Trying to run the Class 31 with AWS enabled. But I immediately get a blue warning light on the dash and the train acts as if I didn't acknowledge. Brakes go on and power goes to 0. I can only seem to drive it if I isolate the AWS. I'd much prefer to run with it. What am I doing wrong?

You need to acknowledge the AWS right after enabling it.

Just incase also. Stand up, sit back down and press acknowledge. (Dead mans pedal)

Have you switched the Cab Changeover lever as well as the AWS isolator (together on the back wall of the cab)?

Good advice, took me almost 30 minutes when I first encountered this AWS behaviour back then

Interesting, I didn't know there was such a lever and it doesn't seem to get a mention in the Class 31 manual at all (I just had a quick look). Does the Cab Changeover lever only apply to AWS? I've successfully switched cabs before and didn't do it but then I haven't tried using AWS on the Class 31 yet.

Yes it is just for the AWS. It wouldn't surprise me if there's no mention in the manual. I found out about the lever by watching a youtube video of someone doing a service in the 37 and they used it when switching ends.

I always check for these things now after getting stuck with some of the Armstrong Powerhouse loco's in TS over the years. Taught me a lesson to read the manual and check for levers behind me.
