Hey everyone, I've been given permission by SamT a custom sound content creator for TSC to use his audio files on the recent Class 390 sound pack on the one in TSW. The sounds are all ready to go, but I don't know how to actually implement them in game yet. If anyone does know how some tips would be greatly appreciated!
I'm well aware, but there's somethings that I don't think are right that SamT did get right e.g Traction Motors
Can you even make changes to a mod as the user rather than the creator? Should probably contact ItsYa165 for instructions, he’s on the forums I think (rarely)
I put this same post in the TSC discord, but instead he said he'll try and improve his own pack rather than help so that's a no go
Could you unpack the existing sound mod in a UE4 editor and look at how it is structured, then maybe work from there using available UE4 tutorial videos like these: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCHUCw4YxYPkhy4ibNr1rTvAUsOBH4jwY
I reside within the European Union, to be precise. I wouldn't want to swim, and flying is not my thing either. Too boring.
I mean, the Class 390 sounds that are already in the game are fairly decent without any mods given that no running sounds or traction motors were recorded on the reference trip they had (only static sounds from the 390 were recorded as far as I'm aware). I think DTG actually did a sterling job on the 390 given the limited access they had. The same goes with the 220 sounds which are an amalgamation of several recordings, but are still fairly decent and pretty accurate to my ears. Just for reference I've posted a video of a 390 in VT days departing to show how fairly similar they sound in game... I do have a candidate for the worst sounding unit which is the Class 385. No more needs to be said!
