Welcome to the Dovetail Games Forums!

This is the go-to place for you if you’re looking to connect with other forum members, if you need help/support for any of our games, or if you’re looking for the latest in Dovetail news!

We want the forums to be a welcoming, constructive, and enjoyable space for everyone. Healthy discussion, feedback, and disagreement are encouraged. Hostility, disruption, and behaviour that creates an unpleasant environment for others are not.

To achieve this, we have updated our Code of Conduct in accordance with the recent forum update.

Please help us keep the forums welcoming, constructive, and enjoyable for everyone.

If you have suggestions regarding these guidelines, please contact a member of the Community Management team.

Our current Community Managers: Alex, Candace, Harry, Jamie, Jan

The Community Team actively monitors forums to ensure a positive environment, but we may not be able to oversee every discussion, particularly during non-office hours and weekends. If you come across any behaviour that goes against our guidelines, we encourage you to utilise the report function to bring it to our attention.

    Rules
These forums are moderated, but it is the responsibility of every user to keep content safe and ensure a respectful environment.

Content that breaks the rules may be removed, and accounts can face warnings, restrictions, suspensions, or bans. Repeated disruptive behaviour may lead to action, even if single posts don't violate specific rules.

    1. Be Kind
Respectful discussion is expected at all times.

The following behaviours are not permitted:
    • Personal attacks, insults, name-calling, or belittling other members.
    • Deliberately provoking, baiting, or antagonising other users.
    • Harassment, intimidation, or targeted negative behaviour.
    • Repeatedly pursuing arguments across multiple threads.
    • Mocking, ridiculing, or dismissing others for their opinions.
    • Excessively aggressive, confrontational, or inflammatory language.
    • Posting primarily to create conflict, outrage, or disruption.
Remember: Debate the topic, not the person.

    2. No Hate Speech or Discrimination
We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards hate speech, slurs, discrimination, or harassment based on personal characteristics.

This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Race or ethnicity
    • Nationality
    • Religion
    • Sexual orientation
    • Gender identity
    • Disability
    • Physical appearance
Content of this nature may lead to immediate moderation actions, which also include any attempts to bypass the word filter.

    3. No Threats, Abuse, or Inappropriate Remarks
Do not post content that is:

    • Violent, threatening, or abusive.
    • Sexual, obscene, or deliberately offensive.
    • Intended to encourage physical harm, death, illness, or self-harm.
This includes remarks directed at other forum users, Dovetail Games staff, or our partners.

    4. Keep Discussions Constructive
We always welcome feedback and criticism, but we ask that you keep it constructive and respectful. Any hostile or inflammatory posts will be removed. If you disagree with another member, please engage respectfully and know when to step back. If needed, use the ignore function to help maintain a positive atmosphere.

    5. No Doxxing or Sharing Personal Information
    Doxxing is strictly prohibited.

Do not post or share personal information about other users, Dovetail Games staff, or any third party without their consent.

This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Real names
    • Addresses
    • Phone numbers
    • Email addresses
    • Private social media accounts
    • Any other identifying personal information

    6. Respect Privacy
Respect the privacy and boundaries of other forum members.

Do not contact, pursue, or repeatedly message other users in an unwanted manner.

You may contact Dovetail staff directly where appropriate, but forum-related questions are often best raised publicly by tagging a staff member in the relevant discussion.

    7. No Spam or Harmful Content
    Do not:
    • Repeatedly post the same content.
    • Flood threads with repetitive messages.
    • Create deliberately off-topic threads in official game sections.
    • Post malicious, misleading, or harmful links.
    • Use automated or bot-generated spam.

    8. No Advertising or Unauthorised Promotion
The forums are not a marketplace or advertising platform.

    We prohibit:
    • Selling or buying goods and services.
    • Promoting personal businesses.
    • Posting referral links or commercial advertisements.
Content creators, modders, and streamers are welcome to share their channels and creations through their forum signature.

    9. No Impersonation
Do not impersonate another forum member, moderator, Dovetail Games employee, or partner.

    This includes:
    • Creating accounts intended to resemble another individual.
    • Using another person's identity, name, or likeness to mislead others.
    • Altering or misrepresenting moderator communications.

    10. Respect Community Manager Decisions
Community Managers are here to help keep the forums welcoming and productive.

If they ask you to stop a particular behaviour, return to the topic, or move a discussion elsewhere, you are expected to comply.

Public arguments about moderation decisions may be removed. However, sometimes we might misinterpret a situation. If you wish to discuss or appeal a moderation action, please contact the Community team privately.

    11. Do Not Abuse the Report System
The report tool exists to help moderators identify genuine rule violations.

    Do not:
    • Submit malicious or retaliatory reports.
    • Use reports to target users you disagree with.
    • Repeatedly report content that clearly does not violate forum rules.

    General Forum Etiquette
The following are general guidelines for good behaviour. While it is not against the rules to disregard etiquette, doing so is typically seen as bad form and frowned upon. However, in extreme cases, disregarding forum etiquette might still result in actions being taken against your account.

Please keep the following in mind when participating in conversations:
    • Avoid using "CAPS LOCK" when you write. Using all caps can feel like you’re shouting and is considered rude.
    • Keep your posts as concise as you can. Overly long-winded posts tend to get ignored.
    • If you have a question, try using the search bar first to see if it’s already been answered. This helps keep our forum tidy and makes it easier for everyone to find information.
    • If you’re quoting someone, it’s better to just include the part that’s relevant to your reply.
    • Keep your posts in English. We have a wonderful community from all around the world, and having a common language helps everyone connect better. If you’re unsure about your English, don’t hesitate to use an online translator.

We thank you for honouring the above rules. You are helping to make this space inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
