True, just pasted it here anyway as someone else was asking for something official. To his/her credit, the fandom wiki page is sometimes incorrect/outdated as it's updated irregularly from what I can see

I wanted to suggest adding an in-game offline radio feature to Train Sim World. A similar feature was recently added to popular truck simulators, and it did wonders for the atmosphere.

Right now, long freight runs or late-night passenger services can feel a bit too quiet. While we can always just run a music player in the background, having a native in-cab radio would add so much more flavor and immersion. Imagine playing your local music files directly through the UI, complete with audio filters that make it sound like it's actually coming from the cab's speakers and fading out when you switch to an external camera. It perfectly simulates a real engineer listening to the radio during a long shift.

It’s a relatively small quality-of-life addition, but it would go a long way in making the world feel cozy and alive.

    @heliq

If we want to be realistic, this idea is a very bad one.
Because in real life, it’s forbidden to play music in the driver’s cab.

Because in real life, music can also distract the train driver, or even prevent him from hearing the locomotive’s acoustic warning signals.

Just make it optional, anyone who doesn't want it can simply turn it off, just like the in-cab announcements. I'm not saying it should be mandatory for everyone.

I would like to receive the TSW7 as part of a remaster package:
    1. Sand Patch Grade (remastered)/ Peninsula Corridor (remastered)
    2. Ruhr Sieg Nord (remastered with extension to Siegen)
    3. Brighton Main Line (remastered with branch to Lewes and extension to London Bridge/Blackfriars).
Deluxe Edition + Arosa Line (remastered)

If included in new routes, my preferences would be:
    1. Canadian Rocky Mountain
    2. Cologne-Düsseldorf-Duisburg
    3. Chatham Main Line/North Kent Lines with Southeastern Speed compatibility and the Midway Line.

I would REALLY love to see the Amtrak Downeaster route as it will bring in the P42DC, F40 NPCU, Boston North Station, and the ability to add MBTA layers on top of that.

Distances to be reported in actual track distance instead of as the crow flies

Yes definitley. Semmeringbahn is one particular victim to this inaccuracy with all the outrageous curves.

Sandpatch and Clinchfield too suffer from this syndrome - ah, only 5 miles to go, should be done by bedtime. 20 minutes later, 3 miles still to go! I mean every other train sim manages to show the mileage to the next timing point accurately, it’s just silly after all these years DTG haven’t fixed it so TSW does.

And on the subject of timing points, while impossible to backdate on to older routes, nevertheless going forward I would like to see TSW7 as being the first version where your train runs to the full timetable (working or public) not just a handful of locations. In the case of non stop passenger it’s rather silly that you leave the origin and your next timing reference is the destination some 70 or more miles away.

for TSW7, apart from optimisation, there are 2 things I would love in game.

1 - More Main Menu Customisation
More main menu customisation would just make the overall player experience more fun and adds a lot of depth and variety, things such as changing the menu colours, background, or menu music would be very nice.

    2. FOV
A very requested feature, integrate an FOV feature into the game without the use of mods, a wider FOV makes you see more of the cab and surroundings. This has been part of godmode for a while, however, it would be a very welcome addition to the base game, for both PC and console.

It's been a while from my previous post on this topic, in fact I wrote here at the start of this discussion but, after a whole year, a good request could be to put an adjustable seat to put the view where you need most. Especially where you couldn't see wel both the speedometer and the front view

Late to the thread, but i've got some ideas:

    Passengers:
    - The ones we have are lifeless, dull and just very bland. I'd like to see an improved passenger model with hair and characteristics that looks realistic.
    Grime:
    - Older routes in particular suffer from being shiny and far too clean, particularly platforms and station buildings.
    Camera views:
    - A built in lean out window camera view; this is possible by rearranging the numpad 3 view but as soom as you approach a tunnel, bridge or other, it flies off. Either a key on a keyboard/controller, or a popup when at a door on the move.

    Signalling mode:
    - Being able to control trains in and out of sections would be really cool, routes such as West Somerset Railway would be more playable rather than just an A-B route. I play WSR a lot regardless, but signalling would be amazing.

    Interactive areas:
    - More signalbox interiors
    - Goods sheds and engine sheds, i.e. on WSR. Would need more steam routes for this.

    Free roam FIXED:
    - WSR in particularly is atrocious for this after save game, as all the old diesels end up broken and unable to be moved (reverser locked)
    - More save game files so can switch between rather than lose progress.

    Less serious features:
    - I love the elevator, escalator and toilet features. They're not 100% nessecary as opposed to realistic train simulation, but it can add a little bit of life to the environment and a bit of silly fun.

I would say a gamma slider, but I think that is a kind of solved problem within GPU drivers now. So:

A "darkness compensation" slider that stops the nights being as dark without blowing out all the other times of day.

    Just route suggestions from me...

    1. East Coastway completed to Ore, failing that, Eastbourne to Ashford International as a compromise.
    2. A London Underground route. At this point, I couldn't care less which line it is as its been so long since the last. Waterloo & City line, anyone? ;)
    3. Remaster of BML and I know the next bit I suggest won't be possible, but merge it to East Coastway and fill in the stretch between Lewes and Wivelsfield.
    4. Hastings - London Charing Cross with the options to drive the 1066 line, services from Charing Cross to Tonbridge/ Tun. Wells, or the full route for variety. Hastings Thumpers or the transition from slam door to 375??
    5. Tonbridge to Dover Priory
    6. Far North Line: Inverness - Ardgay

The menu piece is most important to me. The UI works today but there are areas to clean up, especially for console users (clarity on the weather selections as an example).

This is already a thing, I use it all the time in the 08 and 20… on a PC use the left & right cursor keys. Left usually gives you the head-out view, unless it’s a Rivet route in which case use right instead.

    how about…

if England win against Mexico on Monday, DTG have to reveal one of the core routes for TSW7? :)

chances? Pretty much 0. But oh well.

I want TWS7, any version will do.

    1. It must use Unreal Engine 5 (while retaining Unreal Engine 4, fixing bugs and releasing new DLC). Unreal Engine 5 and Unreal Engine 4 can coexist without affecting each other.

    2. I really like American Heavy Truck Transport and hope to see new Long-Haul DLC (I've been waiting because DTG hasn't released any new Long-Haul DLC in recent years).

WRT to the UK route, I’m just getting a vibe it could be North Wales Coast, or at least part of it. Sadly, like Riviera last year, that would flush down the toilet any hopes of it being set in the BR Classic era, instead we will end up with retasked Voyagers (maybe in their Class 221 guise) with the 805 layering in if owned, the TfW Class 150’s and 153’s and maybe as the new train the Class 197. When most of us would rather be thrashing the 40 (with better sound set) or a pair of Class 25’s on a 12 coach set of decent blue/grey Mark Ones.

Put it this way - NWC 2025, take the free upgrade and wait for a sale.
NWC 1981 - Bring it on, Day One, Just Take My Money etc.

Metropolitan Line for me with destinations to Watford Amersham Chesham and Uxbridge, making it a fantastic route to explore with so many different timetables and destinations from Aldgate.

My obvious preference being A60 and C69 stock era, though would take it with S stock at a pinch. The issue might be what they use to represent the Chiltern services from Harrow On The Hill to Amersham. Depending on era it would either need to be a new Class 115 DMU (the Class 101 definitely couldn't sub in on the Marylebone lines or maybe a Class 165 if they agreed to share the one coming from Incredible Trains and can get a licence for the Chiltern livery.

For a Met line route, my preference would be for the full stretch from Aldgate to Amersham and Chesham, with no compromises like cutting it short at Baker Street or doing the Watford branch instead.

Regarding the Chiltern services, I reckon it would just be a sub of the Chiltern 165 from Mildmay.

I'm a little more interested in the Jubilee line services. Would they use the 1972 stock, and would they be playable?

As for the rolling stock, I reckon it would be S stock, as it seems more appealing to a wider audience.
