Just curious if any other Epic Games users are seeing this. For the last three weeks or so when I load up the Epic Games Launcher, TSW6 shows as needing an update. When there is really an update it starts downloading automatically but this doesn't. You can click on the icon and where it says update but nothing happens. To fix it you have to click on the Refresh Library button at the top and when its finished you can then click the icon a couple times and the update prompts disappear and the game can be launched, though it does not download any update. Looks like this : So I'm wondering if any other Epic Users are seeing this? Trying to figure out if its an Epic Games problem or just my own launcher thats not right. I followed some instructions to clear the launcher's cache but its still doing it. Also verified the game's files, no luck. DW
My wild guess is that the store is mixing up two separate products: the TSW game and the TSW Editor. As long as you have the game installed, it keeps insisting there’s an update available, but that update is actually for the editor, which you don’t have installed. The store seems to treat both items as a single product under the “TSW” umbrella, so it thinks the missing update for the editor applies to the game as well.
Well I gave installing the TSW editor a shot to see if that would stop the update prompts but it still does it. There is no update icon for the editor but it continues to come back for the game each time you fire up the launcher. Another thing I've noticed is the number of add-ons it says I own keeps bouncing between 55 and 56. I own 56 and after doing some trial and error and seeing what add-ons are in my list I've noticed that when it shows 55 either Spirit of Steam or Kassel-Wurzburg are missing. The content is still in game though, dunno if thats related to the update prompt. Weird. DW
