens up the possibility of TfW class 67 services…

thank you very much. dlc not appearing on the xbox store has been an issue for months, usually it resolves itself after a day or two but i’m not sure if it’s specific to tsw

 

Be interesting to see if PlayStation sales take a hit today with the game breaking bug for many PS users.

 

Off to a good start hate the fact the reduced time table cuts a good chunk of freight (the best type of service in game)

 

We’ve been thinking on the discord, and may have come to a conclusion.


The route could be Birmingham New Street - Shrewsbury via Darlaston and Smethwick.


Class 196 as a new DMU.
350 being reused again for services up to Tame Bridge Parkway and Bescot.
half of it is already in Birmingham - Crewe.
And gives AABS the opportunity to extend from Shrewsbury, to either Cardiff or Crewe, but also for the 197, as it wouldn’t need much changing from a 196, if it were added to TSW.


Seems like a possibility.

There wasn't a class 70 till they started making one. Which as far as I know looks nothing like a 80x.

 

Hi all…exactly how busy is the full timetable? Does it roughly match real world? (Don’t mind if the odd service is missing, just don’t want to be heading through the Trent Valley on deserted lines!)

 

If you want it, then get it now irrespective of the reviews. Longest route in the game, what more to do want. Drive from London to Carlisle soon too.

‘irrespective of the reviews’- that’s not the approach i’d take. reviews exist for a reason, i want to buy trent valley as well but i'm mindful of what potential issues could occur so i’m waiting to see what others find before spending £33. i’d much prefer to do that than go in blindly and not be able to get a refund if it is broken

 

DTG will fix any issues you have. Excellent long route with places to route hop too.

Ive bought routes from release and there have been nothing but issues so im being mindful £33 is alot to pay if the route isnt working properly so i will just hold off and see how it runs on console first

 

l agree there are issues with every release, always have been, nothing is perfect with DTG. Any issues l have had l report to support and it’s been quickly resolved. This route opens up so many possibilities that l am sure will be worth it. I bought this morning and am pleased l did so.

 

I was at the purchase option on the PSN app, but changed my mind. I’m worried this route is going to be a bland ECML style route with little traffic. I’ll remain optimistic though and wait for people’s feedback.

 

yeah I get where you're coming from but I think it seems a lot better and more engaging than ECML. more layers, stations and services, more variety in rolling stock and services as well as 4-tracks all the way. As well as the clever route hopping with WCMLS. With that said I am holding off on it until I can fit it in my budget.

 

So who makes the feedback if everybody is waiting for peoples feedback?

Im not falling for hypes anymore, ill skip the feedback right away until the dlc is 80% off. Have to get my money back for all the frustration, annoyance over the years because the unquestionable lack of quality control on the side of dtg.

Despite that, i hope the route lives up to its promises and potential. If AAS went the extra mile and the dlc delivers 120%, i might reconsider.

Exactly this. £33 is not cheap, a big chunk of what’s in my Steam Wallet so I will wait and see what’s said, particularly when the Steam version unlocks later. Yes I know you can get a refund (!) but that’s not without consequences either if you do it too often.

 

No Mastery for this route, or has it just not gone live yet?

 

I have hardly played ECML but this does look like it will be more immersive with more variety. Plus Crewe is a better end point than Doncaster. I will get it going on the couple of streams I've watched. I've hardly bought anything lately.

However with the JT route seemingly also imminent I'll likely get that first as I don't fancy spending over £60 in the same month.

 

In terms of scenery foliage OHLE and track design I’ll say this, Trent valley looks really really good

 

But there seem to be a lot of blurry, too. Considering the few posts in the feedback thread all talk about that. ;-)

 

Good question, one I've asked myself, and I'll have the answer tonight on PC (or one of these days if I have enough time).
I'll be sure to let you know unless someone else does it first.
This is an important (even crucial) point regarding this route.

 

At this point as a console user, I can only laugh when a route released less than 24 hours after this statement, in relation to blurry textures: “we're happy to have made progress, and many of our recent releases have proven that we can work to mitigate this issue” - is subject to that very issue.

Of course though you can’t really blame DTG or the third parties anymore, people are still happy to buy it the minute it drops.

 

Not seeing a huge amount of feedback so far. Hopefully that means that the release hasn't been a total disaster and not that everyone is just holding off waiting for reviews!

If there is to be a Shrewsbury route, I'd love it to have a class 175 as they are one of my favourite DMUs!

Though if they are to make a route in that area I would have preferred it if they made the North Wales Coast, since it'd be a good opportunity to get the Avanti Super-Voyager in.

Just feels like another ecml route a to b with a few stops in between. Trains are dead quite 807. 350 is ok tho.

 

That's my fear. What with a modded timetable coming out yesterday for ECML that makes it really busy with lots of static stock, I'm struggling to justify buying this for now.
