Could we at some point in the future get a Rock Island railroad route? I'm getting tired of every US route being Union Pacific and BNSF. Have it be set in the late 60's early 70's so you could drive some of the Rockets from stop to stop going from Chicago to the rest of the Midwest.
Honestly, any fallen flag route set in the US would be welcomed. Only issue I see hindering any progress would be licensing, while anything related to UP would be fairly easy to obtain, others could be harder to pursue (Lost the B&LE route due to the CN license not extending to the B&LE...)
Rock Island was never bought out by other railroads. It just quit on its own. Licensing would not be an issue.
I was stating Fallen Flags in general, as we do have that Rock Island GP9 in the GP9 pack, so Dovetail can get the branding for it, its just a case will anyone actually work on a route for it (Be it 3rd party or Dovetail themselves)
This is not entirely true. Most of the rail lines went to Union Pacific. Apparently the company still exists as the Chicago Rock Island & Pacific Railroad LLC. https://rockislandrail.com/trademarks-&-licensing
Most of the lines eventually ended up on the UP. Rolling stock, cabooses and locomotives were divided amongst other railroads.
