Scenarios By Request - Northern Trans-pennine Extra Paths Mod

As the headline says, I was asked by a prominent TSW creator to create a mod to improve NTP. I had a look at this route in-between doing my work on Mildmay and TBH it is a bit of a pig as you can't use any of the portals. This limits the tricks you can do on the route dramatically. Nevertheless I have had a play at this and am in the process of creating a few blue/grey scenarios.

See a few Blue/Grey screenshots below of my first attempts at running a CL31 and a few Mk1s from Leeds to Huddersfield.



I'd forgotten how awkward it was sorting out all the different Mk1s

Hey, I'm neither taking credit or blame for anything!
I love the look of Leeds, busy with nothing in particular, grubby and grimy but pure BR Blue!
That is a shame about the portals, they would have helped a great deal.

Put some stock into Whitehall sidings in Leeds but you can't do much else with these



Carried on to Huddersfield but, annoyingly, the tunnels here that could've been used as portals don't work correctly. Start a train in these and the game places them back-to-front. A right pain



Will re-route the scenario proper into one of the bays and try to make Huddersfield much busier.

 

Had to make some extra paths at Huddersfield to make this end of the scenario work correctly.
I tested these out by having a short run up to Marsden Platform 3 in an odd looking 3-car CL101 DMU.

The run in from Deighton is a bit busier now that Hillhead sidings have some stock in them



Mod is coming along nicely now although I've still not left Yorkshire yet

 

Once you've made your first 'fake' Class 141 it's then very easy to make 2 more.
After that it's incredibly easy to couple all 3 together and go hurtling along NTP at 80mph in a rather colourful formation
