Had this weird passenger behaviour at Crewe earlier, I had spawned in on foot but on a timetable day, it was the same at the bottom of the stairs to P6 as well. As there is no "jump" option I had to go to P12 and run across the tracks. I have not noticed this issue before on timetable services so perhaps it was the being "on foot" that caused it?
Thank you. I’ve stopped playing the route since discovering there are no arrival times, but I’ll have a look at these.
Just sharing my XSX experience. Installed the route. Tried to run a class 47 service starting at Crewe. CTD. Spawned on foot at Crewe. CTD. Created a scenario starting at Crewe with a Class 90. No CTD and was able to complete a run to Preston. I found that the dlc had saved on external storage so I moved that to the console. I have now run two services successfully, a rail tour starting at Crewe and an oil tanker run from Gresty Bridge. Still need to run a service into Crewe from the north. Spawning on foot at 1000 still gives a CTD. Still getting blurry textures on the lowest resolution settings. Apart from that I have been enjoying the freight runs, exploring branches and sidings that are unfamiliar to me.
PS5 Pro Journey: 1S61 Cardif - Glasgow, Class 86/4 Substitution OFF Instaled only map Crewe - Preston Activ Layer : only 7/60 - HEA, CrossCountry, BlackpoolCrosCountry, PrestonShunting, MGR, Sleeper, LightLoco Section Winwick Junction Trainspotting - Vigan Spring Branch TMD - blurred textures I don't know if it's related or if it was a coincidence, but at Winwick Junction I met a double Class 20 + coal and then after a while a Class47/3 + probably a mail train, although I suspect it's basically a baggage train, not a mail car. The rest of the route before and after the aforementioned section was fine. But considering the base map and only a few active traffic layers and vehicle substitution turned off, so we're practically talking about a blank map, it's pretty sad.
Ah I see, thanks for the explanation, so priority needs to be given to rolling stock? Is that possible? Is it possible to increase texture memory?
Something amiss with the lighting in the 'Tunnel' taking the Down Liverpool Independent under the Chester lines. The cab is lit up much more than it was out in the open see second screen shot.. First shot shows a much more plausible light level in the cutting beyond.
Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up of how things are going with getting optimisations done. I spoke with a few other third parties who have been incredibly helpful (big thanks to Kezz, Cancelbot, Jetwash and Johannes) along with DTG and now our team has a plan of action for optimisations to both memory and performance and are working through that at the moment. We're making good progress and we have found a few places where memory usage is excessive along with us also switching a lot of static meshes in busy areas to HISMs which should reduce draw calls, therefore improving performance. We also have identified the source for the crash players are experiencing at Warrington and have a temporary solution to resolve by removing the destination boards in the hope of getting some new ones made down the line. We're as disappointed as you are for the players that cannot experience the route as we intended due to a multitude of factors. Will aim to keep everyone updated along the way but rest assured that we're putting effort into making this right.
First of all I wanted to say that i feel for you guys having problems on the consoles. Im sure just trains will fix it. My only question is are the destination boards and things that are causing problems on the consoles going to be cut from the pc version also because I am on pc and have had no problems with crashing or blurry textures. I apologize for bringing up all this but things like this has also affected pc players when there was no problems on pc. Thank you and all have a great day! I also wanted to say that ihave all 60 layers turned on.
The main cause of the PC crashing is the destination boards annoyingly. The optimisations we're doing will affect everyone, not just consoles so hopefully you should see an unlift in performance once it releases.
Lovely atmosphere on the route and it's nice to drive more on the WCML. My one complaint, which I'm seeing has been reported already, is the performance. On base PS5, the route stutters frequently for multiple seconds at times. As much as I love the route already, this is a significant issue that needs adressing.
Just to add quickly on behalf of those of us wondering… while performance and stability are the main issues, can we be assured the bridge reverb and timetable fixes to show arrival times are also in hand? Thanks.
I’ve not got Crewe to Preston but have had a run on Preston to Carlisle today and found bridge reverb very hit and miss now after last week’s updates. I’d say it worked roughly 15-20% of the time compared to all the time before the updates so it’s defo not an issue with this new route.
The same problem exists in the tunnels on the Deepdale branch although a few short sections of the longer tunnel are properly dark.
Derailment at Arpley Yard, especially shunt neck 4. I first noticed it on 6P81 (Deepdale to Arpley Extention Sidings Part 1). Then I tried it in free roam at the exact same place. I’ve tried it with multiple locos and they all jump off the track when you enter Arpley Shunt Neck 4 moving southbound, just after the points entering the yard. It also happens in 7F16 (Castleton to Warrington Arpley Extension Sidings) but a bit further into the siding. I’m on xbox series S but I don’t think this is relevant. Considering it happened with multiple locos on different services, it’s probably a track issue and not a service issue. The weather was not dynamic and had no changes. I set disable junction detail to on to see if the points weren’t changed properly but it still happened.
There is alot amiss with the lighting in TSW, driving the 66 the cab is always way too light! Most cabs seem too light. Another problem is driving at night, the route is pitch black from the cab, I know most train lights are poor but they will throw some light forward but non of it is visible from the cab.
Tried writing some scenarios as so many paths to choose from, however if I start at Preston, there's no loading, you leave immediately. Other stations are fine to start from, just not Preston. Why is this?
I for one appreciate the feedback from I for one appreciate all the feedback. It's a very deep route with a lot happening, and I know it's a lot of work but seeing the immediate feedback is very nice.
I've just noticed that 6T76 FFPS-Bickershaw is missing the second part, you can go from Fiddlers to Warrington Sidings in Pt 1 but then if you stay with the train after the "journey complete screen" it continues to say "wait for a moment" but if you look at the timetable it says it's empty. Having gone back to the main timetable screen it is indeed missing, Pt3 is there from Springs Branch to Bickershaw.
PC Steam user....... Just had a first run and went with 1P18 Euston to Blackpool and the station announcements at Warrington and Wigan all said the train was going to Preston only rather than Blackpool. Not sure if this is something that has already been raised or not?
The mk2e coaches have grey corridor doors instead of red when viewed externally. They are red as they should be when viewed from the inside of the coaches.
More likely the brakes on what the loco is hauling are too weak. I noticed the it took an age to drop the speed of a train of empty HAAs from 40 to 20 on level track with near enough a full service application.
I have to keep setting it to ultra to get rid of the low res textures every time I jump into the route.
