Xbox Series X Loading Issues

You can make a second profile and see if it's loading, however when you load the game, you even have not selected a profile. So the amount of DLC sounds possible as cause.

 

I have this issue now, out of the blue too as I’ve not added any new add-ons, recently. I’ve tried everything to get it working with all of my add-ons but it will not load.
I even tried half of the add-ons on the internal drive and the other half on the Seagate expansion drive but nothing. Delete and reinstalled numerous times. Even deleted everything else off the Series X.
Been like this for about 2 weeks now.

I have got it working but I have realised I cannot have more than 440 GB of TSW6 & add-ons installed, for me that is the base game and 112 Add-ons. All of my uninstalled add-ons are minimum of 6 GB each and I’m currently at 435.6 GB so I can’t use any of them unless I delete one or two I have installed already.

 

When it doesn't load for me I find closing out the game from quick resume as well when it gets stuck.

Then I load up another game from start to menu. The Bus, Flight Sim, Uboat are specfically the ones but I don't think it matters.

Then I exit that game and reload TSW it works.

I have no clue on why its happenening or why this is working

 

I’ve found slightly better stability by turning off Quick Resume for TSW6. Means it will take longer for the game to load but it does clear out the cache whenever you load it.

 

I never use quick resume. I think something is broken on a few accounts or has a conflict. Creating a new profile is no option for me.
I have some liveries I created and this took me hours. And I am over Level 1000.
Support is not helpful at all, cause they can't reproduce the problem. This game and future TSWs are clearly too difficult to handle on this generation of consoles!

 

It looks like more and more people on Xbox suffer from this problem and of course no response from DTG!
(Or did I overlook it, cause I don't look in here very often at the moment?)

DTG: You really should start moving and do everything to fix those damned problems on Xbox. This is not a "blurry texture" or "the new route is made without love" problem!

This is the f++ing Exodus for Xbox, cause the game is not playable anymore!

sorry for kind of reposting this problem!
For all who don't know, what's going on:
Since the Update from the end of Mai 26, TSW 6 loading screen stucks at about 30%.
I know this problem is not known by most of the Xbox players. But for those, who are "lucky", this game bug is devastating!

But it looks like, this problem is not solvable by us or DTG?!

So my question to the official source is:
Is this problem going to be solved somehow or not? And how can we Xbox Players support You to help?
I tried everything support told me and I had an idea off:

- reinstalling TSW
- resetting my Xbox completely
- deleting local save data on Xbox
- trying to load the game with less Addons
- bought a game pass to try the game with my phone (works a small bit better but it also stucks randomly)

Why the radio silence?

This has been an XBOX issue for numerous iterations of TSW now, that is seemingly seeping over into PS5 territory.

Do you really care so little about the console userbase that you built the game for in the first place?

 

The Quick Resume has not worked for me in a long time, so I don’t use it on TSW.

For this issue, it’s getting worse for me. Even under the 400GB I mentioned previously, it still has issues loading. Have to try many times in the hope of it loading.
Was hoping to get the WCML Crewe-Preston add-on but not much point if I can’t load it.

 

This is crashing so much today on the menu screens and loading screens.

 

Does the impact on Xbox systems vary depending on the day?

 

No, not at all depending on the day. Played a lot the last couple of days, no crashes at all. The issue is the amount of installed DLC's, once you reached a certain amount, it keeps crashing on loading. This is an issue on Xbox, but lately there seems to be more reports from Playstation too.

 

So I’ve ‘sort of’ found a fix for this with all my add-ons installed.
I’ve had to put drop the Xbox output from 4K to 1080p. On Saturday I done this, loaded the game and it worked on the 2nd time of trying, with everything installed.
I closed the game and tired agin and it kept working all day. Every time it loaded first time of trying, once loaded I go back to settings and change it to 4K.
This is where the ‘sort of’ comes in, today Sunday it’s only worked around 2 out of 5 times of trying.
Still though this is much further than I’ve got in the last month of trying.

 

They don't say anything cause they don't have an idea. It's easier to ignore the people who have problems and selling more stuff!
It's how business works these days everywhere.

 

So I decided to put this to the test, and reinstalled every single piece of DLC that I own overnight, that's 151 in all, not including the recent German loco DLC, the latest US release, and the two expert locos.

That's 594.6 GB total.

First attempt from a fresh console boot up, and it failed.

the problem seems to be gone for now. The game loads normally after 6 or 7 weeks.
Can someone confirm?

 

I'm still getting crashes with a mere 73 add-ons installed.

 

There is a major xbox downage so you may a trouble get into the game . I gave up after trying for 30 mins.

 

The game has been working just fine for the last two weeks with every UK DLCs installed. Since yesterday, nothing’s been working again. I’m really really fed up with this situation. DTG please get that fixed asap. The patch from 29th July did not help at all.

 

Is this issue maybe caused by being logged on to your DTG account? I can remember from an earlier Xbox Live outage, a lot of people had issues with starting the game. I do not have linked my DTG account to the game and while that outage was going on, I had no issues starting the game. So could this be a connection and are the start-up problems linked to logging in to the DTG account?

 

really funny and strange. Unplugged the LAN cable from my Xbox and the game starts on first attempt. After that I plugged it back in, started the game again and it crashes constantly. So unplugged again and it’s starting on first try without any problem. That’s a big hint (for me) that there’s a problem with the DTG account integration. DTG Matt maybe a try to look into this to solve this issue? And thank u lexie for the tip.

 

It still can be caused by an Xbox Live issue, as far as I know the connection to DTG is going through Xbox Live. Other options are something on DTG's end or in the game itself, but I think that's something for DTG to figure out. But it's strange that the game won't load when it has a problem with the DTG account and not just load and giving a message about not being able to login to account xyz.

 

From what I get, players are having trouble loading the game, even when Xbox live is up. I do not have linked my DTG account in the game and never had issues with loading the game. So my suggestion was, can the loading issue being caused by connecting to the DTG live account. There is no outage today and unplugging the LAN cable by projectkey#9208 directly solves the loading issue.

Not having an DTG account connected also keep the game starting in case of an Xbox Live outage, as I have seen in the past. Others where not able to start the game, while I had no issues.

 

Hi Matt, atm the Xbox services are up according to there own service status site. My game got a CTD just now on WCML:TV and loaded immediately on first try with unplugged LAN cable.
Maybe I’ll test later the same (plugged in/plugged out) with all of my 142 DLCs. Maybe that’s a temporary solution for us Xbox people.

 

I dont want to hear this but ive never had a crash on loading always loads fine. And im logged in to everything and connected to Internet.

 

And another test signing out of you DTG account (I'm not sure if this is possible, once you have logged in in the past). Then you can keep your network connected and see if it loads with all DLC installed.

Would it be useful for you to have the number of installed DLCs too? That would be in both cases atm 47.

 

In my case it is just not working at all while plugged in. Running my Xbox offline since afternoon and no problems any more.

 

Look at your own posts in this same topic, you reported multiple times having issues with loading the game.

 

Yes maybe but that was due to xbox network being down.

 

That exactly confirms the idea of a crashing game at starting-up, because it has trouble to logon to your DTG account. So maybe, the more DLC you have installed, the more chance there is the logon is failing for some reason. Maybe something with processes waiting on eachother.

 

Yea you maybe right but when xbox is down I cant log into some other tho as well.

 

There are "online only" games, but Microsoft admited after the last outage, there was something wrong and games who should work offline, didn't.

TSW also can work offline, but does has troubles when Xbox Live has an outage.

 

Yea i know I think xbox is really unstable platform at the moment.

 

It can be the same cause, as it looks like disconnecting from internet or not logging in to the DTG account, solves the crashing issue on boot also when Xbox Live is up.

So when you make a change to make TSW less depending on Xbox Live or a DTG account connection, maybe you solve both issues at once.

 

I totally get that, as assumtion it the mother of all........ That's why I was using "can be" and "maybe" But thanks for looking into this.
