My main concern about this is that while their TSC routes themselves were nice, the trains seemed rather basic particularly sound implementation.

Really looking forward to this releasing the wait is annoying but rather they took the time to do it right than release with issues.

Yeah I think the wait will be worth it. This one looks absolutely stunning. Definitely one of the best looking routes in TSW. I suppose it’s also down to gameplay too though which we have only seen a little bit of..

is this the route where there is a massive waterfall the train drives past ??. I’m sure it’s on this route but I could be wrong…

Well, there's no dedicated discussion thread so I'm gonna post here.
    UW posted this on bilibili:
Translation: Tadami Line is currently undergoing final polishing and optimization before release, and we believe it will be available to everyone soon.

That’s good. The end is in sight. I still reckon it’s a TSW7 release though ;).

There was an article in a Japanese newspaper in November with the CEO of DTG where she said spring 2026.

Funny Alex said he was going to Japan in the spring as well.d

Wasn’t expecting this to release before the DD. This is going to be very exciting. This route might be the most beautiful looking one yet. I’m going to have to watch another playthrough of the TSC version on YouTube again.

I am still a bit sceptical about this one. Nice looking route but as we have seen with recent releases, all that vegetation is liable to be a performance nightmare. And I still worry that the Kiha Railcar will suffer the same poor physics and sound as the TSC version.

As I absolutely love Japan, this will be day one unless previews are poor. I do just hope it is ready to release and isn't being forced out before DD just so DTG can say "look, we told you it would come out before TSW7".

The route It looks extremely good and pretty, we'll see how are the performance this will be a important thing , given how many people fear this on the route due to the amount of vegetation.

But DTG remains at least somewhat professional; I don't think they're going to show us a stream where they have FPS drops and lag all the time.
However, on consoles it will be a different story I think.

Not just consoles. My PC seems to struggle with newer, more detailled, routes too.

Good to see it finally getting a release date but my two main concerns remain - performance with all that dense foliage and the quality of the trains including sound and physics. As stated previously, the TSC versions were rather poor in that respect. Low res cabs, engine sounds which appeared to have been sampled from a tractor plus scenarios that couldn't complete because of misplaced stop zones/markers.

So another DLC (like most now) which won't be Day One and, as per concerns with TVB, will DTG undertake to release any patches or fixes found to be needed into TSW6 as well as TSW7?

Can’t believe it’s finally out next week. We’ve been waiting years for this. Can’t wait to see the preview stream.

It's gonna be an interesting route, it's a 3 hour journey end to end so it won't be for everyone and could get boring after a while. From the trailer it looks ok but very over saturated and dated compared to Running Train. Still I wanna give it a shot and hope that after all this waiting the route is excellent.

Yes, while my configuration used to be good enough for TSW, it seems system requirements slowly went upwards with new releases.

My machine still runs any other games I play very well, so I think the problem lies within TSW and its lack of optimization. It's literally the only game my machine struggles with.

It’s a long one but the scenery really makes up for the length it takes. Love the bridges and rivers. Really cool.

How do you publish a release date and stream when the product hasn’t passed through all testing requirements. Nothing surprises me anymore with DTG.

Exactly, they must have known that performance wasn't up to par before now, in all this time, I find it hard to believe that this performance bottleneck has only just been discovered days before release.

Typical Doesn't Test Games behavior, time for the Tadami Line to make yet another appearence on the Take a Ticket section of the Dovetail Direct, ETA TSW8?

I suspect PC is "fine" and issues were found when DTG built the console versions, since the developers don't have access to console testing kits

Ugh…. I had been so looking forward to the preview stream all day today and yesterday. Gutted is an understatement. I mean fair enough they want to make sure the route is as perfect as possible but it’s still so annoying. Everything has been getting delayed these past recent months. That route would have carried me right through to the dovetail direct which is still a month away yet. So I guess that’s it for TSW6 until the Direct now ??.

Guess it's time to find some HD space for TSC and reacquaint myself with that version, just a shame the scenarios are a bit bugged.

Funnily enough I suspect all those moaning about the delay would have been the first to moan if it was released with issues.

When this used to happen in the past there were many posts saying that DTG should have delayed the release. Now, when they do, it still leads to complaints.

    Are people self aware!

No wonder DTG wanted to close down the general discussion forum.

Likely a few things at play here.

    1. The desire to get the DLC out for TSW6 primarily because it's been multiple versions of the game since it was announced, and another one ticking over isn't a great look. Plus I'm sure Union Workshop are keen to get it released and move onto other projects at this point. I think we all know TSW7 is imminent, so multiple plates are spinning.
    2. Union Workshop's first TSW DLC - they've been working on it for a long time, while causes for issues (especially on console) have been relatively recent by comparison. So some of those issues in Tadami may have been embedded from the start and needed more-than-expected unpicking as we near release - some less obvious than others.
    3. Console testing generally comes late in the process - this is true of the vast majority of multi-platform games, with development focused on a single platform (often PC) before being ported. I believe that the porting work may be done by DTG, rather than the third-party developer, but wouldn't swear to this. However, if so, it's even more likely the porting happens at the end of the process (otherwise the porting is an ongoing task subject to significant changes as the PC version is developed). Again, this is pretty standard industry MO.
    4. It's possible the extent of the issues wasn't immediately obvious when testing began; sometimes they show up in specific situations, and so confidence may have been high when the stream/release date were announced, but then something came to light further into testing and a decision was needed.

I've worked in videogames for 20+ years, and publishing for most of that. It's always better to take a brave decision to postpone a release than it is to release something that's subpar. While it's frustrating to see something you're looking forward to delayed late in the day, this is exactly what the vast majority of people on this forum have been asking for in the past when something was released that wasn't ready.

    It's the right decision.

It's not so much that DTG delayed the release. It's that DTG announced the release before making sure everything was ready to release.

We don't know that something wasn't discovered at the last minute. No matter what, if it had been released with issues the forum would have gone into meltdown. There were complaints the last time a DLC was pushed back.

If I was cynical I would suspect that there are some who just want to have a reason to complain about DTG, but I'm sure that's not the case.

Well it does seem a bit unprecedented in recent times when we have seen stuff get pushed in a less than optimal condition. I find it highly unlikely a major bug revealed itself, more like as speculated no one at DTG has done a decent run on the route, just assumed it would be okay. Then the look of horror on Matt’s face when it chugged along at 12 FPS in the mountains. I guess we will never know the truth of the matter and the lack of management process is not going to help the route’s eventual commercial success. It’s tainted now and even if we get an assurance whatever the issue was is sorted, many people will be reticent about making a full price purchase.
