What irks me is that these large updates appear to be just a distraction or slight of hand to the real issue. Not one of these updates is actually a major core update its all route updates. Where is the fix for the blurry textures? Where is the mounting update? I thought those were priority? As Matt said in the December roadmap it can't and won't takes sevral months it needs to be done ASAP. And here we are with perhaps it will be fixed for TSW7 now. But I highly doubt it. They seem to just try to find an easy way to do something and if its going to be hard and take too much time lets just push it into the background and ignore it. All they seem to do is research the cause and not actually fix anything. The community will forget if we give them all these fixes that we have been holding back on and pump out DLC to distract them. What a load.
Isn't this update meant to include stuff for FCL & E2G? I'm not getting overly optimistic, but it will be interesting to see if the updates are just the updated Class 170 sounds at a minimum, or something more... Who knows. I'm pacing my expectations anyway.
at this point i could bet my house on every update including localisation improvements. i saw MAC headlined, and got excited thinking it might finally be the 90 layer, or optimisations but no. localisation improvements
Even New York/Trenton I was expecting maybe some signalling fixes. Route hop and localization is it. But I love how they say these are core updates yet the only thing we are getting are updates to routes not the base game. The last one not 1 update for the base game which is what the core is.
Signalling issues sorted and most importantly Slade Lane junction relaid as it should be so you're not on a rollercoaster each time you pass over it.
Yes I had been hoping for that and/or passengers finally being able to board from low level platforms. Every update that this doesn't get fixed makes one wonder if there is even any plan to fix these two items.
Two things I take from this thread: No matter how much DTG caveat the tentative nature of a date, a non-zero people will assume it's set in stone and any shift is a delay. DTG community managers need to get better at posting matters of interest on this forum as well as Discord.
Here's an idea for DTG, don't name your patches after the date they are to be released if you want things to seem like tentative dates and not delays.
The phrase 'Local Optimisation' needs to be expanded on in updates as I have no idea what that means and needs to be updated to expand on what has changed... The Class 170 update listed I am none the wiser on what will be improved with it!
Is it the missing soundest, finally? That was supposed to be released with the XC/WMT pack, then the WMT 170 update, then the SN 171 pack - still waiting for my ScotRail 170 sounds Dovetail!
The patch from last week didn't have any core updates either. DTG Matt said it can't take months, it needs to be ASAP but who actually believes he means that. They've been making good strides, they've been learning, they've been investigating... Train Sim World: 7 is set to come out in September which means it's all about making the new store pages and getting all the hype ready for the Dovetail Direct. The company that sold the Class 90 for almost three months on the PS and Microsoft store doesn't care about blurries or crashing - c'mon now
Thank you for clarifying! If the sounds come in the Class 170 updates tomorrow, I'm more open to speculating that we might just be getting something a bit more substantial in a later update for both routes. Us old sweats who don't used discord are often left behind on such things!
I am quietly optimistic that the updates are in preparation for this I7C HST pack that's all but confirmed at this point (I hope it's coming and not DOA/Shuttered) The ScotRail Class 170 desperately needs those sounds fixed. I'm running out of Aeroguard and these mosquitos are determined! (Mosquito sound in cab suuuuucks)
They posted it on the forums too all the did was cut and paste what was on the patch notes in the annoucements section and posted it on discord. So the info was on the forums first. As a note, we originally communicated that improvements for the Fife Circle Line and Edinburgh Glasgow would be included in this update, however we’ve shifted these into our next patch to ensure we’ve had time to test the changes. With this change, we’ll need a little more time to prepare the following update, and we’re hoping for that patch to arrive in early July. Once we confirm the new date, we’ll let you know! https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/train-sim-world-6-update-notes-june-24th-2026.98458/
No need to apologise, I should have put it in context. I certainly wasn't disparaging those demanding updates, I was pleased to see some fairly substantial ones.
Weren't they supposed to get suspension back when the suspension became a thing? I am sure they were on the list. I want to know why the Cross City doesn't have suspension yet the training centre one does, that is quite baffling, frankly.
and the younger of us as well! for all the flaws this forum has, it’s much better than discord mainly for the fact that people aren’t nearly so demanding. on a daily basis i see people in general discussion spouting the names of different routes and giving no other context. i’ve had a pop at a couple of people for doing that on the forums, but it’s much worse on discord. as well as that, call me grumpy but the CMs seem to spend a lot of time on there bantering around with server members. maybe they could spend a bit more time on here addressing the issues that we all have?
Still no update for Fife 170 sounds... BR Class 170 Various localisation improvements At this point there's more chance of someone finding fricking Atlantis
That's disappointing not going to lie, these were promised back when the XC/WMT 170 released (a for $ DLC) and then also the SN 171 (another paid DLC) at this point Rivet games have no sounds to update TO the ScotRail 170 and just can't admit they've screwed the pooch. Why not at the very least use any of the other 17X's sounds. Isn't it normally customary to offer to buy someone dinner or a drink before you try and fk them?
I’m hoping that the notes are incomplete at this point. Very cosmetic update so far. I wonder if playstation will finally receive the correct build with Dover crosswalks fixed.
So is this Wednesday as the notes or Thursday as per Jan? It’s no surprise people get confused and agitated when 2 DTG employees contradict each other over a date is it?
Very simple answer: When I replied, echoing what was said on Discord as well, we were still under the assumption of Thursday. Not wanting to end the day without an update we shared what we knew at the time. But of course, as it sometimes goes, we got confirmation shortly after that Wednesday would stick.
Can ANYONE shed light on what these 'localization Improvements' are - the patch notes say nothing and it's so vague as to basically mean nothing
"Localization" in the games industry means translation to other languages. So, if you play in English already then these updates will bring nothing new.
Maybe the bug where the running sounds disappeared was due to them being audible about 20 miles away rather than where they should be like that bug with announcements at one station on Birmingham-Crewe and localisation means they've moved them back to where the train is? Dunno, I'm just grasping at straws.
i was always under the impression that localisation improvements were for different languages and regional versions, but no idea what actually changes
That's genuinely a point id not considered but I feel like those saying language updates are probably more on it. Good to see the game more accessible for those who done speak english as a first. But, we are still waiting for the sound fix which would be amazing to have finally
Yeah, that's what i thought it meant too, given that we've been promised the Fife 170 sounds would be fixed every time they sell us another 170 variant and these patch notes just mentioning "localisation improvements" my reply was more sarcastic than anything!
The problem is that we were promised CORE updates and then we get two large updates that have none of the promised improvements or fixes but a bunch of other random fixes, and still miss bugs like the missing 170 sounds. It's not that we aren't happy, it's that we'd like the fixes to our DLC mounting and texture blurring. Especially the mounting fixes as that genuinely stops DLC from loading in the game
Well considering they call it the Major Core updates and nothing in the core is actually being updated, and from the comments I've seen on the forums and discord most are agreeing that these updates are mostly missing the mark. But your right we should just all be happy SMH
Don't forget that they used the Class 90 slide from last weeks updates with the Arrow on it for Morristown - not even proof reading.
It was coming in the levenmouth patch for the Fife... Nice, but no update. It was supposed to be with the $26 XC/WMT Class 170 DLC.... Nice, but no update. Then it was with the updates to the WMT Class 170 when it was patched for B2C.... Nice, but no update. Then it was supposed to be alongside the $26 Southern 171/377 DLC... Nice, but no update. Four promises made, four promises broken.
Cajon Pass Barstow - San Bernardino Changed the Horsepower for BNSF ES44C4 to 4400 I'm quite curious about this fix, hitherto was it overpowered or underpowered? DW
"DTG don't fix anything" "DTG are fixing things to distract us" "DTG aren't fixing the things I want fixed" "DTG are abandoning the forums" "DTG staff don't interact with the community" These forums are turning into a bad Ealing comedy!
