    Yes, a big surprise.

I'm surprised there's no mention of the earlier versions from its introduction to the start of BR Blue.

It does say Vol.1 - Maybe earlier liveries will be released with Vol.2

Their Facebook announcement said Vol 2 would be privatisation era, and a possible Vol 3 would cover special liveries. There was no mention of the earlier BR liveries, though some of the current heritage liveries could be in Vol. 3, I suppose.

Yay, been waiting years for this! Sadly to the point where I've all but given up on TSC and gone over to TSW as it had a good "Duff" :/

I really want this still but as my "local" route is coming out next week (in my era too) I think that might be the final nail for me and TSC so I'd just be chucking money away :(

As a side topic, I now hope they release a 165/166 pack

I don't know the route but I think it is for TSW as he says "I've all but given up on TSC and gone over to TSW"

The second paragraph seems to indicate that

Yeah sorry, that was it basically. There's a new route for TSW next week which happens to be my local line in my chosen BR era so I'll be spending months on that, buying the AP 47 now for me just isn't worth it right now as I wouldn't be using it. I made the jump from TSC to TSW a few years back because their 47 was better but came back now and then for one or two routes, usually a dabble on the great South East Lancs / North East Cheshire route.

You wouldn't regret buying the AP 47. It's a 47 fan's dream. Clag factor, brake block spark, turbo chirp, pretty much every BR livery/variation from the late 1970s to late 1990s. TSW will never compete with that as far as I can see.

thanks for confirming the new route you mentioned is TSW.

The two new DLC I’m waiting to be released for TSC would suit a class 47 (I suppose any uk route would), but any updates on AP MML Corby extension and DTGs version of ATS WCML Northampton have gone very quite since announcement months ago!

I think ATS must still be fixing the TSW class 90!

I need to check out the MML, I do have the various stages of JT's Hope Valley route and some of the MML. To be honest I enjoy thrashing my way along from Man Vic to Leeds but unlike TSW it's set in present day so that takes some charm off it, but it would be good to really give the AP 47s a good thrashing on there :)

Didn't Alan Thomson announce such a project (converted from TSW)?
(Yeah, I know many dislike ATS, partly for valid reasons, but still)

I must have driven the TSC class 47 more than any other diesel in TSC. I like the square windscreen, it's good for viewing the scenery.
I notice from the AP manual that you can isolate AWS which means you can drive outside the cab without being subject to forced emergency braking. Or I hope you can. Not sure I like the idea of not being able to select what properties the engine has as it seems it will be random. Although I will probably buy it at some point.

I remember the class 47 from when, as a kid, I used to go train spotting in the early sixties. We knew the class 47 as a 'Brush' then.

I took the new 47 for a spin today. It's very good! Although this is not my favourite era, and I am more looking forward to the post-privatisation liveries in Volume 2, I am still really enjoying this pack. Another good one from AP. The price is another story though...

Yes, it's a premium price. Whether it's worth that much is something only the buyer can decide. It is priced the same as other loco packs from AP.

Personally, I can manage with the now withdrawn sound pack until a sufficiently discounted sale comes around. Which is usually 12 months after release.

This will be a must buy for me when an AP sale comes around.
Given the small discounts on the revised HST packs so far, I’m looking forward to giving the new 47 pack a try during the Christmas hols... in 2032!

I basically pay double in a way, given that I'm using Australian dollars. So £30 is roughly $60 AUD. for me, which is kinda steep.

If you were buying GBP the exchange rate is very similar
Although you are paying AUD it is still the same as what we pay in GBP

When you see a bigger number on a price tag, double the size of the one in the original currency, it feels like you're paying a lot more haha when in reality it's still the same. :D

Regarding the pre-blue liveries, my way of thinking is that PLD's 47 model is going to cover them and so maybe AP didn't want to duplicate it. That's assuming the PLD 47 actually comes out.

That might be possible. I believe PLD and AP have collaborated on other projects. However, it would be a new way of working for them, and AP didn't mention PLD in the release announcement.

Indeed, PLD made the model for the Class 50, and I think they've done more for them beyond that. I don't know if they would collaborate for the green 47s, as much as I hope they do.
