I've never posted something on general discussion so idk if I'm missusing this part of the forums, but I'm curious what other people think the next cargo line packs are gonna be. We saw when Vol. 6 was released that 2 more cargo line packs are in the works, one for the UK, one for Germany. I'm curious what people think these are gonna be. My knowledge on the freight side of German railways is zilch but I've got a few themes in mind for future British cargo line packs although I doubt my 3rd thought in the thread I linked has any chance of coming to the game. I have no clue. As you have seen they make all kind of things, some very common as oil tanks and some more rare like nuclear. As the last one was somewhat common I would say the next one will probably be different.
I’d absolutely love a UK Cargo Line Speedlink pack with some air braked VGA, OCA and SWB tanker. It’s really needed on all the 80/90 routes.
Pretty sure Adam said he would like to do something with Coal a while back. Given that the new JT route does that, who knows...? Logs would be good especially since the Class 70 is on the way. Maybe a COLAS license?
I heard that one of the packs was going to be this (With working portaloos and awnings). Sounds like a winner to me
Didn't they get semi leaked in the layers of the game? I'm fairly sure they were a badly kept secret. I stand to be corrected though.
There is a separate layer for Colas along with Freightliner so I'd be willing to bet something that Colas Rail currently haul, and a VTG branded piece of rolling stock is more likely than not. I would love to see Coal and Ratcliffe upon Soar used - the track is there, the unloaders are there and there is already a fast travel point for some reason.... Otherwise Logs would be amazing
Counting up off the top of my head what we currently have in the game for UK cargo types: Intermodal: FKA - GWE, ECML & WCMLS FCA - Cargo Line 3 FFA/FGA - WCML Shap Aggregate: HKA - GWE & HKA Pack JNA - ECW & SEHS JIA - Atlantic Coast (Unreleased) HOA - Cargo Line 2 MFA - SEHS PGA - Class 20 HYA - Airedale & Wharfdale (Unreleased) Coal: HAA - Crewe - Preston HEA - TVL & Crewe - Preston Metals: BBA - TVL & WCML Shap Ballast: YGB - WCL & Engineering Express MLA - Class 70 (Unreleased) Tankers: TEA (BR) - Heavy Freight Pack & BPO TEA (VTG) - Cargo Line 1 PCA - Class 31 Specials: RHTT Pack Cargo Line 4 Military Cargo Line 5 Nuclear So intermodals and aggregates are more than covered already, and with the Class 70 coming I find anything ballast or MOW related unlikely. My best guess would be either: Car transport, featuring the articulated 5 car WIA wagons Or a modern day coal pack, featuring perhaps the HTA bogie hoppers I would normally have attached an image of these examples but I am currently on a holiday in Ireland and staying in a place with poor data signal which seems incapable of uploading images, so you'll have to look them up for yourselves.
I would love to see Skyhook do a cargo line coal dlc with Ratcliffe and the MML - a modern day merry go round dlc to counter the MGR on P2Cr
I think Ua wagons would be a nice addition, as they would allow a new type of services with various construction and maintenance trains. They are dumpcars that can be unloaded on site without an extra equipment. The gameplay could be fairly long transit unit trains (as the wagons have rather low capacity), and more interestingly shorter trains led by diesel shunters from the arrival station to the final customer. The unloading mechanism gives them their recognizable look with very high placed bottom.
