I agree. Sensible decision by DTG. Not sure it was necessary to create another thread which is the reason DTG wanted to end it!!

Just wanted to show appreciation to dovetail for listening to its users :) it shows they do listen to us users even if sometimes we think they don't

A huge shout out to candacedtg , as I feel like she was a major part of advocating for us as the community, taking notes and providing insight to the ones in charge, all while taking the brunt of the resentment from the initial announcement.

I mean they kinda have too or well people would have lost it more than they already did

Honestly it was the most questionable decision since making the gbr class 802 cost money

Good sensible decision, now it's up to us to keep it. I will certainly be taking a look at what I post and occasionally just take a step back rather than typing out something that could be a bit disagreeable or hurtful.

As someone commented in the main thread, or to that effect - don't write something you wouldn't want to say to the person if they were sat opposite you in the pub (or on the train!).

Also thanks to Alex for the video giving some detailed insight into the background workings and reasoning for the charges. I take back my comments about why if there are so many CMs surely they have time to moderate a forum...!

Great decision, but we should also try to do our part and not engage in toxic discussion and personal attacks. Don't get baited into arguing with trolls ;-)

Deep down I knew this wouldn’t go away. Too many people were very against it. Myself included. Well done to everyone who came together to try and stop this from happening and thank you to DTG who have decided to keep the forum rather than take it away from us. I do agree there needs to be less trolling and being horrible on the forums. Hopefully that will change.

I wasn't planning on buying any new DLC in this Summer Sale, but I wanted to reward DTG for its good behaviour and listening to the community, so I bought some DLC.

This is welcome news and I too will avoid getting into arguments and just get involved in threads which interest me.

    This was welcome news.

I honestly don't think it should have been considered in the first place but the right decision was made in the end.

I will also change my behaviour and just not be a prat.

Don't think you were. Nor were 99% of people on the forum.

All these pledges to be kinder and gentler are all well and good. But valid criticism of the developers and their products is still necessary.

If I find that you've all become a bunch of pussycats, I'll have to come back and sort it, as the Brits would say. :D:D:D

Well, to redress the balance, I'm gonna go rogue.
DTG, you're a load of silly sausages.

You are quite right - polite but pragmatic, while perhaps avoiding some of the more overt references like “fanbois” or “acolyte” (both carefully placed in parentheses:)) for those who always tend to gush positive. And as I stated earlier, I’m still curtailing my spending somewhat to just the stuff that is really interesting and, as I pass through my A to Z playthrough in the coming weeks will probably once more knock out the routes I don’t really see myself returning to.

Also, maybe it's just me but with the recent updates that have fixed a few long-standing issues on loads of routes (and another update still to come) it does seem like things are starting to improve and bugs are finally being fixed?

I know i moan quite a bit and sometimes probably vent too much when frustration gets the better of me but TSW is still the one thing I fire up and the end of the day and play for an hour or so just to let off steam (no pun intended, I hate the steam era!!)

And for those of you who say you are going to stop arguing, no you won't!

I feel like I've definitely been one of those argumentative people. I'm just seriously hot-headed I try not to be but it's a serious character flaw of mine... For anyone I have argued with, please consider this my apology.

I will try to watch myself in future.

Oh I was a....insert whatever swear word you like....on GWE remaster thread because I let my frustrations get the better of me before it released, I did apologise though after.

I'm still going to be critical when needed but I'll be more diplomatic.

I think many of us 'moan' and 'vent' only because we care so much about our hobby. We passionately want TSW to be a better product.
