55 days and finally i see the words ‘class 90’ spelled out by someone from dtg. this HAS to be a lesson to all involved, i can accept an update to an already good dlc taking maybe a month or two, as its less urgent and there’s more testing time that way. but this dlc has been BROKEN since day one, and to have received no communication until june is disgraceful. it probably sounds like ive been banging the same drum for ages now but this whole ordeal cant be swept under the carpet. an abundance of accountability for both sides to take

ATS appears to still be putting out videos on YouTube. He’s not responding to any questions about the class 90 of course. [Removed - DTG Alex]

That ‘hopefully’ comment means she doesn't have a clue in all honesty!

DTG Jan mentioned yesterday that they were preparing a message for the latest news, ‘details about upcoming updates’ and bizarrely, ‘further thoughts from both our team and the ATS group on the release and next steps for the add-on’…surely the only next step is to get the correct working build out ASAP?

Maybe they're just gonna put it out of its misery and refund everyone?

Didn't that happen in TSC once or twice over the years?

Still weird to me it hasn't been fixed- thought they just had to push a button to upload the correct build? /s

Think it’s more likely being rebuilt from the ground up, than patched! Fortunately as with a fair amount of other recent releases I held off buying, but feel for those who parted with good money for this botched rubbish.

Yeah I was sailing the seven seas last week and saw it floating out there, still wouldn't go near it with a 10 foot pole. Though actually that gave me a thought, maybe the version released was the special borked version that was to be leaked to the pirates (so it would annoy the living hell out of them with all of its flaws) but it was accidentally released to the public instead...

Skipping on from that slightly, I think it is time to start looking up the legal precedents for the sale of faulty software, I am fairly certain that EA especially, has been hauled over the coals in both Australia and the EU over the levels of bugs in some of their games.

Im toying with VCAT for sony's refusal to refund the DLC, it doesnt sit with me that sony can decline my request off hand for a broken POS piece of DLC that the developer themselves admits publicly is broken... seems a lot of effort for a single DLC though so im not sure.

Whatever is next from ATS, whenever it comes. most likely the passenger focused 90 or maybe a 91.. just remember MAC and the 90..
Alan likes to remind everyone that the MAC was the first TSW5 route to have TSW6 features introduced blah blah. dont forget that it released as a wrong build, it still has some of the worst track layouts and broken signals in any TSW route to date. and idont need to mention all the things wrong with the class 90..

Best case going forwards is that no one buys anything from ATS again, they make no money and have to leave the third party program and stop making TSW stuff.

Not sure if I’ve missed something, but what’s happened to the green Freightliner liveries? Has there been a copyright issue, as I only have the DB red/blue and BR grey FL liveries available.

I have no feelings towards ATS, I like some of their stuff, particularly their East Anglia content but there's other stuff I've not liked. So anyone puerile who will need to designate me as either a "Fanboy" or a "Hater" can pipe-down.

The comments in these treads about ATS, DTG and other developers are crossing the line into personal attacks, many based on conspiracy theories and woefully uninformed assumptions. Opinions and attacks are very different things.

If you are so angry about things that you need to insult people you simply don't know just because your customer service experience has been sub-optimal, you really need to take a good long look at yourself, chill out or find a hobby where your exposure to disappointment and expense is minimised (good luck with that one).

In every job we do we will have customers, whether you're a musician, an insurance agent, business owner or emergency worker (other careers are also available). Now imagine how stressful it would be if your customers not only complained about the product/service you provide but insulted you personally.

Treat people as you would like to be treated.

Should also be offering customers a full refund, over and above any store policies, if they prefer not to wait for the fixes on this mis-sold item.

Often by the same people who moan about a lack of DTG presence on the forums.

Even now with this new announcement there are some who will not let it go.

Haha, it's village gossip level stuff isn't it?
My mum was like this. She'd be moaning about the potholes in the main road through the village, then they'd get filled-in and it was "cars are speeding through now, someone's gonna get killed" then "these speed cameras are just another form of tax" to "now everyone knows the speed cameras have gone off-line everyone is speeding again" and finally "It's a disgrace, how dare they build a by-pass through those fields I visit once a year".

It means I was told a possible date for an update, but didn't want to make it public in case there was more work or something that needed to be done, and at the time I posted that there was. Again, if y'all have questions about anything I say, just tag me.

Honestly at this rate we would probably rather know than not knowing

like the mood is pretty sour at the moment a date could brighten it

A mod for PC players regarding visuals, but us Console users can go swivel while ATS and DTG "potentially" work on a solution that we may or may not get in the future.

Awesome, I'm never buying this DLC, and I won't be buying anything from ATS going forward.

It got changed unfortunately, so the "date" mentioned in the update today is as close as any of us have until it releases. I wish I had more concrete dates like, "OH the 16th!". We know I'd post if I did.

They certainly could have reworked the textures now progress has been made regarding the blurry ones. Half a job as ever hey.

The whole situation with the 90 is a joke. Last time I’m getting anything from ATS at full price!

It's all bright over in this corner. Had a lovely lunch with another TSW user today.

Maybe I could brighten things up with a photo of a freshly refurbished Class 309?

Fair enough. "Dealing with thunderstorms"? I'm an amateur meteorologist and so this week is like a festival of weather for me. Even saw rotation in a trailing wall cloud trying to form a vortex/tornado here in Essex, but the cloud base was too high and the storm too disorganised to provide enough energy.

More of the same for today by the looks of things. Should be a bit better tomorrow. Would love to see photos of your layout when it's done.

Here’s the current state, still need to do electricity testing hence why I’ve been down with the current weather

anyways I like 10 to 15 boxes of stuff to go through plus some N gauge stuff
I might get a chance to do it today but that’s all depending on Scottish weather

Looks good. Is that a Matchbox diesel shunter I spy in the background? I've got some somewhere.

I ditched model railways years ago but now having a spare room I'm thinking about them again. Although the price of new trains has surprised me. There are some nice O gauge ready to run locos which are cheaper then OO and N.

Yep you’re right about being a matchbox shunter, was temporary put for sorting and scale, other models are still in my room at the moment

but I do love my shunters
2 class 08s (br green and battle zone)
1 class 07 in br blue with working lights on both sides
2 class 06s (br green and Robert home)
    5 different pannier tanks
    Large pannier
The rest of my collection I will mention in a later update
One of them fits the topic of this thread

We could start a thread in off-topic. I keep meaning to go up into the loft and have a look through my old collection. None of it has been used in over 30 years but I made a point of getting all the spare parts for the (mostly) Lima motors for when I decided to build another layout or sell it. One of the best decisions I've made but for now, there's no room here and my wife won't be happy if I take-up both spare bedrooms with my hobbies.

OT I know, but don't sell it. I made the mistake a few years ago of putting all my OO stuff on Ebay as non runners for a bargain price. Now every time I get a flicker of doing a real model railway again, I look at the silly prices being asked just for basic no frills RTR small locos and shudder with fright!

The big question that needs answering is WHY? Why was it released in such poor condition? This is not the same as a route being released which works well on PC and seemingly fine on consoles but then has performance/texture issues which couldn't be picked up during testing. The Class 90 was released in a poor state, clearly as a cash grab at the end of the financial year. To then add insult to injury ATS and/or DTG then said that "the wrong build had been sent out" which suggested a very quick fix within a day or two for the correct build to be processed but instead several months later people are still waiting for it.

It was clearly a case of lying to cover up their actions, admitting one's failures & mistakes right away earns you trust, lying to cover your proverbials will land you in a world of distrust and tarnish your reputation and considering both the state of MAC at release and then that BS attempt at fixing the track layout at Slade Ln Jn quite a few folks, myself included already have a very low opinion of both ATS for churning out such rubbish but of DTG for allowing it.

Great work! And many more hours to sort, organize, and classify everything, but what a joy it will be to finish this passionate project that fills us with admiration, like big kids.

Congratulations on your project, best of luck with the rest, and we're all looking forward to seeing the finished section!

Best regards, and good luck, Tof

Personally after this debacle I will never trust a word DTG says ever again. As for ATS I certainly would not but their products until I’ve seen copious reviews from the guinea pigs on here who buy everything day 1.
