Hello Is there any way to turn off excessive fog when it is snowing? I understand that snow reduces visibility, but not to that extent. I had this issue with Northern Transpennine.
Am I crazy to think that snow does not produce this amount of fog? Thank you Anthony Pecoraro your suggestion works, but this makes it rather unnatural as well. I guess this is just how it's going to be, almost zero visibility or complete rendering up to the point of max distance.
Turn the wind to 0 in the environment settings - if there's snow + wind then it will kick the snow up and give you the blowing snow effect. Turn wind off to stop it.
What Matt says above plus... If you lower the cloud cover via the slider prior to starting this will usually increase visibility/reduce fog. You can have it snowing without cloud I think. Of course in the scenarios the weather is preset.
I would have liked to play the scenarios with snow and still see at least a bit more ahead of me. But maybe some day. Thank you all for the help! Game is awesome otherwise, have way too many hours on it
Snow and fog are rare bedfellows and are only really seen together at the surface when dew points rise above zero and snow is melting. Freezing fog contains forming ice pellets but they don't become snowflakes. I appreciate it's used as a way of reducing visibility in heavy snow but it looks very wrong.
There shouldn’t be any fog when it’s snowing or if there’s lying snow on the ground, full stop. Fog actually increases snow melt. Also why is it that even with the slightest bit of wind it turns into full blizzard mode? It should make the snow fall at a slight angle. DTG need to increase the default view distance, decrease the distance fog and introduce a depth of field effect to make things look more realistic.
