I’ve often wondered why the game doesn’t have a level that guides you in what’s needed to get the train running rather than leave you to know it going in. I don’t play it as regularly as some do, but I do enjoy it quite a bit. I realize the point of the game is to be the train operator, but still it would be nice not to necessarily have to go to the training center each time I switch to a different train.

Each train literally comes with it's own tutorial

I know they’re supposed to, although I haven’t found some for all my routes. But I’m just saying if you don’t want to get technical in playing the game every time out, it’d be nice to have an alternative.

Journey mode for routes often starts with the tutorials you need to be able to learn how to drive the loco/unit.

Is the suggestion for a level per unit, or an overall level for the operator? Either way, I don’t see the need since the Training Center has ample tutorials both for general simulation mechanics as well as individual unit procedures. And as mentioned, the Journey mode usually starts with the unit tutorials. I will admit, for some units with more complex systems, I have rerun the training sessions after having not driven them in many months…

Most, if not all of the tutorials are basic and not technical whatsoever.

I know. I’ve used some of them. But I always got the feeling they were written basically to become more proficient at navigating the routes and locos. Which isn’t a bad thing. But an old guy like me would like to be able to relax and play with my trains once in a while.
