Finally finished with the Police Cruiser, which came out decent. I did end up color swapping to a different blue from the original design, and went with a darker canopy and astromech instead of the chrome dome. I do have some modifications drafted to bring it closer to the one from the N64 game, but the original MOC designer still did a great job with this. Also, more clones...
Ticked another box off my vintage collection list. Just happened to be on eBay at the right time, as I got this for a steal compared to what sealed copies usually go for. I also mostly finished the mods for the Police Cruiser MOC from Rebrickable. I forgot to order the stupid antenna for the tail fin, but otherwise it's done. Not my best work, but in my opinion it captures the one from the N64 game a bit more. I'll take some more pictures once the missing piece comes in, and I've also got another MOC from Rebrickable in the works.
Finally had a chance to go through and make my modifications to the N-X. Most of this great MOC remains, with my changes limited mainly to the engines and tail around the back of the cockpit. The engines I changed to have a small cone at the rear (hard to see on the game model, but it's there), as well as to have a blue glow at the front and yellow-ish at the rear. This was repeated at the rear, with an extended antenna to bring the tail out a bit. At the front, I nudged out the center slope by a stud to give it a slightly less blunt look. Behind the cockpit, I added various slopes to recreate the bulbous top and side turbine vents. It's not pretty or perfect, but I'm happy with it, and thank the original MOC author for inspiring me to add my own touches. And, surprising no one, more clones...
