People who like German railways appreciate another German release. There's been fewer German routes than UK ones in this TSW cycle.

    That’s certainly a take.

Maybe you should have a look at the content released for TSW6 & tally up how much of it has been UK focused.

Ok fair enough there has been a lot uk stuff lately. I think i should have said i would rather them release the class 70 witch is a brand new loco then another german route that is using old re used stock.

in my honest opinion, they shouldn't be thinking about TSW7 before releasing all the content from the 0–3 months section of the roadmap

the whole 0–3 months section of the roadmap needs to be looked at TBH, nothing gets release in 0–3 months it usually more then than.

If history repeats its self we will have at least a month until whatever is announced during Dovetail Direct is released still more time to drop DLC.

DTG is known to release dlc with in a few days of each other so this still could come very soon.

that’s not how it works; both NRI and the 70 are being made by third parties, so they’ll release once they’re ready, not at a pre arranged deadline. if they were both dtg products, i could maybe agree with your argument, but as third parties it would be unfair for dtg to publish one that’s not ready ahead of one that is ready because ‘that’s what people want’

Do we know if this is likely to release or at least get some sort of preview this month? It was listed as 0-3 months in the May June and July roadmaps, now in month 4.
I have no intention of purchasing TSW 7 for various reasons, so would be very disappointed if this was withheld solely for the purpose of flogging a base game upgrade.

The Roadmap is a clever marketing tool containing many golden carrots, it tells the story that DTG want to tell.

I'm sure it's no worse than the tadami case, which, unlike the class 70, a release date was announced and was postponed due to DTG disorganization (which, at this point, is already normal when it comes to dtg)

In yesterday's Q&A someone asked this and answer was that no further releases are planned before the Direct aside from SFS Nurnberg-Ingolstadt.

Also, precedent is nothing else gets released between the Direct and the rollout of the next iteration, so may be that we don't see the class 70 until October or so. Could be wrong of course....

Has there ever been a pre-announced thing part of the main release, either as base or as a deluxe DLC? Dovetail tend to want everything the live events to be new announcements.

they can't and have never put any 3rd party stuff as part of a game release. What makes you think that???? Also what route would even justify a deluxe loco such as the 70 as it usually fits right onto the UK core route.

San Bernadino line was supposed to be a TSW4 add-on, then it was released as a core route. That's all I can remember.

I personally thing they do really need to do away with the 0-3 months section on the roadmap. It sets a lot of unrealistic expectations and puts DTG and third parties right in the firing line of the community. Preston-Crewe sat there for over 6 months it was crazy.

Interesting possibility, one the one hand core routes and deluxe locos aren't 3Ps but these days DTG doesn't seem to do any more content themselves (they only made 2 routes and 1 loco within TSW6) so perhaps they'll change strategy? Although that may not sit well with 3Ps as they'd seemingly favour ones over others...

Another possibility for its delay (AAS did say at some point they wanted it to release in the summer if possible) is that it's not part of the core release but the new MML timetable does include something that's to come with the core/deluxe pack and they don't want to give that away just yet.

okay, that leads us to conclude that nothing else will be released for TSW6, but it also raises the question: why on earth does the tadami page still exist on steam?

To be fair before the direct doesn't necessarily mean nothing else for tsw6 as I highly doubt tsw7 will release just a couple of weeks or days after it

Likely at least 5 weeks after the direct until whatever they announce comes.

Plenty of time for more DLC to be released.

I've heard this as maybe a reason as to why there's not much freight on these routes as well,
But considering in real life it's mostly 66s,I don't see it ,however I think its a little bit silly if they flesh out the freight timetable just because of it

I would expect late september. Last year the direct was on the 26th of August, where TSW 6 release was on September 30. TSW 5 release was a bit earlier, but had about the same gap.

Thames Valley Corridor, something like Banbury to Basingstoke when the 70’s were a regular sight on intermodal workings.

And never say never. If, as we suspect, DTG’s internal route and train building capacity is now minimal, nothing to stop them doing a Donald style “deal” with a 3P to utilise their content in their own stuff.

I agree. I would not be surprised if DTG promote the class 70 as USP for their next UK route…..although it would look a bit of out place on the ECML during the 70’s ;)

Yeah it's odd to not see any mention of it at all. Has it been delayed? Even Tadami got a blink and miss it appearance on the roadmap. But nothing for the 70.

The Class 70 and North London Line could potentially release for TSW6 as they weren't mentioned for TSW7, so I'll keep a close eye on both.

AABS posted a Class 70 screenshot yesterday, so I don't think you all need to worry.

Pretty disappointing to see this is listed on the roadmap article under “Add-ons Coming After TSW7's Release”, whatever that means

I reckon this as been ready for a while now and DTG are just not gonna release anything now until tsw 7 is out. I love to be proven wrong though.

I would say it's because of the new freight hauler mode.

Same, my understanding is that if it's applied, it removes all freight services from a route, but spawns in wagons in random places, you then spawn in any loco you want and then just do what the game tells you.

    I'm probably wrong.

I would imagine it will be a bit similar to Derail Valley, drive to point A, find the correct wagons, couple up and drop off at point B

Well... you are guessing it's DTG's fault. I'd say it was more likely Union Workshop issue, but people don't seem to want to put any responsibility on the creators of routes for some reason since it's easier to just universally blame DTG. I say we don't know so jumping to conclusions is premature and just shows personal bias more than what actually happened, which we don't know yet.

It means they have strategically decided to bulk up the TSW7 launch by releasing a number of DLC shortly after launch to keep they hype at maximum levels.

from what was said, the reason for the delay was poor performance on consoles, DTG is the one handling the port, testing, and quality assurance for the console versions so they are directly responsible
it seems, however, that during the nearly three years this DLC was in development, DTG didn't even bother testing it at any point
anyway, that’s in the past now, at least we have a new release date set, and i’m definitely going to buy it
i’m going to buy the class 70 as well, and by all accounts, it looks like it will be a polished release

Every DLC goes through multiple QA and testing phases. It's more likely that Beta Testers reported bugs that got lost in the void somewhat as the teams concentrate on TSW7 and as it was signed off for release a final build was received which then needed to be certified.
