Okay, first off I'm an actual train driver, and I've never seen a train act this way. I'm not a German train driver but a Dutch one, but still. So I'm at the training centre, in free roam, and spawn a BR 146 loco with 3 dostos. All I'm really trying is to understand how to prepare the train for departure, but also how to change cabs and stuff like that. I'm running into the same problem over and over again. First off: how do I properly switch cabs? I'm used to be able to actually isolathe the brakes in one cab, deactivate the cab, and activate the other cab. I'm used to leaving a train with the brakes applied. But it seems that I'm doing something wrong in the game. As soon as I take out the reverser handle, the brake pipe fills up and the brake cylinder empties. Conclusion: I'm leaving the train without brakes applied. Or do I? No idea. That was question 1: how do I leave the train in an appropriate state? I'm looking for instructions on the loco side, as well as on the dosto side. I've driven real loco's before, and the procedure was always to set the brakes, deactivate the cab (this isolates the brake handle), and then put the brake handle in the running position. The brakes then would stay on, because of the handle being isolated. The other problem I'm running into, is that after a couple of times changing cabs, I cannot get the brake cylinder to empty again. And there's the weird part: The brake pipe is 5 bars (filled), but the brake cylinder is also anywhere around 3 to 5 bars. This should be physically impossible. And no matter what I do, the brakes won't release. Alas, there is nothing else to do, since the brake pipe is already filled so the brake cylinders should be released! I must be missing something here, can anyone help me?
Which 146. There are several different versions Leave with the brakes in the running position, throttle off, brake key out, reverser off and key out. If you have afb or safety systems on, turn those off.
