That's when it started getting mentioned yes. However, now it has people complaining about many routes prior to that.
So.... it makes me wonder if it just was accepted then and mentioned more now, or something else has changed otherwise?

It seems weird if nothing were changed on those older routes like ECML that they would suddenly have an issue they didn't have before. That doesn't sound logical unless something were changed. (Was anything like announcements or a layer added to ECML? I do know that a couple of the older routes were "updated" (GWE and Koln-Aachen) but as far as I know ECML hasn't been?

DTG Matt What I said before was correct. It looks blurry at a distance, but once I get close and it gets to full resolution it stays that way even if I go quite some distance away again.

Made a small video showing what happens, and made some comments about how the number and the BR logo look blurrier compared to other parts of the livery.

Note: Youtube will take some extra time to process the HD version. HD version should be done now.

OK so yeah that's not the same as the blurriness that console players get - this isn't texture pool starvation.

What I suspect is that the number and the arrows may have an incorrect "texture group" set up, so they're not loading in high detail soon enough, and it loads them as needed as you get closer - once loaded, it stays fine because it doesnt need to unload it.

The numbers being a bit soft edged still when close - that's somewhat because it's quite a large area and you can't do a super detail texture for that without using tons of memory up. Those tiny little plaques are easy to do a high detail texture for.

Thanks for this, will use it to continue review and feed into the process as clearly something isn't set up right there.

    Matt.

Is it possible to change how textures load using Engine.ini tweaks? I used to do a lot with it but for the past few games I haven't been bothered with it.

That's basically the purpose of the texture groups, it tells the engine how to prioritise loading, maintaining in the texture pool and so forth.
